Hey you! Help me decide what games to cover for a new show on licensed games! Also, any fun name suggestions for the show are welcome. Have a wonderful day you lovely people.
I don't have any game ideas because I can't remember any individual names, but a name for the series itself could be "License to Play". Yes, it's a James Bond joke. James Bond has tons of licensed games, so that's why I thought of it.
I don't remember if you covered either these two games yet but I would love to hear you talk about Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. They are Lord of the Rings games and play like a hybrid of Assassin's Creed and Rocksteady's Arkham games.
I'd suggest "The Mission" a PAL-exclusive for the PS1. As the text on the cover calls it "The official game based on the Nike TV advert". The gameplay is also absolutely bonkers too.
One weird thing about Jurassic World Evolution is that the only movie actor they got was Jeff Goldblum so, when he talks, you’re just like ‘yes’ but, when people like Chris Pratt’s character talks, you’re just like ‘that ain’t right’
The Power Rangers thing gets more confusing when you realize there exists a Japanese version... no... not Super Sentai. PR gets dubbed into Japanese. So you have a Japanese show, adapted into an American show, which is then localized and dubbed into Japanese.
While strange it does make sense for some seasons as they might do complete overhauls on the sentai’s orginal story for a different premise entirely. For example PR in space’s Sentai had nothing to do with space and was a video game VR premise. Or Lost Galaxies sentai premise is 100% nature based with nothing to do with space also. Or PR RPM one of shows darkest season is based off a lighthearted comidic sentai. So in those instances it’s somewhat justified as basically a new product. Though it’s extra pointless when they import a show that’s basically the exact same as the sentai like PR samurai.
Nick In the Closet why do that though? Also, why do I find myself wanting to watch it? It’s hard enough trying to find the super sentai show already now I’m wanting to add this to it XD
Often made with some passion too, unlike a lot of AAA games now. Terminator Resistance didn't have microtransactions, loot boxes, or other baloney that often ruin FPS games now.
“The fact that to this day Saban continues to license bits of toei‘s super sentai TV series, and transform it, is crazy “ Yeah, especially considering they don’t own it anymore since selling it to Hasbro 😛
They also sold it before for quite awhile after PR Timeforce and Disney took up the license for good amount of years. Then it went back to Saban again under Nickelodeon for a few years then finally sold them off to Hasbro. I’ll be awaiting a transformers crossover, they did it with the Justice league and the Teenage mutant ninja turtles they can easily do transformers.
WAIT WAIT WAIT... the Lord of the Rings Card game is actually a "remake" of the real Living Card game of the same name... which is actually great... and cooperative
"where did I put that dog?" I'm asking the same question, if you have extra guns I can understand you can strap those to your back or something, but a live pup? it's gonna think "oh hey this is fun" for the first five minutes then be absolutely livid barking in your ear, shitting down your back and whatnot the rest of the time
I was getting worried you were going to be one of those UA-camrs that just kinda stopped making content and fazed out. Really glad to see you uploading again. Grate video.
Battle for the Grid could have easily been some half assed licensed Power Rangers game banking on the Mighty Morphin' era nostalgia but instead its a solid fighting game. Also Quantum Ranger being basically Vergil before Vergil is awesome.
@HorizonCrosser 128 Hopefully more villains. Wouldn't mind a guest of some sort. Either Masked Rider, or one of the turtles. I'd buy day one if they could somehow get the Guyver in, with David Hayter doing the voice. The Guyver movies were pretty much R-rated Power Ranger episodes, so it would fit.
@@edzim10 Yes, but no. They bought the franchise in early 2018, but there was still Neo-Saban episodes and Bandai America toys to be shipped out while Hasbro was still busy in the toy design and filming process.

AUSTIN ERUPTION STARS IN: LICENSE TO JANK That's the best i can do for a clever show title. I'd honestly love to see some of the licenced games based on reality TV shows like Desperate Housewives. Also, PS: Love the Tenko shirt!
You could totally call it "licenced to thrill". Would be pretty clever I think. Also I suggest the Dreamworks Madagascar game for the ps2, it was all around pretty good, still Kinda holds up, and had an extra mini golf mode. Who doesn't like mini golf?!!?
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu are they supposed to be bad, if so naked brothers band or charlie and the chocolate factory for the ps2. I own way to many licenced games. :)
Given that I'm currently watching through the James Bond films at the moment, a name like "Licence to Play" sounds like a pretty fitting name for your new show to me. As for content, I'd like to see the obscure trend of products based off something that it itself was based off a game, like the Street Fighter Movie Game or the Pokemon Trading Card Game.
Watching both you and Minimme has me so infatuated with licensed based games, whether they're good or bad. I honestly just want to go back and play a bunch of them now.
I don't know if you've already covered it, but Peter Jackson's King Kong would be a good one to cover. One of the very rare licensed games that I think was actually pretty good.
Solid video dude, all great choices I was actually going to suggest that Planet of the Apes game but you ended up mentioning it. I'd love to see you cover more like this for sure!
I want a power rangers game in the style of ultimate alliance. You have so many choices for the 4 slots. Multiple henchmen and baddies to fight. You could even spread it among multiple games. Maybe even have it follow the Grid story line. Either way a group of your favorite 4 or 5 rangers fighting their way through enemies and getting upgrades. Would be awesome.
I love Terminator Resistance. Other then being way too short for my taste it is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for when I first heard of it. And I like how they keep you from having a phased plasma rifle right out of the gate so in the early stages Endos are something you dread because sure you can slow them with shotguns and take them out with pipe bombs, or sometimes hacking a nearby plasma turret but those are really options you want to avoid having to use.
@@coreylineberry8557 Nice. I knew it would never see the light of day under Disney (or did it?!) but when someone else bought it I knew it might have a chance.

If you're looking for something similar to Jurassic World: Evolution, I suggest following Prehistoric Kingdom's development. While it's still in development, infact I think they just started the beta phase of development. However, It's already lot more customisable with its environments, buildings, exhibit sizes & it has multiple skins/species for it dinosaurs & other prehistoric creatures. It's also not restricted to dinosaurs & will include stuff like mammoths, Sabre-cats, ground sloths, dimetrodon, pterosaurs, long-horn bison & various obscure prehistoric creatures.
Actually with Terminator: Resistance, those "stock sound laser effects" are actually the sound effects from the Future War segments of "The Terminator" and "Judgment Day" so they are actually being faithful to the films
The most shocking thing I’ve heard this month is that the How to Train your Dragons show went over 100 episodes. Think of the fucking ground that covers.
Aliens vs. Predator: Extinction. It's a console RTS for the PS2 that aside from some jank controls (it IS an RTS on a console after all), is actually quite fun. There's no real skirmish mode, just a ~10 mission campaign for the Aliens, the Predators and the Marines. Each race also plays differently. Aliens can spawn swarms of units and have to bring corpses back to the queen to get their faces hugged and there's a lot of variety in the alien units. The predators can only have ~6-8 units at a time but each is very powerful, with each unit sporting one of the predator's signature weapons. Also they can all stealth, and they get resources to recruit more units and purchase upgrades by taking skulls from the things they kill (complete with a loud predator battlecry), with the value of each kill being judged by how strong the target was. Marines have a lot of focus on having to move around the map as they get resources by activating ATMOs (?) that generate resources until they run out. A lot of their units can be incredibly vulnerable and can die easily as they're not nearly as powerful as a single predator unit (who can usually take on two or three because it's a Predator), but your unit cap is low enough and units are expensive enough that they're not nearly as expendable or readily available as the Aliens which creates a bit of a feeling of anxiety that things could easily go wrong. Also they're ultimate unit is an exosuit that can be upgraded to have miniguns for arms so that's super hype. tl;dr Do this game. It's definitely not the greatest game of all time, but it's a pretty good time if you can get past it being an RTS on console.
A Splatoon rip-off with the characters of The Flinstones would be really dope, 'cause now Fred must paint the floor... and the walls... yeah... sorry for this
YO I've never met anyone else who has ever heard of the game Dogs Life. I remember seeing it at gamestop when I was like 13 and immediately had to get it cuz I'd never seen a game like it. And games where you play as a realistic animals were always dream games for me as a kid lol. Thank you for reminding me of that, I'm gonna sub just for that lol
I liked Terminator Resistance, it felt like it was made by fans of Terminator 1&2 for those fans. It was a pleasant surprise, unlike a lot of soulless AAA games.
Hey you're really pumping out quite the amount of videos lately. Tom talk about how much of a big geek you are for Gundam. Mainly Haman Khan. I see that statue in the back
This doesn't have anything to do with video games but I was surprised when I saw Terminator Dark Fate. I saw it just thinking it was a new sequel not realizing it was a new movie like nothing after the first Terminator movie ever happened. I'm really shocked they went that direction with it.
Just an FYI, the LOTR ACG existed as a physical game for a long time before, from Fantasy Flight Games. My dad used to be a huge fan of it. They definitely took inspiration from Hearthstone when porting it to a digital version, but it goes a bit deeper than being a lazy “clone.”
IF ya want a suggestion for a licensed game, SpongeBob Battle For Bikini Bottom is pretty lit, but maybe wait for that remake coming out. From what's been shown it looks pretty amazing.
As a kid I distinctly remember loving the Chicken Little tie in game on GameCube. Around that same time, Disney's Cars came out and I would be remissed if I didn't say I sink in hour after hour into that game. As far as "modern" tie-in games go, I am very curious about the Ice Age Scrat's Adventure that released late 2019.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors technically has two sequels. Ghoul Patrol for the SNES and Spiritual Sequel Herc's Adventure done in the same style, humor and same team for Saturn/PS1 (Get the Saturn if you can!)
The fact that Universal licenced a game about that disaster called "The Mummy" and that is actually pretty awesome (That music tho!) means that a somehow interesting idea in the right hands can be pretty awesome! I mean, there's Sharknado anyways, now i don't mind watching that idea of classic monsters Horror-verse in a Castlevania-Metroid style or good ol classic arcade style side scroller like good ol' Castlevania used to be! (Plz Konami... No Moar pachinkos!)
As a kid, I'd stay away from licensed games like they're the plague. I never bought the ones that are actually considered good either like Spider-Man 2 or the Wolverine Origins game. Now, I feel like playing any that are based on a series I like. That's really the appeal to them, even though the games are usually low quality, the novelty and interactive factor of playing a game based on a show or movie you enjoy is really cool. It's a shame I changed my stance on this at a time where development costs are so high to the point it's killing off licensed games as a concept. I'd love to play a licensed Battle Angel Alita game based off the movie, if this was 6th gen you can bet that would have been made immediately for the PS2 and Xbox. Not anymore.
The wolverine game for 360 was/is amazing. It was everything I hoped the movie would be times a hundred. Spider-Man 2 is still pretty good too. But not anywhere near as good as wolverine unleashed still is.
Battle of the grid was one of the few games I could play with my 5 year old nephew and watch him beat his 35 year old dad and then me, a 17 year old, is able to beat him. It’s great and the dlc is really good
I need someone to play Zoids Battle Legends for GCN. Game was hype as hell when I was a kid. You can battle with all your favorite Zoids from the show, customize them, choose whichever pilot you want, gawk at the terrible translation, and get confused why multiple characters had their names changed. It's a hot mess, but addictive to play. And the voice clips are unintentionally hilarious.

I shit you not, while watching this I got an ad for Jurassic World Evolution 2.
Your wish has been granted, Austin. Lol
IF ya want a suggestion for a licensed game, SpongeBob Battle For Bikini Bottom is pretty lit, but maybe wait for that remake coming out. From what's been shown it looks pretty amazing.
A comparison of the old game and new one could be interesting.
I clicked the video and then got the alert that hey a new video. So that was cool.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors technically has two sequels. Ghoul Patrol for the SNES and Spiritual Sequel Herc's Adventure done in the same style, humor and same team for Saturn/PS1 (Get the Saturn if you can!)
Idk if you've done these but definitely "The Warriors " and the sequel to enter the matrix which is "the path of Neo" both of those are fantastic
A series specifically on licensed games would be so good...
What an interesting cast of characters We Have Tonight on UA-cam
This channel is funnier than it has any business being
That Lord of the Rings Adventure Card Game is actually really good and is semi-based on the physical card game from Fantasy Flight Games
Austin Sells out?
Maybe do them in chronological order?
Like start 70s and 80s and work your way up?
Shoutouts for Doraemon Story of Seasons for being the first out of 94 video games to get released outside of Japan
(Cratermaze doesn't count)
Gah you rick rolled us with the chrono tribute robot theme you used in the sponsorship spot
Battle of the grid was one of the few games I could play with my 5 year old nephew and watch him beat his 35 year old dad and then me, a 17 year old, is able to beat him. It’s great and the dlc is really good
Saban sold the rights to Power Rangers to Hasbro.
Justin Wong helped in the development on battle for the grid which is why it’s like mvc2

This is gonna be good!
You could cover the Discworld games, I guess they technically are licensed as they're based on Terry Pratchet's books.
That neon nightriders music. Great choice man

Is that shirt depicting best girl Tenko from DRV3?
