    Enjoyed listening to explanation of the technique! So as I was watching, I got thinking how to do this with my setup(RB with DDJ-400 and Xone K2). Loaded up RB and found out I had already, once upon a time, setup my PadFX2 for roll exactly like in this video. Could start practicing right away with your tips!

    Glad you said stay creative because I always start with what its supposed to be then at some point I change it, it will sound like the original then it gets bastardized. Very much like Salsa Dancing where there is a routine but somewhere in the middle you throw in something, just dont lose the timing.😀😀😀😀

    • @DJLiftOFF
      @DJLiftOFF  Рік тому

      Ahaha I know exactly what you mean! As long as you understand the concepts, that’s all that really matters! Creativity is above all 💯

  • @djshanebond0092

    Great tutorial as always. Just a side note:!I have the DDJ-SB2 and you only have to hold the previous roll of the one you’re using. For example, you can start with the one beat roll pad, then hold down the 1/2 beat roll pad and let go of the 1 beat and then hold down the 1/4 beat and let go of the 1/2 beat pad and so on. So you don’t have to hold all the previous pads the entire time. Maybe it’s different on the Rev-1 but I hope this helps. Thanks again for all the great content bro.

    • @DJLiftOFF
      @DJLiftOFF  2 роки тому +1

      Appreciate you bro 🙏🏾🙏🏾 - and yup, you’re completely right. I for some reason have a habit of holding the previous pad aha, but thanks for sharing! 💯

    • @m.i.g5362
      @m.i.g5362 2 роки тому +1

      But interesting on what you have to say on keeping the energy up on the dance floor then I'll tell you how i dj and why a slow down the energy

    • @DJLiftOFF
      @DJLiftOFF  2 роки тому +2

      🙏🏾🙏🏾 thanks bro!! Most definitely can go over that. It’s really a skill to know when to slow things down a little, or keep things nice and steady before you have a high energy part of the set. People get tired fasho, so if I’m doing a 10-2 set, I want high energy from like 11:15 - 1 then maybe slow it down, then end with high energy or ballroom, all depends. Timing can change due to the crowd but that’s what I usually aim for.
      But def bro!

      @m.i.g5362 2 роки тому

      @@DJLiftOFF your 100 percent rite dj liftoff !! When i use to dj in clubs and lounges i would pick the energy on certain times but i use to do that so the bar could make there money and to avoid fights !! But when i say drop not like corny songs Good ones. In my case i played a little bit of everything mostly spanish but it depends on the crowd !! But the 🔑 is to read the crowd and keep it moving not staying stuck on one thing all night !! And last thing your not going to please everyone !!
