Happy 5 Year Anniversary to me! :D Also BIG APOLOGIES for any of the audio issues in this video. I recorded this before leaving the country and not having access to my normal equipment so I was unable to re-record it in time. Thanks for bearing with me and I love u guys!
Congrats on 5 years! Love watching your opinions expressed on screen. PS Where did you get the Terra Branford art in the back? She's literally my fave.
Correction: the soundtrack of Spark the Electric Jester is the result of the combined efforts of at least six individual composers, ONLY ONE OF WHICH was Michael Staple.
@@inendlesspain4724 there's a rom that puts hutsuna miku in a sonic suit (which apparently is an actual design from an official ad or something" with an entire story related to domino and many other very Random yet fitting characters related to miku
Yeah, I know. But that's still a sprite hack of an already existing game rather than a brand new game with all original content. Still cool though, but not the same.
Funnily enough, I played one of the Sonic clones since your last video, Freedom Planet, and I absolutely loved it. It was a superb love-letter to the Classic Sonic games while at the same time being unique enough to stand as its own thing. And now it’s on the Switch! Definitely can’t wait for the sequel!👍🏽Judging from the demo on Steam, it’s shaping up to be even better.
Did you know that guy who made Spark: The Electric Jester, now working on his sequel Fark: The Electric Jester? This time, it'll be based on 3D Sonic games, and you can even download alfa demo!
Buster's Hidden Treasure was the first game I ever remember playing. I actually dusted off the ol' cart about a year ago. And the steepness of the difficult spike knocked the nostalgia glasses right off my face.
Austin this is one of your best videos so far, to be honest I wasn't digging much of your latest videos but man, I really liked this one. I don't know much sonic clones but could make a video about the sparkster remake?
They're also making a 3D successor to Spark called Fark: The Electric Jester. Still, it would be really nice to see Spark on consoles, particularly on the Switch!
Buster's Hidden Treasure is to this day one of my all-time favourite Genesis games. I wasn't even a huge fan of the show (at the time,) but man-o-man, that game was fun.
Buster's Hidden Treasure is one of my favorite Sonic clones. It probably helps that it was developed by Konami around the same time as another great Sonic clone of theirs, Rocket Knight Adventures.
God I remember renting the Super Nintendo version from Blockbuster for a couple of weeks straight. But it was really difficult for a little kid! What a trip
To be quite Honest, Spark's Story was pretty much better than Freedom Planet's. It also strange that Spark the Electric Jester has a demo at SAGE, just like Freedom Planet before it; and the SAGE of this Year have plenty of Indie demos like, Lucy and Kyle's Wonderworld. Plus, the Indie GoGo fundraiser was pretty much for the Soundtrack, as the game was pretty much done at the time; that was thanks to LakeFepard reusing the assets from his Sonic Fangames and improve upon them.
I love both of these games, but I can't get into the stories of either of them. I skip though the cutscenes in spark and I only play Freedom Planet in Classic or Time Attack modes. I think the minimalist apprach to story Classic Sonic took just works better for this style of platformer.
Oh my god, C Lab pengu (pingu?) Game looks better than sliced money. Need it. That game will finally cure my depression, screw pills, daddy needs his feel-good pengus. Also, really unfortunate about Spark the Electric Jester being a, you know, jester. I can't condone that character choice, as the only jester I've ever looked up to is Hop Frog, the titular jester from the Poe story. He is a dwarf, but he has a girlfriend, and he also goes completely batshit crazy upon drinking any amount of grog, and he only drinks because the evil king forced him to. And i forget what else happens, because i fell asleep (feel asleep MG style?) listening to it, but I'm pretty sure the king got at least one of his testicles caught in an iron maiden, courtesy of Hoppy.
Yeah, I'm with you on this one- someone ought to hit up the Aeon Genesis guys with a commission to translate Love Quest, because that sounds like a sweet premise for an RPG.
nice video always nice to see some Tiny Toons games and some Spark on here looking forward to future videos with Tiny Toons I know I played my fair share and for the record there was an Animaniacs game too not saying you have to play it just putting it out there....
Really great to see Buster's Hidden Treasure covered. That's a childhood favorite of mine and almost no one talks about that game. Not really much of a fan of Busts Loose honestly though.
More Sonic clones is what I wanted, but I never expected such a sponser. Saya is the bane of my BanG Dream account. So many dupe 4-stars of her. Moca will forever elude me.
I'm not a big Sonic fan....if anything I'm a super casual one, but am I the only person who thinks Sonic Unleashed wasn't that bad? The nightime stages where a bit too slow but they really weren't that bad.
Yeah. I've played most of the classic games and a good chunk of the modern ones, and I'm not too sure why people shit on Unleashed. I think the only major flaw with the game is that the Hedgehog Engine isn't well optimized.
Even if not exactly a Sonic clone, maybe Zool and Zool 2 have this whole speed going on. And it is a licensed one so if it doesn't qualify as Sonic clone you may end up checking this one for yet another weird licensed videos. Or a video about ninjas. Or a video about food licensed games and put it along with the duel of the (last) century: Burger King VS McDonalds
At least now we know why Bubsy wasn't included in either video (besides footage during the explainations on this video), Austin hates him. Also, I like BanG Dream, but the rhythm game part is too hard for me. lol

Glad to see someone else took a good look at Spark, it's such a good game. :)
About Spark, there's a sequel in development...AND IT'S 3D!!
Spark looks fun. Never heard of it. Added to wishlist.
The minute I saw Spark and his moves, I instantly wanted him for Smash lol
I would never know about spark if it wasn't for you austin, that looks like a alright game, thanks dude
I really like Kid Chaos's design. Not his sprite design, but the cover art. It has a Pup Named Scooby Doo vibe to it.

Thanks for reminding me I didn't know what a "Sammy" was when I played Ys III for the first time for the SNES when I was little, Austin.
Buster Busts Loose was my jam. Really solid SNES title. One of my favorites, glad to see people remember it.

That last one got me thinking: What would qualify as a Kirby game clone?
I think the morale of this epic tale is that we desperately need a full version of Rocky Lockridge's version of Vampire Killer ASAP.
Thank you for this video, I have now wishlisted Spark. I know its not super expensive but I have too much to play right now.
Buster's Hidden Treasure is honestly one of my favorite games of all time... Played it so much as a cold
Sonic clones can be very entertaining
Sees the Danganronpa pachinko thing and is like AH I NEED TO PLAY THAT>
The yugioh music at the end of the video was a beautiful touch in my opinion. Lol!

I love Buster's Hidden Treasure so much, I grew up with it as a kid.

Spark the Electric Jester should come to consoles... like the Switch.
