I've been burnt by a few Chinese companies delivery issues unfortunately. I've kept the items due to the issues with returns. Goella looks great but i won't buy their clothes online if returns are an issue if they don't have a UK shop.
Apart from that rant i loved all the clothes and advice. Thanks again for a really informative video 😊
I have just raise the same point regarding the returns policy. At least Lilysilk have a UK returns address..
Goelia do now have a warehouse in the uk so deliveries and returns are cheaper and quicker.
Goelia still say on their website that they only provide return shipping labels for USA.

As the Summer was so unsettled I've already been wearing my linen/cotton shirts open or buttoned over vests, sleeves rolled up or down and with a statement necklace. Such an easy yet stylish outfit and can switch up the colours/patterns of vests and shirts easily ❤

My daugther pursuaded me to wear my first ever jumpsuit and I felt really good in it. Love, love the denim dress. It looks so much nicer on you than the model, IMO. Also, oversized items. I'm so scared of them. I'm a size 14 and only 5, 3 so feel like a sack of spuds when I wear anything that's a little big on me. As always, thanks for your videos!
I think a lot of the things she wears look much better on her than the model. It helps that Melissa is gorgeous but obviously she really knows her job and styles things better than the clothing companies do.

I like a dress but love a jumpsuit and I don’t think the loo causes a great problem unless maybe on an aeroplane. I just grab a hold of the bottom before I pull down the top.

As a hair stylist I had a girl who spent a fortune on clothes but did not want to get professional hair coloring and she did a terrible job doing it herself. I finally said you know the clothes you wear are expensive and you don’t wear them everyday, BUT your hair you “wear” everyday. She was a hair color client after that😊. Take care. Home alone this weekend (Test Match!) so used the opportunity for a wardrobe overhaul. Put all my Autumn and Winter clothes in spare room and spent all day trying on every combination, always imagining you on my shoulder 👍 or 👎
A couple of lace DVF dresses had to go, as gorgeous but dated. Too short and fitted. Cropped fitted cashmere cardigans look wrong, as I now like cropped boxy, so will donate to my very skinny granddaughter.

The reason I don't like to spend money on clothes I wear on a daily basis is because I would be concerned about messing them up. I think it goes back to childhood of having old clothes for play and "best" clothes for going to visit, going to Sunday School, going on holiday etc. I certainly wear old clothes for gardening, but even around the house/cleaning/food shopping etc that feels like chores and doesn't justify wearing "best" clothes. I have recently bought some nicer casual clothes since watching your videos Melissa but sadly they are still hanging up in the wardrobe with the labels on. If I put on something I've spent more money on I have this very strong urge that I can't do anything because I don't want to mess the clothes up - it is very difficult to get past that feeling, hence if I have a lot of things to do I go for the older, cheaper clothes in my wardrobe - crazy but true!
This is 100% how I feel as well. I've tried to get past it, but I believe it's ingrained from the same childhood thoughts!
Exactly the same for me! I just can’t bring myself to wear “best” clothes when I’m just shopping or walking the dog or around the house 😅
I too feel like when I’m working I might wreck my nicer clothes, but definitely when I”m out and about; whether that’s grocery shopping or going for a walk I wear my nicer, smarter clothes. I do all my cooking in two days so I’m not cooking for the rest of the week which means I can wear nicer clothes at home the rest of the week; I don’t want my husband thinking he is not important enough for me to take care when he’s the only one who sees me!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you are showing the higher quality items. Your videos really do influence me, so why not let myself be influenced into buying better quality when I can afford it! And I CAN afford it if I stop spending money on SO MANY cheaper Amazon items. Love your channel!

I've been watching you for years and still learn something new each time! Thank you for your generosity in sharing your wealth of knowledge. I had a thought watching today: I find that the loose drop shoulder sweaters are not flattering on me and make me look a bit droopy. My sense is that when you pull it off your shoulder, you are compensating for the lack of structure in the shoulders, but as 70+ woman with a healthy but mature body that just looks silly on me. In general, would you advise the more mature woman to stick with structured clothing? Would love to see you explore this further in your posts.
Yes, structured clothing looks better if you have sloping shoulders or bigger boobs - regardless of your age.

That jumpsuit looks great on you, though I personally prefer doing the "Canadian tuxedo" for myself for more versatility and ease to the ladies room, lol. I took your advice and bought a jumpsuit for the Summer. I love it. I'm getting at least one more for Autumn/Winter. It is supercomfy and actually there are other clothes like long dresses, long skirts or palazzos that are just as if no more troublesome if you go to the bathroom in public places and are worried about hygiene.

Great suggestion! Usually it’s down to the bra you’re wearing though - never wear white under white as that will show, always wear nude!

Just a warning re GOELIA online shopping. Customers in UK are responsible for paying for items to be returned to US for a refund. Shipping labels are only provided to US customers. You only have 15 days to return items. This is an Australian / Chinese brand so your order takes 2/3 weeks to arrive to UK. Lovely quality items but be sure of sizes as not easy to return. 🤔

Great video. Loved the Goelia camel jacket and ordered it. Hope u get credit. It reminded me of my Uncles WW2 green jacket I wore in my late teens and twenty. Total agree with you on buying quality casual items to wear at home and running errands. But I've find some nice joggers on Amazon and Walmart also and put a nice jumper and jacket with them, especially the wide leg. Thank you for another great video. Over summer have been wearing jeans etc that are ankle length and feel far less frumpy - thank you so much, but as autumn (and the season of constantly cold feet) is fast approaching would love some styling tips ideas on what jeans and footwear combinations might still be stylish but which will finishing also be practical and warm in the cold and wet weather that lies ahead. The thought of exposed ankles (or even just pop socks) is already giving me goose bumps (I speak as someone who lives in her many pairs of hand knit wool socks between September and May).

We’ve tried clip on ones but because I’m getting dressed so much and also use my arms a lot it produces less consistency and more interference (for example when I brush my arm past it) which then causes editing issues. So instead they’re now on the ceiling x

I love a drapey coat, but the raglan sleeve accentuates my sloped shoulders and makes me look like I’m hunched over and a little sloppy. I wish I could find something similar with a set in shoulder. These are all great tips and ideas. Thanks for sharing your expertise!
You’re right to be finding a set in shoulder - they do exist and in next weeks video I’m dressing 3 women of different shapes and I use set in shoulders on everything!

I'm not sure how worldwide these are available, but I buy Fruit of the Loom "footies" here in the US. I despise showing my socks, and these have great rubber grips that don't slip down, but never show.

We have been in touch with Goelia and they have informed us that they have a UK warehouse so returns are processed here rather than in the USA or China which has reduced the cost of returns significantly

One problem I'm having is when I link to your LTK page from UA-cam, or sometimes just go to your LTK page by just using a tab in by browser, the links within the LTK posts go to the UK page for COS, as an example. Is there a way to go directly to the US websites?
I Googled "How to switch from UK to US pages within LTK." and did not find an answer.
No there isn’t I’m afraid. All you do though is once you land on the cos uk page, just find the country button and change it to the US then it’ll switch it for you. That’s why we use moonsift for the big videos as that allows us to save US specific links.

Me again! 🙂 I have a few fashion questions and wanted to separate those. One, kind of a silly question, but, when wearing pants long enough for heels, what do you do around the house. I wear Crocs only, my slippers, in the house, but my long pants hang on the ground. I thought maybe you'd have a fix.
Two, you show changing handbags for different outfits. I like this idea but when I use a handbag I *move in* to that handbag. Any tips on how to change efficiently change handbags?

Handbag wise I’ve only ever got my phone and purse so it’s just a matter of picking them out if one bag and putting them in another. Although you can get bag inserts off Amazon that allow you to transfer easier.
Longer pants - my heels (small kitten heels), trainers and boots all have a very similar heel height - probably the same height as the standard pair of crocs so there’s no issue transferring from one to the other. Plus, I mainly wear ankle crop trousers/jeans anyway. The other answer for me personally is that I always stick my variety jogging set on as soon as Im in the house so I’m nice and comfy x

The reason for not spending loads on in house daily wear? we work in the house! cooking, cleaning, etc. its a place of production for us. I get one stain on a pair of $100 joggers, that wont come out? Spraying thr countertop in the kitchen and i realize the spray has a little bleaching agent in it? Yikes, white spots on a dark cloth! heartbreaking, really. Im not lazing around the house au casual in my day wear! And often borrowing my mans denim shirts because the matetial is heavier weight... And cheaper to replace if something happens to it that i cant fix.
You’ve mis-understood- investment doesn’t have to mean ‘expensive clothes’ it means investing the time in finding pieces that are both casual, fit well, drape well and make you feel good at the same time. There’s no reason why you can’t work in such clothes and they don’t need to be any more expensive than your budget allows. X
I completely agree and understand. I buy lounge wear when it's on clearance at Walmart or very cheap on Amazon. It's not cashmere or silk by any means, but it's cute and makes me feel more put together when I am doing housework. I do have clothes set aside for painting or gardening, and those are things I've worn out or stained while doing other chores. So even then, I have cute "dirty work" clothes!
Hi Melissa. Would be nice if you could show examples of capsule wardrobe for true summer(creams, beige, camel and brown colours just don’t suit me). Would you suggest to swap them for grey and navy colours? For example, grey shoes?
Yes you could do that but don’t get too hung up on your colour analysis. The reason I do this job and was so busy initially when I first started was because I use to go in and rectify peoples wardrobes who ‘had their colours done’ as often the colour pallets they’ve been told they can wear don’t mix and match together unless they’ve got the white or neutral in there but because they were told they ‘can’t wear’ the lighter colours they wouldn’t buy the necessary pieces.
I 100% agree that certain colours look better on some people however, anyone can wear ANY colour if they just either move it away from their face (and sometimes neckline) or, they layer that colour. Yellow doesn’t suit me for example but when I add a navy layer over the top I can wear it.
Grey shoes aren’t the best as they don’t give with everything, I’d stick to neutral tones regardless of what your colours say.

I get the idea of taking the concept from an outfit shown and not buying the exact items. But, 2 Christmases ago, you were doing a body shape video and the woman had a similar shape and I loved the outfit. (Plus, it was from Marks & Spencer's and since I am in the US, I felt confident no one else at my holiday party would be likely to have the same thing.) I bought the exact 3 items, they fit great, flattered and wore well and I received many compliments. Very happy with the information you provided and my purchase. (MssterClas #10, outfit about 22 minutes in.)

I spend a lot on my jeans because they are my daily staples. I used to buy cheap ones and they would not last. I do wait for sales if possible.

It’s an expensive one from Loewe so I don’t often show expensive bags as in all honesty I NEVER buy them for myself but brands do send them me for free but I don’t advocate spending money on them (unless you’ve got it to spend!).

so true. Daily basis clothes should be an investment. Because those are the ones that we wear all the time, for different situations, and even when in we are in a hurry.
Edit: I changed my mind on trench coats...I see them everywhere. I love them, but I found a light parka that can be like a trench for me, my style is not that formal.

The bust measurement for the white me&em top is very large. I know it’s boxy but how boxy is it? What size did you buy? Your’s doesn’t look too boxy!
I brought a uk size 10 but actually, it does come up large so a size 8 would have been fine.
