Dio was one of the few writers in the 80s that didn't write about sex and drugs. I've written plenty of songs about those things myself so I don't have a problem with it but Dio wrote with all these fantasy elements involved and was just different so it was really cool.

I was 11 when Holy Diver came out and did not know who Ronnie James Dio was. My friend Roberto, his uncle visited from Texas and had this album with him. His 1st night here we were all 3 in my backyard. We popped this cassette in the boom box while the uncle rolled what, to this day, is the biggest joint I've ever seen. I'm sixty-five now and still listening to this amazing man everyday. There will never be another one like him to ever walk this planet. He is the "God Of Metal." He was such a humble kindhearted soul who loved his fans, and made sure they knew it. He is a phenomenal LEGEND!!! Thank you so much for sharing this. It made my day!! R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio. I must correct myself. It wasn't Deep Purple It was Rainbow he sang for before Sabbath. Sometimes I get the two confused from time to time. being a senior citizen, and as far as I'm concerned Rainbow is just Deep Purple revamped since most of the members of Rainbow were members of Deep Purple before making or joining Rainbow. They are easy for me to get confused.

You got a long journey ahead of you mate, 50+ plus years of great music that become the basis of many bands that followed. Taking bands and solo musicians that started with blues music the progression to modern music it is a long way, more than a lifetime of listening, Robert Johnson, muddy Waters through to Zeppelin, cream, then Sabbath, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Dio, Judy’s Priest, Iron maiden on to Metallica, Megadeath, to the heavier side. And then you have bands like Aerosmith, UFO, scorpions, Thin Lizzy, Status Quo, Slade, Motörhead, Budgie and many more all leading up to present day Band Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila and so on, each generation taking a bit from the last and adding a little and mixing a little of each. So much good music came out in the late sixties and early seventies that it takes something very special to top it, it was original and experimental at the time with companies like Marshal and Vox developing more powerful fuller sounding amps, Ray Davies of the Kinks cutting up speaker cones with a knife just to get a dirtier sound, more pedals being used to add a little extra and so on. It was an interesting time with all the changes where as today looking back as a younger listener it is harder to see the progression as your ears have been tuned differently, nothing is new just rehashed.
Great point! I think that’s the beautiful thing about music and life in general! You take the good parts of those that came before you! Thanks for the insight and hanging out! 😄

Ronnie James Dio...likr 5'1" of vocal power
No doubt about it! 🔥
Sounded like 6' 1" but with that tiny frame I'll always miss him I thought he was that tall till I met him in at the orbit room Grand Rapids
Ronnie James Dio is the greatest vocalist EVAH!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Without a doubt, probably the greatest voice in Rock EVER!! Ronnie James Dio was a one off, many try to impersonate but none can ever match, the Stage was his playground and he never gave less than his all live, plus he was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet
So glad your stayin in the 70’s and 80’s rock especially 80’s rock!! I So appreciate it!! Finally a reactor that does the music I grew up on and still listen to today! I like the 70s rock but I absolutely love the 80’s rock I feel the 80’s was the best decade of rock! Imo… keep on kickin em out! Love it!!
Having a blast! Thanks so much for watching! 😄
Great reaction! Alot of people & other musicians who were asked what's the best metal song ever they replied "Stargazer "by Rainbow hands down .I know thats just an opinion but the song is truly Epic & would like to hear your what you think, ps. That vocal power you were talking about came from someone barely 5' tall !
I’ve been getting alot of requests for that one so I definitely have to see what all the hype is about! His vocals are just insane and the whole band sounded great! Thanks for hanging out and glad you enjoyed it! 😄
@@setonhillstudiosI've been a Dio fan for 40 yrs & honestly I haven't heard a bad song from him in any of the 3 most known bands he's been in -" Heaven and Hell " when he was with Black Sabbath is one of my all time favorite albums
I clicked on this so fast when it came up in my recommendations. I have been a Dio fan ever since I was a twelve year old little girl. I'm sixty-five now and still listening to this amazing man everyday. There will never be another one like him to ever walk this planet. He is the "God Of Metal." He was a small man at 5'4' but had the voice of a giant. I met him once in 1985 when he played at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was such a humble kindhearted soul who loved his fans, and made sure they knew it. He is a phenomenal LEGEND!!! Thank you so much for sharing this. It made my day!! R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio. You are missed beyond measure! 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thank you so much for watching! His voice blew me away and the entire band was incredible! Can’t wait to hear more!
It's Ronnie James Dio!!! He sang for Deep Purple, and Black Sabbath replacing OZZY before he went solo.
Deep purple? You mean Rainbow?
I must correct myself. It wasn't Deep Purple It was Rainbow he sang for before Sabbath. Sometimes I get the two confused from time to time. being a senior citizen, and as far as I'm concerned Rainbow is just Deep Purple revamped since most of the members of Rainbow were members of Deep Purple before making or joining Rainbow. They are easy for me to get confused.

One of the greatest voices in metal is Ronnie James Dio.
Ronnie James Dio was the best hard rock/metal vocalist ever!
Ronnie James Dio, my man where have you been? You are in for a treat.
