I started out years ago not able to make journals and now I can. The best thing is they don’t cost a lot of money, only some imagination and glue. I feel like I’m making a difference, adding beauty, less waste. Thank you!
I lead a craft class at our community senior center each month. I've been wanting to make a journal but it needed to be a one class project. THIS is perfect for that! I can pre-cut the folders and have the embellishments ready to save a few more minutes. Once they discover journal making and fall in love with it like the rest of us, we'll set up an alternate craft class just for journals. :-) Thanks for the inspiration!
I made match covers in different sizes years ago. Thank you for kicking the rust off of this technic. Yours are definitely easier & more handsome for sure. 👍 No surprise at all. I continue to appreciate how you teach us; looking forward to each of your videos! 🥰
What a beautiful addition to a journal. If you made really little ones, it would be a great way to use up a lot of scraps. Thank you my dear. Have a lovely week.
So. Many. Ideas. You always have a million and one ideas, and they're great ones! I love the matchbook format for making small collections of scraps, but these larger sizes are way cool! Now I need to make some "journal companions", too! 🐱(my journals need pets!)
I love, love, love when you come up with ideas that don't take long. ( I love the other ones, too.) Sometimes I only have a short window in which to craft, but want a complete project when I'm done and this fits the bill beautifully.
I love to add matchbooks to every journal. These are a definite new addition especially when I don’t have a lot of writing space. Thank you so very much Natasha 🎀
In the past I've made some tiny matchbooks to use as little note pads for my pocketbook, but you've inspired me to make larger ones for greeting cards. I don't make journals, but so many of your creations are perfect for cards. Thanks!
When do I not enjoy your amazing videos? Never!! I have a big box of file folders. This is brilliant. Ideas galore. Stash of beautiful supplies galore. Time, well... shortage is an issue 🤪🥴 The struggle is real! Thanks for sharing your constant stream of ingenuity Natasha.
Wow! Just Wow, you NEVER fail to amaze me with your wonderful imagination! You have do-able inexpensive projects to do. I always bring one of your projects to do with my granddaughters. They just LOVE to create things and the girls have such fun! Thanks for sharing 💗💗💗
I think they’d make a perfect gift. I love that you use the op shop for finds. You can get so much cool stuff there that can be upcycled. Nice video once again 👏👏👏
Such a cute idea! So many different ways you could go with this...Thanks for another fun idea! And, by the way...I love when you "go rogue " like you did for the smaller one...I find it very inspiring to see your creative mind in action! Have a great day Natasa. Hugs!
I absolutely love these! 🎉. Such a great idea for adding extra writing space into a journal or even as a little gift for someone. Thanks for the great instructions and extra collage ideas.
Always excited every Saturday (USA)time because i know i can watch you again with your so creative handmade for journals…thank you Natasa for your super inspirational ideas
Super good idea! I've made some mini matchbooks but love the idea of a notebook size one. File folders usually have extra fold lines in the middle you could use for a spine to make a thicker one.
Once again you have come up with a fabulous idea. Your mind works on overtime I think. Love love what you create. Always waiting to see what comes next.
I’m leading crafts next month at church and I’m using this idea to make scrapbooks. I have all the goodies to go inside. I’m going to teach them how to make a side pocket out of jumbo sized playing cards too. I’m so excited! Thank you for the idea!
I sure wish I saw this video before I tackled a very large 11” tall by 9” wide artist journal matchbook style, I really struggled with the bottom flap but ended up using hidden magnets and it actually turned out great. My son in law loves it.
I hit the like button before watching, which I rarely do for anyone - and I was not wrong! Something about the large size makes these very attractive. It's just as quick to make a large thing as a small thing, so why not? These would be great for a specific purpose, eg notes from a one-day training course or workshop. The unfussy closure makes it perfect for out and about. Just stick a large pocket on the back for handouts, and with that simple but beautiful cover idea, you'd be the envy of your colleagues! I see what you mean about the tabbed dividers, but maybe waterfall pages would work? As usual, you've set the ideas going! 💗💗💗
Happy Greetings, Natasa!!!!! Oh My Stars!! You've Outdone Yourself, AGAIN!!!! honestly, its mind boggling how you have such an uncanny plethora of magically creative GOODIES to come up with every week!!! I'm really in love with this one! I've made smaller one or two. Way more complicated than they needed to be and I didn't really like them as much. Now that I screen what you have done I went in and started the process of making a couple prototypes!! Its taken me a while to acquire needed supplies over the years. Mostly on the cheap and hoarding, not knowing what the neck to do with it all lol!! THEN???,,,, I FOUND 💗YOU💗😇🙏 💚GOD BLESS YOUR KIND AND CREATIVE SOUL!!! MUCH RESPECT, Mindi in Iowa🌽🌳U.S.
Could not love these more!! Such a great project..can't wait to make some. You have the most creative ideas!! Thanks for more inspiration. You're the best..
Natasha. Hello hello, I always look forward to your videos and now you’ve done a marvelous project. I have made these also but never this big what an awesome idea lots more room to journal in. I will have to add that to my list of things to make and maybe today I will just do that. Hope you are well your weather is getting better and I’ll see you in the next video bye-bye👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻😊😁
Ahhh, an idea to straighten up the pile of cut offs from cutting squares for the envelope punch board. I keep them in a bin, but hate the cluttered look they present. I have junkmail envelopes galore, brads, scrap strips of cardstock, and other stuff to decorate our grocery list paper pads. I could get totally carried away with this little project. ☺️ Thank you!!
I may give this one a try. I think it’s awesome you have an idea and you share it as you go. Thank you for sharing your time and talent. Have a great day.
Thank you so much for all you do!! I LOVE watching your videos you have inspired me to make journals and craft for the first time in my life! You are funny too😆 Thanks for being you💝
So cute! So satisfying -- 15 min & you have an eye candy & something useful. But hey, at 5:00 I, was surprised when you said the back with the brads being visible does not bother you… For me it is a natural opportunity to decorate & permanently secure. The only time I would not bother is when I want the brads to be temporary décor in a storage book (removable to be used in other projects). I will make a lot of those with my scraps for just taking quick notes during meetings. My personal enigma: store-bough notebooks do not entice me to take notes, I tend to keep them for something important and end up no not use them at all 😊.
Thanks for the reminder! I like to make matchbook notebooks for my kid's club at church. I think I will do this for Easter. I haven't done them in a bit. Also, I make them with a consumable option. I use an edge punch that makes the anchored side of the pages perforated, then they can be torn out. The kids love that.
I'll bet those tabbed matchbook covers could be used to store off-cuts and other unused ephemera in each journal for the recipient. No scraps for you that way! Great idea, as usual, Natasa.
Oh Natasa, I just love these larger matchbook designs. So simple to make. This will be my next project for sure. Love how you explain your process very well & we can all understand. You're a super crafter & so happy to be here to watch you create. Be well, be safe & TYFS
This project was very gratifying to complete. Since I'm in education, I have lots of old file folders about and this is a creative solution to turn them into something beautiful! I made three of them today. :)
You are my favorite journal go too, or art crafts period! You are so creative, your work is so classy, your a great teacher, and your fun! I love what you do! Big hugs, Judy Plus you get to the point without dragging in unrelated chit chat!! 🥰
I do indeed love this video. I don't know what happened to your video appearing like it usually does for me. So I had to go to your Channel site that showed your videos to find it. And I know that I had did the bell for getting notices. Hopefully it'll clear itself up by next week. I hope you and your family have a wonderful week looking forward to seeing more. I really like this idea I have seen others do it but not been inspired to do it until I saw this video. Three cheers for you
Greetings Natasa Your matchbook journals are so beautiful . What perfect timing, our friend gave us a large stack of file folders last week. Looking forward to making these.
I get so much joy making things for my journals, you inspire me over and over....thank you! I love that you don't use didgi (sorry if the spelling is wrong) kits, you do everything from scratch and you use just about anything you can get your hands on...love it! love it! love it!
Hey, thanks again for nice video. I do not have those nice brads, I am going to glue small buttons on my standard brads. I also love the simple decor, sometime the embellishments can get to be too much. You have good taste! 👏🥰👍
Great idea! And I, who have no brads at all, am just going to sew buttons on, inspired by your comment! I also wondered about attaching the pages with string, where they sit next to an open edge. That would allow me to use up random single sheets, and refill when needed. And, yeah, simple is best!
The file card matchbooks with the ephemera pieces would be cool to pair with a journal you’re giving away or selling, so they could add their own personal touches during journaling.
I LOVE how you always make several examples of your projects to give your viewers inspiration and motivation.

Love this idea. And love your crackled red book cover too, so grungry Valentine-ish. Hugs from Denmark

Hello Natasa, thank you so much for sharing how to create these oversized matchbook journals, they are fabulous.
Super good idea! I've made some mini matchbooks but love the idea of a notebook size one. File folders usually have extra fold lines in the middle you could use for a spine to make a thicker one.

@@deb.m.7458 Yes, so many different looks can be done with this project. Love it.
This is really cute and I thought would be a great little travel journal, especially if you made them to fit in your purse.
The file card matchbooks with the ephemera pieces would be cool to pair with a journal you’re giving away or selling, so they could add their own personal touches during journaling.
What a nice take on journals, I really love this idea, so clever.😊
Thank you 🤗
