Hi Ott. God bless you on giving it your best shot today on Lake Fork, no matter what you're an Absolutely amazing human being and a Phenomenal talent out on the water. PRAYING for you and your family always. Hope to see you back on Fork next year. God Speed my friend. It was an honor meeting you.
Ott ,I use a first grader’s pencil with the big rubber eraser to hold small parts when routing ,I also drill two small holes in the wiggle lip so the glue has something to grab ahold of
Ott, thank you for these videos on making a crankbait. Could you tell us what kind of paint and finish you use on your crankbaits? Maybe show us a couple of your finished baits.🐟🎣
Would like to see the painting and clearcoat. Its fun to see them come alive with the eyes and paint. Wouldnt mind watching your ( painter) friend and you explain the process. Thx for the videos. I learned some things.
Monel wire would probably work very well, a little stiffer and stronger than copper but still easily bendable. We use it a lot in saltwater fishing. Wire harnesses are standard for bigger saltwater hard baits, even if the bait falls apart around the harness you’ll still catch the fish cause you’ve got wire going from the line tie to the hook. Big tuna poppers and things like yo-zuri bonitas all have full harnesses.
Great how to , packed with what to do and what to watch for info ! Teaching flows from you like water through a creek ! God has given you many talents and abilities and for that we are truly thankful .
I’ve really enjoyed this 3 part series. It something that I have thought about doing several times. Thanks for sharing! Would like to understand more about bill angle and placement.
Thank you Ott. This has been a great series and I am grateful you kicked them out pretty quick. I was really looking forward to number three and it did not dissappoint. Now I have to clean up my garage and grab some balsa and copper wire!
Really enjoying these videos! Im impressed sir! I do my own jigs, spinnerbaits, and buzzbait but have never tried the crankbaits. It looks like a lot of fun! Keep up the awesome work, and i wish you the best of luck with the remainder of the season from here in Rutledge, TN!
Awesome series this is Ott! I was always nervous using single line ties and hook hangers on my balsa bait's that it wouldn't be strong enough and always did through wire... but this may have made it easier and faster for me,god bless you and your family Ott!!
how does the balsa not get messed up from testing bait in water and soaking water up I was asking that on last video was just wondering if the amount of time u test baits it not enough to damage wood.
Great video… A lipless crank related question - I’ve had people suggest when fishing a lipless through grass (Florida heavy) to remove the front hook. I always thought it would run weird and hook up ratio would sacrifice. Thoughts??
great videos Otter! Are baits you made featured in this video closely similar to Mr Knuckles "Petey"? From these videos I know now "how to" the hook hangers and line tie. I can now replicate the "Petey". I am down to only 6 of them.
Great series! Will you be doing one on the clear coat, paint, and sealer? Can you at least tell us what type of ones you recommend? I’d also like to know the gauge wire you use.
Thank you for responding so soon. I also love the episodes with your son and JOJ series…praying for a great rest of your season and can’t wait to watch what you post next! I
Looking forward to the video! My brother and I are big fans and are from Canton, NC and we have a podcast called Messer Brothers Presents. We were wanting to reach out and see if you’d like to be a guest on our show with us? I look forward to hearing from you and hope you have a great day
Ott, this was very cool! Would really like to see a video of the paint and clear coat process.
Thanks Ott. You are a natural teacher. My wife is going to hate you as I now have another hobby. Thanks
Two questions: what size wire are you using for the hook eyes and what brand glue do you usually use for crankbaits?

Loved this mini series very much! Would like to see the finishing process also, thanks Ott!
Video for the sealing and painting process next😀 ? This was a very cool series!!
Thanks again for another great teaching video be safe and blessed and save me a cpl on douglas lol see you on the next one

Great tip for you OTT , you can shave the weight with a knife so you can make any bait a suspender/slow float after you’ve done testing
Awesome videos I really enjoyed them. I would like to see the paint and clear coat process
Well explained, injoyed all 3 videos. Thanks
Awesome series of videos!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Great video series on building crankbaits. Hope to try making some one day. God Bless.
Great videos! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge! Always look forward to the next video!

All of this was very interesting to me! Just goes to show the amount of time that goes into handmade baits! 🎣
I like all your videos, keep up the good work.
Loving the series, I build me own rods, thinking of getting the tools for crankbaits. You might have me hooked
Very good and knowledgeable information I enjoyed it very much
Awesome vid very informative! Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge not many people espically pro anglers would do that!!
Excellent series, thanks 🙏
Many people claim that the eyelets in balsa don't hold, but that doesn't seem to be the case, does it? Good job
They do just fine with the right glue.
Great series love the channel can’t wait to try and make my own
That was an awesome series!!!!👊🏻 Enjoyed watching you make those crankbaits and I know that's not in my department!!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!!!
Got any videos of you fishing these?! That'd be cool to watch.
This video series is great. I have couple of questions, what size wire, brand of glue you like to use, and were do you get the weights from?
Definitely going to try this
Great series 💯👏
Cool video series Ott. Good luck my friend and may god bless you and your family.
Very neat to see that process!! Thanks, Ott!!
That is pretty cool making them I will have to give that a shot I enjoy things like that thanks for all your info
Thanks for a great set of videos. So much information and fun stuff.
It would be nice to see the painting steps. Even if you don’t paint your own.
Wondering about the gauge wire you use.
Cool video Ott

How can we get our hands on a custom one of kind crankbait? 😆.. Great video!
What is the preferred glue?
Might have missed it but what do you seal these with?
how does the balsa not get messed up from testing bait in water and soaking water up I was asking that on last video was just wondering if the amount of time u test baits it not enough to damage wood.
No. They dry out completely in a day or two
Great video… A lipless crank related question - I’ve had people suggest when fishing a lipless through grass (Florida heavy) to remove the front hook. I always thought it would run weird and hook up ratio would sacrifice. Thoughts??
Not sure. I would be scared for sure.
@@OttDeFoeFishing thanks Ott! Good luck the rest of your season good sir

It is similar.
Do you buy the lure bills precut or do you make them yourself?
I buy them
Pretty cool bro.... ever make. a segmented swimbait?
No I’ve not. It would be hard!
I made one...not as hard as you would think......it is just time consuming
Great series! Will you be doing one on the clear coat, paint, and sealer? Can you at least tell us what type of ones you recommend? I’d also like to know the gauge wire you use.
Maybe in the future. It’s not been filmed yet.
Thank you for responding so soon. I also love the episodes with your son and JOJ series…praying for a great rest of your season and can’t wait to watch what you post next! I
Anyone know where to get precut circuit board lips from???
Would you keep that sinking crankbait for a deeper diving one?
You could. It would get hung a lot.
Is this actually the way everybody makes the hard baits
Ott, I missed parts 1 and 2 but really enjoyed part 3. Do you usually use the ones you make?
I do some times. The OG’S from Rapala are my designs.
Is that gorilla glue u are using
Where is the video? This isnt working
It’s just set to premiere. It’s not posted yet
Does he ever answer anybody? Questions and such?
Yes I do! When I have time.
