I love this ship so much. Arguably my favourite single seater, despite its quirks and issues. Thought about upgrading my Avenger to it, but the Avenger is just so good I haven't done it despite how much I love the Syulen. Might still make that swap at some point, but not right now.
Once upon a time, I decided to take the ship out, for a series of t4 bunker speedruns. My thinking was that, I could very quickly fill up the easily accessible external 1scu containers. Made sense in my head, at the time, only to discover that aint a single hill, rock or other type of cover to hide this tall ship behind of! Turrets see the cockpit, and you, instantly and they smoke you within 10secs flat. Never used it again since, and only occasionally take it out inside the hangar to admire it.
This ship shines with one feature : QT tank size. You can put the fastest QT drive and still the Gatac can fly from crusader to microtech without refueling. 2 min to claim it. So if you're stuck somewhere and you just need to move fast, this ship is unbeatable. It's even 2 seated as someone could sit on he bed while the his buddy is piloting. If someone knows a better ship to travel from A to B please tell me, I genuinely want to know.
yep, Syulen is more about Ballistics than lasers, as you noticed the small capacitor. s3 Deadbolts arent good, cuz overheat. Shredders are a great choice.
you also currently cannot bedlog because the prompt wont show up anymore, you don't get "get up" or anything, only the option for the inventory for some reason.
It's a decent starter, but I would treat it as a shuttle and probably wouldn't really use it outside that purpose. It's probably adequate enough for moving crates full of guns and armor from one planet to another, but isn't really impressive as a combat vessel. Using boxes outside are definitely handy for looting.
I usually can't stand ballistics. I might consider using them in certain circumstances, like Deadbolt 5s on a Talon, or on a Prowler where you have the turret as a secondary weapon group to keep energy weapons on. Other than that, I like to stick to neutron repeaters because the NDBs just look so cool lol well that and when weapons get rebalanced again, the neutron weapons are supposed to be like a mix of laser, distortion, and ballistic if I recall correctly.
Hi, last night I spent one hour trying to load 1SCU Cargo box on syulen but there was no CARGO GRID 3:39 on outside cargo bays (some UA-cam videos shows cargo snapping to grid automatically) and even if I manage to store it without a grid it seems the cargo will fall. Can someone help me how to load properly. Trying on 3.23.1 live.
Not a bug, just the build of the ship, each ship has different power capacity, you can swap out the stock powerplant with a better one, but I have not tired that yet.
It’s not a very newbie friendly ship. Not going to tell you how to spend your money but definitely try it out first. It’s worth asking in chat whenever you want to try a ship because often times you will find someone who owns it and will spawn it for you for a couple of hours.

I won a Syulen in a stream giveaway. I haven't flown it yet, but I think I will take it for a spin this weekend.

They definitely changed the weapons system since I last flew it. I love this ship and its my go to most of the time.
what about using the strife mass drivers ? ynow ... alien ship ... alien guns might work best ?

both are good, All laser cannons are meta in 3.23 because of their energy to damage ratio

I would say test it our yourself and see, my feeling about the ship might be different than yours. (But the syulen is not a new-player friendly ship)
Im enjoying it rn. Its kinda bad at pvp and breaks easily when i hit something but its just my skill issue.

Weapon capacitor isn't currently affected by components as of 3.23. its a number hard coded into each ship.
