I like the intros. Your lizard brain not being able to handle an intro without screaming and editing isn’t Gotham’s problem.

BRO U TOOK MY COMMENT ADVANTAGE
Thanks I really needed that😊
no one will believe him anyway
bro saved us 22 minutes of our lives
@@MagicChanel100 haha
Low ELO chess first rule:
Don't give up just because you don't see a way to the victory. Your opponent will guide you.
True story. One of my first ever games I was down 9 points of material, didn't resign, took all their peices and pawns in the end game and ladder mated them. #neverresign
Man, I miss those times. Nowadays (1280 blitz, 1400 rapid) I struggle to come back even from like 2 pawns down, because people drag me into end games and just promote
Facts
I don't think you mean ELO bro
@@debrascott8775 I’m a 450 elo player (started two weeks ago) and I hung 2 Queens and a Rook and still ended up winning by checkmate, lol
21:50 black QF6 is an amazing move. It's a reverse forced mate. This amazing move literally forces *white* to mate *black*. That is, it creates a situation where white's only legal move is PxQ, checkmating black. I wonder if even the genius of Hikaru Nakamura is sufficient to set up a situation where you force your opponent to checkmate you. Please pause a moment to respect how remarkable that really is. I did not realize a move that bad was even possible.
white isn't forced to promote to a queen
@@jezuschryzt im sure if white was presented with the option, theyd promote the pawn to another pawn
@@jezuschryzt oh too bad, you're right. Alas, my search for a game where one player forces the other player to checkmate him is not over!
@@KennethDudaeric rosen has a video on positions just like that if i remember correctly
@@KennethDudai think the only way this would be possible is it promoting is the only legal move and regardless of promotion its mate cause if the promotion is part of the mate then either queen or knight wouldnt make it a checkmate
"It's checkmate!"
"... but not for me!"
Nice one 😂
would be perfect in whatever that variant is where you try to lose
Levy never fails to quit chess every week
Levy never fails to clickbait us 😩
More like he does fail to quit chess every week, considering he's still here.
"The Boy Who Cried Wolf" except it works
I wish I could upvote this comment 1000 times 👍
Witnessing all these stupid games no wonder why. black checkmated himself 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"There is no plot-twist in this game" *Proceeds to hit us with the biggest plot-twist in chess history*
That is the most insane plot twist I've ever seen
True i honestly would have never even thought of white winning that game
This comment chain is the most insane plot twist though @@Drdontcare1
@@Drdontcare1 It's funny because he's done this before - he's lied and said there's no plot twist in the past when there's actually a plot twist. So you know to look out for a plot twist, that something is going to happen, but then you look at the position and it is literally impossible for it to happen so can conclude that indeed this time there actually was no plot twist, and then...
It is a plot twist, but this is not the first or even second time Levy has shown us a game where a player was about to win and then lost.
Levy: “Imagine you didn’t see your queen hanging.”
Me: “Alright, I’m there. What next.”
That plot twist in the end...
I think ima lose my shit
Black found the worst move on the board at the end. Actually kind of impressive if you think about it
It would took me solid 30sec to find that move lol, and I'm 900-1000 elo 😂
I would love to see the game review of that queen move.
Yeah. Finding bad moves is easy, but finding the absolute worst move that goes from having mate in 1 to forcing your opponent to mate you? Just impressive.
I bet blacks estimated elo was like 800 for this game and yet they managed to ruin in one single move and lose lol
@@ianstopher9111that is just a blunder. however, the pawn promoting to a queen, how will that be rated? I would rate it „Best“ but Game Review would not surprise if it rates it „Brilliant“.
Spoiler: He’s never played chess, only chess has played Levy

That last move was so brutal! hahahaha
That final move actually made me burst out laughing, this has never happened wacthing chess before thank you lmao
You may not like it, but this is what peak Brazilian performance looks like.
I watched peak Brazilian performance yesterday, this is way better
I lost count how many times has he been done with chess, but nobody asks when chess will be done with Levy?
I think this is his 175th video where he says he's going to quit.
Never. It will never let him go
As I Brazilian, I felt representated 🇧🇷 that end was wild tho
Wtf is that ending
Mom! Levy's lying about quitting chess for the 278th time this year!
Comment of the month!!! 😂
Pretty bad for March, huh.
Oh man, I laughed so hard at that ending 🤣
I had to watch it back it again .. because I thought the video ended because of some bug 😂
That ending really made me gasp
The plot twist was impressive, i was lost for words
Last move was hilarious 💀😂
My jaw was dropped
'Why I'm done with chess' - 22 minutes left
😂
Oh my God what a plot twist on the last minute
Absolutely love this man! A Delight to watch, thak you Levy ❤
As a 28 year old, yes we are this dramatic
Anyone who has been watching GC will instantly know that he was referring to a low elo game.
My favorite part was that they both had the grandmaster title on
20:13 how well levy knows me 🤣🤣🤣

That last move is the reason I would have lost that game😭
why is noone talking about the fact that the man found the only move in the end that not only throws the entire game instantly but is also a forced selfmate? that's increadibly impressive tbh.
the plot twist at the end was incredible, I actually did not expect that XD
Request: Please also cover more intermediate ELO games. Like the one you covered about a 1600 playing 5 brilliant moves in a row.
Levy's reaction in the end really got me
Magnus is playing a tournament and levy is not doing daily recaps this is unheard of
That's because he's done with chess.
Imagine in an alternate world there is this person named Levi Roseman he is a GM he doesn’t clickbait and he has a low taper fade.
You can still be a GM
They were playing "the one who makes the worst move, he wins!"
First off, the intro is fantastic. Classic Gotham.
Great video. Excellent ending.
I did not see that coming.
Levy never fails to be done with chess & becoming a GM for 100 times
Levy considers the sun a minor inconvenience and it shows.
chess challenge idea ☝️: one person plays another in equal rated game and once one person gets into a winning position they let their other friend (who doesn’t know chess very well) try and finish the game and win
"I'm done with chess"
-Gotham for the fifth time
Abstract:
0:01 - 1:22 - Audience engagement
1:23 - 21:55 - Tells why he quits chess, despite him saying he would quit chess multiple times, apparently due to analyzing a literal game between 400 ELO -players that might play not the best moves due to not properly comprehending advanced and complex chess theory that is extrapolated by international masters (what Levy is btw) and grandmasters or simply not wanting to think or waste time thinking against their low rated opponent.
21:56 - 22:05 - Still doesn't quit chess, and I predict that he will make a video similar to this in approximately one to two weeks, on his cycle of making content.
Data supporting claim:
For those wondering the days he quit chess (keyword, not times, days):
11/25/2022 (video), 09/03/2023 (video), 12/01/23 (short), and 03/11/2024 (video) [also probably many other times too, for extra clicks yk]
Claim:
He noticed the trend in whenever he quits chess, or has a clickbaity thumbnail (that may or may not be AI-generated yk?) with tons of brilliant moves, Stockfish game analysis, or blunders; he would get a lot more viewers to watch his content. He used to make up a reason for not quitting chess after explicitly saying so, but now he disregards his title of his thumbnails completely to engage more viewers into thinking an international master whose whole career is built upon chess would quit chess. Unfortunately, as aforementioned, it is a large bait, in which people will watch his whole thing.
Author (reason why I am smart):
I am a high school student that is decent and making research papers, and am therefore able to properly analyze videos to extrapolate trends. I won't give you my credentials, because I don't want to be doxxed, but just simply put that at the back of your mind whilst reading this.
Brain damage looks like this
Hey so tldr next time. He makes clickbaity titles cuz the chess trend is dying down. That’s it
yolo - chess is fun, even more with absurd games like these :)
maybe Levy flirts with absurdism philosophy?
wat the fk is this LOL
Hey Gotham! Love the content as always. Just curious you mentioned there would be weekly GTE and weekly HTWAC. I look forward to the win at chess now every week and I’m glad you have these longer videos now more often. Just curious if you decided against the GTE every week?
🤣🤣🤣
I laughed so hard at the king being "spread eagle" ... I feel like you have said that before, but it really connected today. I'd even say that king was an emperor named Caligula.
Holy shit that finish 🤣🤣
Why I’m done with clickbait
Edit: this intro is scaring me, pls don’t quit
"there's no plot twist here"
amazing game
It’s always that lightbulb moment and the board vision that is invisible to your opponent that counts.
Levy never fails to say that he's been playing chess since he was 5
aww he’s quitting
Happy birthday Levi.
Not too many happy returns of the day, just enough to keep on being the best chess youtuber.
I love the change of pace from watching Magnus brilliance or similar. Thanks!!
Original title: Why I'm done with chess
oh man that hurts to watch the ending
levi you should do a candidated prediction video !
At the ending He didn't even say Get out of here.😂🥳
Ending was just amazing!
Levy: “Why I’m done with chess”
Also Levy literally tomorrow: “GMMMMMM!!!”
I definitely know that feeling of not wanting to talk about work outside of work. I went through many years like that.
these low elo videos are my favorite haha
Levy never fails to mention kids in his videos.
Thinking about some of the stuff in this and how they handle the pieces, if the king and queen had their rules switched but kept the same moves, what would chess look like, like what use would you have for the queen that moves one and how could you use the king to win when it can be checked and checkmated
the end had me drying omg LMAOOOOO
That end ahshhhahahahahadgghghghghghahah whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I was amazed about the ending
Never expected the second last move 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like playing at the 300/400 level because the game is an adventure every time you play it. Like the time I moved the knight to check the king and fork either the rook or queen and accidentally checkmated the king since the bishop covered the only two square he could move to.
levy bot's favorite move: 2:00
levy, it’s not april fools yet!
That was awesome commentary, really educational! Love from Lithuania
I saw that last position and I just knew what that last move was gonna be
It is mate, just the wrong kind of mate.
Gotham never fails to finish…..
With chess
Levy, your narration is the best... "imagine living in a universe where you just never saw this could even happen".
🤣🤣🤣🤣
BRO i laughed soo much at the end and its like white king said: uno reverse you fool😂😂🤣
this is a rare video where levy isn't milking magnus for views enjoy!
Personally I just keep skipping his intro until I see chess board.
Bro that game is like a freakin' movie!!!
I want more content like this!
I’ve watch so many of these “How to lose at chess” videos…but they still shock me somehow at the end 😭😭
I liked my own comment
Same
I am literally screaming alone in my living room... that ending could not have been more poetic
the satisfaction at the end is magestic xD
As soon as I saw the king do what the king did, I remembered seeing this game on Reddit... I am looking forward to seeing Levy's reaction to this ending
Gotham could you do a video about your classical games?
3:46 white will lose material from that trade if black takes the white pawn since well a pawn and knight are attacking the white pawn and only the white knight defends it so black will win a piece since black will be winning after that trade that's just my analysis though
E3 as an opening is like in one of those Kung-fu films where the antagonist is like, 'come at me, show me what you got'. No real fighter would give the initiative to their opponent in this way, but at the beginner level it's kind of cool.
It's really good to see levy uploading a brand new UA-cam video on the playlist "How to lose at chess" 😊
12:25 I as a beginner would have moved the to d7 taking the bishop, not moving the knight. execting queen rook trade after.
