I would like to share one personal information between me & this programme. This is one of the very few programmes held at Madras, which was missed by me. As I was relying only on news paper to know the city programmes, I missed this programme, as news paper was not supplied to me on that day due to some local issues. In Friday review only, I came to know that I have missed a treasure. I was grief stricken for the whole day, without taking food. During the fore night, I had a light feeling of an illusion (not dream) that Guruvarya tried to console me by the following words :- “ Raghava ! You are Charukesi now. You will hear me after Soolini” I was not able to fully understand his words, but felt happy that I was consoled by Guruvarya through an illusion. But , Today, I am more than thrilled to see this share (which I missed ). Guruvarya’s assurance came true today. Yes. But how ? Let me explain. What Guruvarya told me ? “You are Charukesi now.” Charukesi is the 26th Melakartha Raga and I was aged 26 then (1983) ! “You will hear me after Soolini” Soolini is the 35th Melakartha Raga and 35 years ended with Dec’2018 !! So Guruvarya told me during December,1983 that I would be able to hear the missed concert, after 35 years, that is 2019 ! Any reader may conclude that this is a madman’s bluffing. I agree that I am mad after Guruvarya Gaanam and my experience is not a bluffing but A Blessing. It is up to the individuals to believe this unbelievable story. A dear rasika friend from Bangalore Dr Chandramouli (he is rasika to the nth power when it comes to knowledge of our music) sent me this audio which turned out to be one of the all time best. I must extend my pranams to Sr Sreenivasa Murthy for his troubles in restoring this 1983 gem from rain damage. What a kind and unselfish gesture on his part. I was used to Bhairavam's Mariyada gadayya, and now this mahavidwan rendered after one of the most mellifluous Sankarabharam alapanas Mariayada gadura. Even his take on the Kalyanavasantam with that sweet words in musical his native Telugu added luster to the rendering. Ha ha ... We can never thank Shri Sreenivasa Murthy garu enough, and it is small consolation that he doesn't expect any! Still🙏 However, I am always intrigued by a small number of dislikes👎not only here but also about many other priceless classical renderings. Would anyone of these people take an occasion to explain why?🤔
There are TWO reasons : 1. A mistake made unwittingly. 2. Perhaps, not to the taste of the person. Even the best might not be palatable for a few at times. Meanwhile, let us relish the feast of music which offers otherworldly flavours.
A great concert by the greatest singer of our Age. Sri Srinivasa Murty garu is doing unparalleled service to the cause of music by his uploads and we owe him so much that we can never repay him. But I am surprised that he has not mentioned the names of the great accompanists. Their contribution to the beauty of any concert cannot be ignored. I hope he would unburden our minds from this burden of doubt and ignorance about accompanists.

I am retyping it now: " Sir, I consider Balamurali's 'Aadi Anaadiyu Neeve kaavaa' (the Full Version) as one of his priceless gems. I used to hear the Full Version lasting for 6 or 7 minutes in AIR Vijayawada frequently in my childhood and adolescence. But, in the movie, it appears to have been sinfully shortened to about 2 minutes. Now, wherever it is there in video form or audio form in the You Tube, only that short version is available but not the full one The same implies that after the disk is released with full version, the song is truncated in the movie obviously for reducing the length of the movie. By any chance do you have the full version in the treasure of you collection? If you do not, can you kindly get it from any of your known sources? 🙏🙏🙏

Full version sung by a young promising Singer Mr. Vamsi in 'Paduthaa Teeyagaa' Reality Show of 'E-TV' is available in You Tube Sir. No doubt, he did it exceedingly well. But, as you know, Original is Original and Balamurali is Balamurali. No parallels can be drawn. Each time I repeatedly hear Balamurali's alapana in 'Kalyana Vasantam' and his own 'Ganamalinchi', I am being swept off my feet again and again. As of the accompanying violin also, what kind of celestial bliss it is, I can not express. Hats off to you Sir for showering such treasures on us. 🙏🙏🙏
I have no documentation available on it and it’s difficult to say.But, someone said it could be Sri. Chalakudi Narayanaswamy on the violin and Sri.TVG or Sri.TU on the Mridangam. Could this be? What’s your take on this?
In past 2days, Listened to this many times especially fantastic kalyana vasantha. I am 99% convinced that it should be Mysore Nagaraj. Certain sangathis are trade mark of his playing style. Let me try to contact MNagraj though my friend and see if I can get to know about it. Will keep you updated...

It's certainly Thanjavur Upendran on the mridangam. Still trying to figure out who is on the violin. Sounds a lot like Annavarapu Ramaswamy.

I don't think it is Mysore Nagraj. It is more likely Annavarapu.

There are two books: Saraswathi(his 72 melakartha compositions) and Suryakantham( the rest of his compositions).
