Diane comes across as even brighter in a rewatch when you realize she not only intentionally let wolf steal her ring, but had he not made any effort to change, he would have taken the fall for her crimes the way Marmalade did. She really had a contingency for every outcome even while genuinely sticking her neck out to help the bad guys change for the better. It’s a big part of what makes it so significant when Wolf willingly hands the ring back.
I love this movie so much. The animation is great, all the heist stuff is fantastic, and I love the arc Wolf, Snake, and their friendship goes through. I also like how it seems they knew the two big twists would be obvious, so they so they gave us two more out of the blue ones.
In regards to your geography question, yes. Diane is most likely meant to be the governor of California or its equivalent. The city's layout and skyline is heavily influenced by Los Angeles. Their lair, for example? The entrance is a storm channel at the bottom of the LA River. The river itself is a landmark that has featured prominently in countless heist and cop movies.
Many people were unaware that The Bad Guys is actually based on a book series, written by Aaron Blabey, graphic novels technically. I remember reading them as a kid, and they're still going now with only a few left to go until it ends, I think. And I plan to finish it! I remember when the movie was first announced, and when it released and I watched it in cinema, it was such a nostalgic feeling 😊 As an animal lover whose favourite animals are sharks, many people give me confused or surprised reactions, so movies like these really touch my heart ❤🦈
2:33 I actually like how he's portrayed, he hunts like a wolf, with infinite endurance, and he enjoys the hunt but he isn't evil he's just death and he does his job, when Puss learns his lesson and appreciates his one life he lets him finally live it how he should
Fun fact: This movie is not only based on the book, it's also inspired by Lupin III, a legendary and underrated Franchise about Gentleman thief Lupin III. A good place to start would either be the 2019 movie (which I have yet to watch but have heard good things about), Castle of Cagliostro, Fuma Conspiracy or the anime (if you watch the Anime I'd watch part 2 first and not part 1).
@@andrealopriore9062I have a bit of an idea. Funny story - I got a dvd for Lupin III: The first which I had been wanting but there were no English subtitles and the audio was only Japanese and Italian! (I guess I didn’t read the description properly😅).
Wonderful reactions! There’s a wonderful interview/conversation between Marc “Mr Snake” Maron and Sam “Mr Wolf” Rockwell on Maron’s WTF podcast. They’ve known each other for years but haven’t really worked together, so this was apparently genuine fun for them as well as (weirdly) their biggest success.
I love this movie I mean the characters, the story, the lines, the humor, the feelings, the background music, the animation quality, the art style, and especially the message are all fantastic, but Moscow is asking the biggest question of the entire movie “why are their only a number of anthropomorphic animals in this world”🧐
8:11 It’s because we’re just starting to break down the stigma with sharks and people are starting to become less scared of sharks. But piranhas are less easy destigmatize
I think the others walked away from Wolf because they were hurt by him lying to them and then saying that they were holding him back. In my opinion it makes sense that they weren’t immediately okay with Wolf. The others really just needed more time to process and think. Plus, they have been a team for so long so of course they are going to follow where the majority of the team goes.
The diner scene at the beginning mirrors Pulp Fiction's opening scene, with Wolf and Snake taking the place of sweetie and hunny bunny, where they are discussing robberies in a diner. Wolves are my favorite animals too.
I will not accept this Death (Puss in Boots) slander. He wasn’t a villain, and the ending made that incredibly clear. He isn’t evil; he’s inevitable, and serves as a conflict himself, but he isn’t inherently a villain.
He's not a villain by the end, but he fully intended on killing Puss before his ninth life was actually over, making him a villain. He was specifically breaking the rules of life and death. The only reason he backs off is because he realizes Puss grew to not take life for granted but that only happens because Death plays with him so long. He had plenty of opportunities to kill him but chose to play with his food, which he criticizes himself for at the end of the movie. If Death were coming after Puss naturally, that'd be different, he wouldn't be a villain. But because he's purposefully trying to end Puss' ninth life early (even if he's upset Puss took the other eight for granted), that makes him a bad guy.
Think about this for a moment: Without Death, no creature would ever experience the process of dying. As a person, even though Death thinks that life is valuable, he is still sadistic and quite arrogant. He's still my favorite character though, for ever.
34:31 He did tell them to their faces that they were holding him back. That was a pretty hurtful thing to say so that’s why they’re all upset with him.
They will chew your arm off, though. So don't confuse them with dogs. Respect wild animals. Edit: Also, "functional society" is easy enough when you all hunt as family units and don't need to cooperate with anyone else.
47:55 I guess they're a Non-Sapient Cat that just looks like a kitten? Perma-Kitten. *Edit:* Or maybe they're a Sapient Cat with a human-length lifespan. A human infant after a year is still pretty cute. Maybe they're a Sapient Cat toddler?

10:04 Ok. Diane is a fox. Foxes have ALSO always been portrayed as sneaky or wily in stories when it hasn't been a wolf or a coyote (why is it canines so much of the time???) She's baiting Wolf by criticizing the Bad Guys' work as if she knows what it's like to BE a thief, while making it look like she's on the side of law enforcement who want to STOP thieves. She's not scared of them or enraged by them like most other people are. Instead, she's very collected and articulate, even smug or playful at times. Yup. She's got a past.
If you want a movie to watch that is about wolves and isn’t portraying them as villains I’d recommend you watch the anime style movie called “Wolf Children” it’s a really good movie full of feels and understanding of a mother with the responsibilities of children and society it’s a really good one for you! 😊
I still love the amazing twist of snake blowing up marmalade's house sky high looking smug as ever and just when you think things cant get any better wolf pulls out the most epic line ever "Then who put the push-pop in the freezer?" fucking brilliant ❤👌
this movie was so so good. I went into it already hearing a lot of good things and it was still even better than I expected. also I'm super glad you also love wolves! they're one of my favourite animals, and it's sad that they're often portrayed as villains. even aside from me just loving them as animals, they're also very important for ecosystems! but y'know, more importantly they're just really cute and fluffy. but for real though, I love how this uses animals that are often unfairly demonized to comment on how outcasts can feel like they have no choice but to embrace their role as outcasts. not sure if I explained that well, but I hope you get what I mean.

Day 1 of asking if you could react to Carmen Sandiego; another darkly themed and hilarious kids cartoon. If you haven't already watched it❤ also about thieves.
This movie is hard to place on the "furry world" scale (the scale at which animals go from regular animals up to having human qualities and living alongside of or being the primary inhabitants of a world *not necessarily being humanoid either*. So in this world we have animal people, they are clearly treated differently from humans but not treated as animals *so not like Flushed Away and such where there are animals that have human qualities but the humans still treat them as animals*, but there are also regular animals in this world as well. However the animals aren't all second class citizens either *Cats Don't Dance* type of world as we see some animals in respected human positions. Its clear the bad guys are stand ins for archetypes but at the same time being individuals being thrown in with those as other animals exist in their world like them, but not many seen. But yeah I think on the scale from 1-5 *with there being a 0.5, 1.5, and a 3.5* Level 3.5: The talking, thinking, animal people, live among humans. However humans don't treat them as equals, or set them apart from humanity due to some animal behavior for the most part. These tend to be stories using the animal people as a metaphor for prejudice without pointing any direct fingers. They are clearly intelligent, part of society, but humans still treat them as second class most of the time *might not be consistent, or some individual animals get the (exception) treatment). Examples: (The Bad Guys, Cat's Don't Dance).
Given that Diane manages to be elected as governor (!), it seems that Animal People are at least _legally_ considered equals to humans (already a big step), and that discrimination and prejudice -- while prevalent -- aren't necessarily universal. I'm not sure where that would fit on the scale.
While I thought that this movie was fun, I really dislike the ending. First the snake legit almost killed them, but they still welcomed him back without him having to face any real consequences for that. Then there's the fact that they framed the tiny little hamster as Crimson Paw WHO LITERALLY LOOKS PHYSIOLICALLY COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! And that aside, imagine you're Diane, you dedicated years of your life as Crimson Paw, proudly building up the reputation of this persona,- even if you leave that life behind, as if you'd want this sleazy little guy to taint that!!!
1) The cops are idiots. 2) Diane doesn't want or need to be the Crimson Paw anymore. That identity has served its purpose for her. This movie was her last hurrah in that regard. Letting Marmalade go to jail for her crimes (as opposed to the bunch of other crimes he's guilty of that he can't be charged for) feels like a more-than-fair trade.
The thing that bothers me with this movie is the inconsistency with Snake's teeth. He goes back and forth between viper fangs typical of an eastern brown snake and a mouthful of pointed teeth like how dogs are often depicted.
I would love to watch a reaction of you to the new Tmnt movie. It would be awesome. Also The bad guys is heavily inspired by the japanese series Lupin the third and the design of the wolf and the animation has some similarities to it. The original comic series of teh bad guys is set in aworld of anthropomorphic animals with no humans. They changed something for the movie. I always love how you pay attention to the details, one of the things that makes your reactions so interesting and entertaining.
I really don’t understand why you think them leaving with Snake was forced, he literally told them to their face that they were holding him back, after getting them into the heist that got them caught twice. Why would they go with him after that, you telling me you wouldn’t be hurt at all by that? I know I would at least need some time away after that
36:01 Right? I feel like that's the real reason Shark and co had to take a step back. They wanted to show off that chemistry some more. A little artificial, but I think it's worth it in the end.

However the animals aren't all second class citizens either *Cats Don't Dance* type of world as we see some animals in respected human positions. Its clear the bad guys are stand ins for archetypes but at the same time being individuals being thrown in with those as other animals exist in their world like them, but not many seen. But yeah I think on the scale from 1-5 *with there being a 0.5, 1.5, and a 3.5*
Level 3.5: The talking, thinking, animal people, live among humans.
39:28 Was that good? I don't think I can tell. 😁
The thing that bothers me with this movie is the inconsistency with Snake's teeth. He goes back and forth between viper fangs typical of an eastern brown snake and a mouthful of pointed teeth like how dogs are often depicted.
Do they ever play a role in the plot? Otherwise, I'd just write off the latter as cartoon expressionism.
I know I would at least need some time away after that
The penguins of madagascar tv show 💚💚
36:01 Right? I feel like that's the real reason Shark and co had to take a step back. They wanted to show off that chemistry some more. A little artificial, but I think it's worth it in the end.
"Most animated movies," you say?
Have you seen "Rock & Rule"? It's an odd duck from Canada in the 80s. Post-apocalyptic sci-fi musical.
Have you ever watched the Trolls movies? If not those could be a fun reaction too
No clue if ya seen it, but Chicken Run is a really good one.
If you like wolf characters I recomend Hoodwinked.
Looks like the same "Lupin 3rd" movie.
Cut more please, i almost have understand about what this movie talk.
