    As the self proclaimed biggest Rave Master fan in the world, I was glad to see this gem pop up on here. I actually took this game to go get autographed by Yuri Lowenthal a few years back and his face lit up when I handed it to him to sign. Apart from having J Micheal Tatum sign my microwave, that was the best experience I’ve had getting something autographed before. Giving a VA something that’s so obscure that they did but something they loved doing is always a great experience.

    Fun fact: the PS2 Bebop game was completely translated and dubbed but never released in the west. So there's a whole lot more Steve Blum as Spike out there that we will NEVER see.

      Not if my Kickstarter to kidnap Steve Blum and make him record every word in the English language in every possible inflection so we can make our own Spike Spiegel Vocaloid gets off the ground

      And the gameplay itself is weird. It's some sort of fighting game but not only, it's over complicated.

    i rented that izzy one when i was young because i wanted to play a more recent game on the SNES, thinking it was made in 1995 or something, since he was the mascot of the 1996 olympics. I was so disappointed and confused to read that it was made in 1992 once i started it up, and also disappointed that it sucked. why did they make an entire game based around a mascot that wouldn't even be at the olympics for 4 more years? that's.. kind of a long time.

    • @BigAL68xyz
      @BigAL68xyz 5 років тому +2

      They actually introduced Izzy at the Barcelona closing ceremonies in 1992. I guess they just couldn't wait to crank out a game with him in it.

    Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief on the DS was an obscure one I owned. It was a turn based JRPG based off the film that was surprisingly decent. Fun little romp based off the film that actually expanded the universe in cool ways by introducing other demigods and even had a robust post game where you fought the other Olympians.

    There was this one licensed game that was weirdly alright. Monsters Inc. Scream Team for the PS1. It was easy and short, even if you 100% it, but I remember it being a good time last I played it.

    I don't know about games based around vehicular combat. I've never played twisted metal or similar games. Although, I have often thought that a game based on the movie "Death Race" with Jason Statham would be pretty awesome. You could create your own character, have lots of on foot side quests in the actual prison to earn new armour and weapons for your car, customize your own vehicle in the workshop and engage in the titular death races with icons for you to run over in order to activate your weapons, tactical items like smoke grenades, defensive abilities, track hazards and traps among other things. I think it could be great fun to play a game like that if it were done well.

    To me the strangest licensed game ever is they made Beastly for the Wii. Beastly. For the Wii. Someone looked at that weird teen goth Beauty and the Beast inspired movie that nobody really liked and was like "Hey, let's make that into a video game...for the Wii." I know the Wii was like the king of random shovelware titles, but to me Night at the Museum sounds like a GREAT idea for a video game compared to Beastly.

    In the 80s and the 90s kids watched adult movies all the time and back then everybody knew that and did not think it was a big deal like people do now so thats why they made plenty of games and other stuff for kids based on those movies.
    In the old days people did not think about kids as idiots and wimps that cant understand or handle anything like people do now.
    Both stuff made for kids and stuff made for adults used to be way more violent and sexual in the past because people where not so sensitive and scared to be offensive and make people complain back then.
