Hey man, I just bought this Lens and realised you done a video on it. Love the images you took with it. Despite its an APO it reminds me of the 50 lux asph rendering. I am a portrait photographer and have a wedding gig coming up so will be using this to see how the images go for people. Will make a video of it after and hopefully Should complement your findings. - Keedon
It does resemble the 50mm Summilux somewhat, but I think the color pops even more on the 75mm APO Summicron, and it has a dreamier bokeh. It’s just a little heavy, and I prefer using it with the focus assistance of the SL2-S. I think you will like it!
You can buy a 1,4 x magnifier eyepiece for your M11 to make focusing easier. I had a 75 mm, but sold it off to get the Summarit 90/2.5, which is great for portraits and landscape. My Leica M lens set also includes the Summilux 50 (World's best lens) and the Elmar-M 24/3.8, an amazing tiny, but sharp lens. Keep on rolling!
@@sc1 I don't need a high speed 24 mm lens. It's heavy and very expensive. The Elmar-M is up for my needs, has a 46 Ø filter thread and is 'cheap' - second hand only USD 3,000. When shooting landscape, you'll always step down to f. 8, so why spending extra USD 4,000? same idea with the Summarit 90/2.5. Light weight and the filter Ø as the Elmar-M and the Lux 50. There's only one M-lens, I would invest even I know, it's stupid to do: the Tri-Elmar-M 4,0/16-18-21mm ASPH. I don't need the lens, but I'll own one. Do you get my point?
@@paulsehstedt6275 Confirmed my thinking. I'm looking at getting a wide angle M lens, specifically a 21mm. That would give me a larger gap from my Q2 lens. I know my M11 doesn't have the frame lines for a 21, but I think I could estimate composition or use Live View, and I could also use it with the SL2-S EVF. I don't see the need for spending more for the 21mm Summilux f/1.4 to carry around the extra weight and add bulk to my M body. I am hearing both lenses have similar image sharpness when stopped down. I can use my 35mm Summilux when I need to shoot at f/1.4 I think for me, 21 would be the widest I'd go
@@sc1 I was tempted to buy a Super-Elmar 21/3.4 too, but the guy at the Leica Store in Hamburg told me, it would be a bad descion, because the 21 came too close to the sensor on the M240. That's why I opted for the 24 mm.

Do you recommend a 24 Elmar 3.8 over a 24 Summilux, and why?

I just got a 21mm Super-Elmar f/3.4. I'm still trying it out, but it doesn't seems as sharp as my 35mm Summilux.

The 75 provides nice colors.
eew, yeah. strange how each Leica lens renders colors slightly differently. but the 75 APO cron is particularly striking.
It looks great.
who made the finger grip for SL2?
