Great double entendre song. Ballroom parties were called Balls. And he uses it perfectly in both meanings. Some are held for charity and some for fancy dress, but when they're held for pleasure , they're the balls that I like best!!
I think BP reacted to Ballroom Blitz. That song was about a fight that broke out at a live show. I'm surprised he did not make the boxer shorts connection. ball room, bounce to the left and right, etc
I have always been into metal and hard rock. My son started listening to rap as a 12 year old in the late 90's. As a responsible parent, I looked at the lyrics and deemed some things inappropriate for him. I had to explain what a pimp was and why he shouldn't write that on his school binder lol. I was driving him to school one day and had the local rock station on as usual and we were having this conversation about lyrics again and THIS SONG was playing. He stopped talking for a minute and said, "And you think THIS is appropriate??" Touché my child. I realized he was intelligent enough to listen to what he wanted. After that, I got into rap, he got more into rock and music was something we have always bonded over. This song always makes me think about that day.
If you want to see examples of balls in film, just do a UA-cam search for these: "Ball Scene The Gilded Age", "Cinderella 2015 Royal Ball Scene", "Ball scene from Marie Antoinette (2006)", "Labyrinth Ballroom Scene". "Pride & Prejudice Dancing With Mr. Darcy and Mr. Collins at the Netherfield Ball". "Andrei and Natasha's Waltz Scene - War & Peace ", "Anna Karenina Waltz Scene", "Mirror Mirror #2 Movie CLIP - The Ball", "Bridgerton _ Simon & Daphne - best dance scene to fall in love", "Marie Antoinette (1938) - Masquerade Ball Scene", "Doctor Who Rogue The Doctor And Rogue Dance In Cosplay Ball (Full Scene)", "amadeus masquerade scene". For some reason I thought AC/DC had a video for this song but I couldn't find it.
That's so funny...first time I heard this song was in the 90s, around 10 years old, on a boy scout camping trip. One of the older scouts performed a lip sync version of this as a campfire skit and none of the leaders (who should have known better having grown up with this song) had no issues with it.
I had no idea that I needed to watch you listen to this song. I had kind of forgotten about this song, but you brought it back to the front of my brain. I literally couldn't stop laughing to your reaction. Thank you for that! I've been having a really rough couple days, but I have been grinning ear to ear through this whole video. Again, thank you thank you!! That was really fun 😂
Lol, this song appealed all us juvenile delinquents back in the early 80s ....good to know it still has the power to hit the spot after all these years
Same here! We had cool bus drivers that would crank up the radio for certain songs; this was one of them. Nobody got in trouble though, we just rocked out and had a good time!
OMG. I almost choked on my coffee watching this reaction! Hilarious! Yes, there's a double entendre in this song. Balls that are parties, and balls that are, well. . . coglioni. 😂😂😂😂
Some say triple entendre that the band has big balls for producing/releasing the song as an F you to radio waves at the time. They were on the verge of being banned and blacklisted.
Bon Scott!! The AC/DC of my teen years who I went to see so many times in the mid 70’s in Melbourne Australia. He was just the best frontman for me. Oozed charisma and always had a naughty twinkle in his eye. Miss him very much still.
this is from the 70's. i want to say '76, but i'm almost 100% sure high voltage was released in '76, and that would mean 2 full length studio albums in 1 calendar year. not an impossible feat (especially for the 70's), but kind of rare.
It's actually a triple entendre. Balls as in a dance party, balls as in, um, physical balls, and balls as in being tough. Believe it or not, at the time and for many years after it was released, the radio station in my home town played this a LOT.
This came out when I was in elementary school and we knew what the song was about (both versions - 1 version for the teachers and parents, 1 version for us to have fun with). It used to get regular play on the rock radio stations when I was riding the bus to school. Bus drivers were cool and would usually turn it up for this song and we'd all just rock out to it, singing along at the top of our squeaky little voices.
I used to live in Nova Scotia and is where I became an AC/DC fan. I am forever grateful to Blair Comeau for turning me on to them. I love watching his reactions to AC/DC songs 😂
This was made in 1976, but not released in america until 1981. By that time, they were huge and had a new singer. Rock radio was playing this old song as a new track, alongside " shook me all night" , " for those about to rock" and the actual new songs. So, Ac/Dc had a bunch of hits being played simultaneously in 81
I made my roommate flustered when I put the dirty deeds album CD in on a road trip when this song came on. She had never heard this song before, which was comical to me since she was certainly around when it came out.
As a teacher in a nuts district, long ago, we finally got a new principal that stood up to the district on behalf of the teachers and students. THIS was his theme song. Lol we, the teachers, would quieter sing it after a staff meeting etc, just after he walked out. Never in frontbof him. Makes a fun memory. We were lucky to have him while it lasted.
The line “it is my belief that my big balls should be held every night.”. Then immediately you hear “ohhh”. Greatest moment in Rock n Roll history right there.

My friends and I use to sing this at school in the 70's in Melbourne Australia, the funny part was we attended a girls school. I don't think our teachers actually understood what this song was about but we had fun with it. I not sure what slang is used in America but a slang word used in Australia for balls is Knackers and at the end of the song that is what is sung, "balls, knackers, balls knackers " etc so there is no doubt what the song is about lol.
This is the first song by AC/DC I ever heard. I have some older cousins back in the late 70s or early 80s that said, "Oh, you have to hear this!" My first experience to AC/DC.
Like others said, it's all about his parties. He holds the biggest parties (balls) in his ballroom. That's a high society party and they're so popular that everybody comes to one and comes back to the next, hence they come and come again and why his ballrooms are always full. Whatever else could it possibly be about? Bwahahahahah. 😁 Now react to "My Girl Bill" by Jim Stafford next. ;) In the similar vein, get silly with Weird Al Yankovic's "One More Minute"

You are definitely an AC/DC fan. I have been to 6 concerts. Original singer who unfortunately passed. He played the bag pipes that you loved in the song. ITS A LONG WAY TO THE TOP IF YOU WANT TO ROCK AN ROLL!!
I remember the first time I heard this song. It was early 80's, and my sister's friend called her on the phone. She was excited about the AC/DC album she just got. She played this song over the phone for my sister to hear, and she held the phone so I could hear it too. We were all cracking up. I was 9 or 10 at the time.
And yes, he definitely was alluding to the kind of balls you think. Sometimes your mind is in the right gutter. Oh hey, an unintentional bowling reference! Those are big balls too.
