My favourite existential turtle youtuber made a video on one of my favourite games! In all honesty, SoT is a game that made me a great friend that I saw grow up from a complete newbie who had no idea why you'd angle the sails to a battle-hardened veteran who is a bit too obsessed with supplies and gathering them. Even a few years after we've met for the first time we still sail the seas and dominate entire server because we simply have over 200 cannonballs more than anyone else. Not to mention we check up on each other as real friends, despite relationship troubles, being tired from work or school, and all that other nonsense. SoT is genuinely a great game for friends.
As much as I think your main channel is brilliant, I actually love your second one more. This video and the ode to nashville have so much personality and depth. You got me into the silver jews and berman, thank you so much for that!
I have recently moved to a new country, and never been too good at making friends. So you'll understand I kind of feel pretty isolated at the moment. For the months I have been here I have never craved so, so much the warthm and laughs that good, genuine friendships bring. This video really gives me hopes that in due time, somewhere, and no matter how bad at making friends or how a lonely person I am, I will meet good people to play games and have a good time. I relate to this so much. I have a friend that was always there for me and still is. And I try to be as good as a friend as he is to me, but I just fail. But he's okay with it, because I think he knows that I'm trying - and that is what's important to him. He also knows thats he's the better fried, but he never complained, never wanted to be seen as the better person, never in 12 years... he's a true gem. But also I think he has no idea how guilty I felt for a couple of years, until I understood that despite knowing that he's the better friend, it never was a competition to him to guilt-trap my or something. That was just me..I guilt-trapped myself.

Just watched your video about the Appalachian trail and was excited to see that you played this game. I have over 1000 hours in this game and have so many memories associated with it that no other game has given me.
it takes time to grow into being able to really love your friends. once you've seen and understood the stark contrast, as you've noted in this video, that's the first step take the time to appreciate what they've done for you and send them love back in your own ways. start small and be thoughtful, and soon enough you'll surprise yourself with how nice you are being all of a sudden thank you for sharing your story of friendship, i think it's inspired a lot of people to take a look at their own relationships ❤️
this video really hits home for me. I played Sea of thieves with my friend on a sloop since launch we became pirate legends together, lost hours worth of loot together, did all the tall tails, theorized on what they would add next, played the new pvp game mode eventually though we started playing less around when they added the chainshots i think but i swear we became such better friends, just those times where we would talk and make each other laugh in between sailing to islands really mean a lot to me looking back. We still play games together and talk almost every day and i really value our friendship, sea of thieves really has a magical way of connecting people

This same scenario happened to me with rust and I remember one day after surgery, i was so high off my balls on perc that I couldn’t eat by myself let alone change my own bandages, my friend called me while I was out of my mind and decided to come over, before I could get it out of my mouth to my mother he showed up with a homemade Vietnamese dish and gauze, the man spoonfed me this dish and changed my bandages and even though I was basically unconscious i will never ever forget that moment and he really is a true friend

I once had a friend. We were friends for 7 years and we would go out irl but also play a lot of games. It was grate. I could trust him and he cheered me up when I was down. Then I messed up and stopped supporting him and giving enough care and attention to our friendship. We splited our ways and since then I haven't found anybody that would support me or be trustworthy. I feel bad becouse its all my fault and I didn't even try to fix it. Be gratefull for people that care about you because they can be gone sooner then you think
That part about friendship being like tending and taking care of a plant felt pretty poignant to me, because you can tell you fucked up when you go and think "What have i done to show my appreciation to this person i care for" and come up with nothing, blame ain't on no one but yourself, there's no escape to that.

As both a Mitko and a fellow Sea of Thieves helmsman with more hours than might be considered acceptable, this was an unexpected surprise. Sea of Thieves is a game that can't be explained and must be experienced. You stop thinking about your teammates as your teammates, you really become a crew. I once had a friend. We were friends for 7 years and we would go out irl but also play a lot of games. It was grate. I could trust him and he cheered me up when I was down. Then I messed up and stopped supporting him and giving enough care and attention to our friendship. We splited our ways and since then I haven't found anybody that would support me or be trustworthy. I feel bad becouse its all my fault and I didn't even try to fix it. Be gratefull for people that care about you because they can be gone sooner then you think
That part about friendship being like tending and taking care of a plant felt pretty poignant to me, because you can tell you fucked up when you go and think "What have i done to show my appreciation to this person i care for" and come up with nothing, blame ain't on no one but yourself, there's no escape to that.
