I fell asleep like ten minutes in and got all the way to 3:10:50 before waking up again lol The hurdy gurdy is many things, but a lullaby is something I’d least expect haha
I’ve been listening this for the past two hours while reading Christopher Wilson’s delicately-embroidered comic/historical novel, “Hurdy Gurdy.” I must say, Vinogradov is a Hurdy Guru. And… the Hurdy Gurdy apparently does NOT have a tradition of alternate tunings 😉‼️
Have you played the game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance.? If not it’s a medieval survival game and the music would work well, also The Witcher 3 I feel would benefit from this music.
I'm sure there are several games would benefit from this music. It has an almost 'haunting' quality to it, the way it hangs in the air, slow and melodic with elements of fast and brief beats sprinkled throughout to complement these rhythms.
This playlist is a god-send, just finished reading The First Law trilogy while listening to this on repeat and it fit so well! Thank you for compiling it.
Amazing trilogy didn't expect to see a shout out to it. I invite everyone to listen to the audiobook, Steven Pacey is the perfect narrator for Joe Abercrombie's dark fantasy vision.
People often say it's not medieval or Renaissance music, but you also have to keep in mind there was a lot music not written anywhere. What we know from medieval music is sually the more popular music. Also Tempo and loudness changes were more common then.
@@Gongodler Also, since the instrument has somewhat remained similar (the rennaisance variants atleast), music like this could've been possible. Ofcourse no amplification through electronics tho.

This instrument, no matter what you play on it, has a specific tone, and all the songs link up in a way, I love it
Andrey Vinogradov is a master. May the Lord grant him a long life.
SECONDED
На концерте у него просто непередаваемо!
Literally over four hours of the best instrument. Perfect to put in when doing something for hours like working. Thank you for this

When I was a student I fell asleep listening to a horn concerto when the sun set and they had few lights on.
Ah, finally a playlist this pureblood Slytherin can dragon ride into a good night's sleep .... Pern here I come!!!

Turn off the music in the game Crusader Kings 3and play this on repeat, it's amazing how well it fits!

@@patch1752 Holy shit thank you for the recommendation !

Get out of my head! This has been my go-to CK3 track for a few weeks.
@patch1752 witcher 3 already uses the hurdy gurdy. Most of the music is the hurdy gurdy and tin flute.

Perfect, such a great series

Mój ulubiony instrument. Lira korbowa. Szkoda że takiej nie mam. Zawsze mi się przypomina z Wiedźminem.
Love me some Hurdy mf-ing Gurdy
I didn't even know this instrument exists, this playlist is mind blowing
This goes directly to my soul...
Thank you. It shudders me in a happy frequency.
Andrey is legend in my book. Wonderful playlist ALICE!!
Pongo este video y me motiva de alguna manera a hacer cosas en mi casa y en la huerta. Es un instrumento muy lindo ✌🏼
Bonjour ; très belle découverte. Merci !
Love the sound of the instruments
EU gosto muito. Sou de origem Celta.
🐺🍀🐗
Such a beautiful instrument, haunting and elegant. Thank you for sharing this
I'm playing this when going to sleep tonight, i expect to see visions of medieval horror.
Bless you, Alice.
Удивительный инструмент, грустная музыка для тех, кто хочет взгрустнуть, а может даже и всплакнуть...
По мне, так не грустная совсем
такой зловещий тон
Be a fine list o tunes
These instruments are a lot older than that form of speak
I want to learn to play one of these, but instruments are really expensive.
i was making a playlist with all the songs that i could find of hurdy, and i find this! THANKYOUUU is exactly what i wnated!🧡💛💚
Haha I could tell it was from Vinagradov. Very characteristic sound
Thank you for this wonderful playlist! It's so sad that it has so unexpectedly few views.
Thank you for this!
Lost my grandson to a poisonous drug supply a year ago tomorrow. This fits my mood so much I think I'll have to buy myself a hurdy gurdy.
I’m so sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family. ❤
I am so very sorry to hear that. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
Thank you!

Very complex instrument for a simple sound.
you should also add guilhem desq to these
If I were to add some of this into my music, what are the copyright laws?
How many seconds/ minutes can I use?
🙂
do you have any information about the two instruments in the photograph? they are very cool!

These are nice recordings, but I don't recognise any of these melodies as genuine medieval tunes. The music all sounds rather modern to me.
I was born in 1343 and I can confirm that these are authentic.
All of these are by Andrey Vinogradov and are largely either modern compositions or Russian folk music

That's why many are labelled "Neo-Medieval"
