At least he's educated on these scams.
I have a cyber degree and the amount of scams that target people who aren't tech savvy is absolutely insane. It's quite disgusting tbh.
Also it's not even just tech scams? In general the elderly are a lot more likely to be scammed for a TON of reasons compared to a younger person: less knowledgeable, less of a social network to tell them it's a bad idea, possible dementia type issues with no one to care for them, etc.
It's really sad and anyone who takes advantage of someone like that is pathetic and deserves every bit of bad karma that comes their way.
So this guy overreacted FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW, because we've seen the show, we know he's legit, we know he doesn't even use his guests real names, but her dad? He doesn't know that. He just hears "internet guy I gave all my financial statements to" and considering he sounds somewhat educated about those possibilities he reacted in a...kind of normal way.
Better than having a dad asking you for $700 because he just learned he's the cousin of a wealthy Nigerian prince who just needs $700 so he can move the $2 million into your "account of the Americans."

They even threw in the brand new adjustable base and brand new mattress in for free. They legit just didn't want to pay movers to move it to their new house and just wanted it gone. If you just started doing this, then I wouldn't go so aggressive on the stocks, as individual stocks is considered high risk investments which should be done only after you have a solid foundation for your future. Instead you should put that money in a solid ETF, and once you think you have put enough money there that you could comfortably retire ( as a conservative projection at the standard retiring age) then you can start putting your money into higher risk products like individual stocks. This is to protect you against a stock suddenly doing poorly and you losing all your investments and end up without anything to fall back on.

Example: How do you end up with a credit card with crazy interest and not even know? One way is that the credit card companies start you with a low interest rate, but the fine details state that if you miss one payment, the rate can automatically increase to like 27%. Your credit card could have crazy interest without you even knowing! Check your statement. Another example: When you're buying a car, companies will have you focus on the monthly payment instead of how much you're paying for the car. That's how they make money and you become a car slave. (and then show an example of a monthly payment on 7 years and high interest versus slightly higher monthly payment on 3 years and low interest)

I agree, there's a lot of room for improvement in this show!
