Ladies Michael Bolton covered this song also. Percy Sledge made it famous many, many years ago. But Floyd Cramer who no one ever heard of first sang it.
Austin Brown (high tenor) was singing the lead in this. He did have someone in mind. His girlfriend Amberly was in the studio. He was singing to her. All the guys sing lead - there is no one lead in this group. The person they feel sounds the best sings lead. Such a great group of guys, very humble and down to earth. I'd suggest "End of the Road" - Rob Lundquist (tenor) sings lead in it and he really shows off, but they all sound great. Other suggestions; "Take Me Home Country Roads", "Brothers in Arms", "Can't Stop the Feeling", and "In the Blood" just to name a few. Thanks ladies!! 🖤🍟
When you're performing any song no matter how many times it's been performed by somebody else you go up there and it's now your song like it's never been performed before you make it yours your own style, like it's the first time.
It is so easy to forget that Adam isn't a 'drummer' but in many songs it is also impossible to remember that the stand up bass doing the running bass line is Tim. Honey I'm Good, Dreamer, Crazy - just a couple of the ones with the running bass.
The beatboxer Adam is amazing. They call him a "human drumkit" and also a "freak of nature", in their concerts he does a beatbox solo in the middle of the show and it's crazy good!
Home Free did a fantastic job with the 1966 Percy Sledge hit. This was done during Covid and all the parts were done remotely and edited together. Austin had his girlfriend sitting by the camera so every time he is looking at the camera he is singing to her. Adam Rupp is one of the very best beatboxer/vocal percussionist in the the world. Austin was trained in College in musical theatre so it shows in his stage presence. Recommendations LISTEN TO THE MUSIC 50th anniversary cover of Doobie Brothern hit song, Amazed cover of Lonestar hit, ROAD SWEET ROAD a Home Free original released last Friday. You ladies have a blessed day and a Merry Christmas
When daughter said something about Michael I thought who is Michael. Then I remembered M Bolton recorded it. But I've loved the Percy Sledge version since since 1966 when I was 12. It was such a huge hit back then and people made that their song at their weddings.
There are drum reaction channels that talk about how Adam Rupp actually sounds like a drum set. I've seen them ask if he can play the drums for real. And the answer is Yes, he was an actual jazz drummer. You might like the video of Adam Rupp Drum Solo. Have a blast going down the Home Free rabbit hole. But save Mayday till you know them better 😆
Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
Michael Bolton ??? ,no no no , he tries so hard to be soulful but fails ,I just don't believe him , these guys and others you mention do have heart and soul .
During COVID lockdown, these guys were non-stop recording music and videos from their homes separately and putting together these videos to get us all through. You'll see a lot of videos from this period where they're not in the same room. They're back on the road now and their show was the first live event I went to after reopening. They do have quite a few originals as well as a great sense of humor. Since Christmas is coming up, I suggest "Full of Cheer".
Remember that this was done during the lockdown all of the boys were in their own homes for this recording that's why they were on the monitors. Great reaction ladies.
Percy Sledge would dig out and shake Austin’s hand and every single person In this group because each and every one of them are remarkable. Never heard beatboxing like the way he doesn’t. Not a short song and fact he could do it for that long no problem. WOW
This group has been around since 2000 and has released at least 200 videos and 200 to 250 shows a year from the U.S Canada and Europe but what a bunch of great guys they do benefits for veterans, antibulling and special events for kids.
Their arrangement in this one...band members on TV screens, was done during the pandemic. So this is how they kept us entertained even when no one could leave their house.
Hello Ladies, Great reaction to Home Free!!! You Two are now official "Home Fries" and we welcome you into Home Free's Fan Base Family (that's what we call ourselves)!!! Please be ready to embark & enjoy the deep "rabbit-hole" musical catalog Home Free has to offer...No matter what song you react to, you will never go wrong with them because they never ever miss!!! No disrespect to all of the other great A Capella groups out there, in my humble opinion Home Free is (both collectively & individually) the most versatile vocal band on the planet!!!
Welcome to the Home frys! That's what the fans of Home Free call themselves. Home Free has a huge catalog of fantastic music. The guys names are Austin (high tenor) Rob (middle tenor) Adam Chance (baritone) Adam Rupp (beat boxer) and Tim (the bass). The group won the show the sing off nationally. Here are some suggestions, ( country roads, Bless the broken road, Brothers in Arms, in the blood, Christmas songs, oh holy night, do you hear what I hear)...
Austin (lead here) and Adam (beatboxer) killed it. This was during Covid so no one was together and I thought the use of tv’s was clever. Percy Sledge was the original singer with lots of covers since. Austin was great. Enjoyed your reactions
Home Free is just simply amazing. They can sing anything. During covid to keep all their fans entertained they released a new song every other week on Friday. It became Home Free Friday. They have so many amazing covers, but also quite a few original ones too. One of my favorites is Snowglobe. Really enjoyed watching your reaction and can't wait to see yall do more Home Free.
Home Free does an excellent job covering "When A Man Loves A Woman". The original was recorded by Percy Sledge and went to #1 on the charts in 1966. Twenty-five years later, pop superstar, Michael Bolton, recorded the song and it went to #1 on the pop charts in 1991. Both of those versions of this song are outstanding and worth checking out, too.
There is so much going on in every Home Free song even long time Home Fries are blown away. We're always amazed at that attention to detail they put into every piece of music. Enjoy the ride.
Some more Home Free recommendations; "End of the Road" a great Boys to Men cover and one of their best. "Brothers in Arms", "How Great Thou Art" or "Helplessly Hoping" for incredible 5 part harmonies where Adam Rupp sings instead of beat boxing. "O' Holy Night", "Do You Hear What I Hear", and "Mary Did You Know" for Christmas\Spiritual. "Blue Ain't Your Color" or "Folsom Prison Blues" for a different take on some country songs. "The Butts Remix" and "Country Fried Pop Medley" for a laugh. "In the Blood", "My Church", and "Amazed" because they are just really great songs. "Mayday" but don't listen to this until after you get to know these guys.
When I first heard this song was going to be covered by HOME FREE, I knew it was going to be my favorite version. Everytime Austin looks into the camera, I smile and wink lol
You need to listen to the original version by Percy Sledge! It is a 60's song after all. but I think you would love Home Free's cover of Crosby, Stills ,and Nash 's "Helplessly Hoping"
I'm only 36 and it's so great to hear you ladies appreciate the song and what it's about because of the message! Ya'll have great reactions! Austin had his girlfriend in studio and was singing to her as he looked at the camera 👍
So easy to forget that Adam doesn't actually have a drum set. Unbelievable. The backing vocals are beautiful. And then there's Austin out there in front flirting with the camera. And his girlfriend, who was standing by the camera. For another different sound, try Helplessly Hoping or Listen to the Music. But you really can't go wrong with any of their videos.
Trust me. Before you go any further get headphones, it will make everything 100% better. You will even want to go back to past performances and kick yourselves for not having them. Great reaction, ladies.
A couple of the fun one's they do: "Sea Shanty Medley" and "The Butts Remix" But they have so many good songs. I also recommend "How Great Thou Art" and "Go Rest High Upon the Mountain"
Over the ear headphones are a MUST when listening to acapella. So many nuances that cannot be heard without them. Love your reactions!! Keep them coming, you will not be disappointed at all!
Home Free as a group, is so remarkable, not only their talent, but also creativity. They sing all genres, can be hysterically funny or serious in their messaging. Above all, they are so relatable and genuine good guys. Each singer is lead quality and the voice best suited to a particular song will be the lead. I suggest you react to their cover of End Of The Road by Boys To Men, Take Me Home Country Roads, they all have a solo part and it’s phenomenal. Welcome to this wonderful Home Free rabbit hole.
Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is an amazing talent (as are they all). It's been said that he swallowed a drum kit when he was a kid, and he must have swallowed a harmonica as well (see their cover of "Man Of Constant Sorrow")! I love that their covers respect the original, while still making it their own. They covered Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA", and later Mr. Greenwood approached them to do it again with him (and the US Air Force Singing Sergeants). They've done several covers with the original legends: "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" with Charlie Daniels, "Elvira" with The Oakridge Boys, "American Pie" with Don Maclean, just to name a few.
Since it’s nearly Christmas.. their version of Do You Hear What I Hear is amazing. They also have an original Christmas song written by Tim (the bass singer) called Snow Globe, it’s a great song and video.. great reactions, new sub as of yesterday 👍
You HAVE to listen to Home Free singing 'Ring of Fire' next.... they are joined by another bass singer called Avi Kaplan... trust me, your both going to love it and be totally amazed... Avi Kaplan is also worth a listen to, incredible voice and song writer in his own right...
Loved your reactions (facial, body movements, especially eyes). As a bona fide Home Fry, I can attest that there isn't a song that they don't do very well. For the Christmas season, they have many... I suggest "Mary Did You Know". Enjoy the rabbit hole OBTW, Austin was singing to his lady Amberly, so you are right, he was singing his love to her.
Austin has a very awesome voice. The harmonies are awesome as well. Not to mention the Beat Boxer Adam Rupp. He is a Beat Boxer extraordinaire! Love your reactions!
Where are your headphones? You MUST wear headphones to get the real full a cappella effect... Ask any other reactor. I'm a huge huge a cappella enthusiast. May I also suggest starting a 'playlist' of Home Free- Pentatonix- and Voice Play so it is easier for the peeps to watch what songs you've covered and make request. I just now subscribed because your reactions are GREAT, and I'm looking forward to following you down the deep deep rabbit hole of a cappella... Keep up the good work! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you, this was a request I made probably along with others. I surely won't have to convince you how great this song is. They are all great singers that have great voices. They struggled during COVID and did some songs separated like this. Thank you!!
Home Free is such a great acapella group. I love Home Free and Peter Hollens another singer on UA-cam did a collab together of U2s 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for ' it's amazing and they each have their patrons sing the chorus.
Lovely reaction, thank you for sharing so much. There is nothing I can add that isn't in the comments already, so I will just say that Austin's lovely smile and flirty eyes can make me forget that I have children older than him. hehe
Ladies, I loved your reaction! The faces were so cute! Austin put his lady right next to the camera. She is so lucky! Please react to Take Me Home Country Roads to see the talents of all 5 singers, they all take a lead. Its magical.
Great reaction ladies! A newer song you may want to react to is Listen to the Music, a cover of the Doobie Brothers classic. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, does a fantastic job with the sound effects.
Loved your reaction. I have always loved the original Percy Sledge version of this song. I didn't know if it would work countrified-but, like you said, it came out great. ( I have no idea what that sound was supposed to be either.)
If you would like to bridge that Generation Gap, look for "Elvira" by Home Free. They sing it with the Oak Ridge Boys who had a monster hit with it back in the early 80s. Two generations performing together seamlessly.
He was rumored to be singing to his girlfriend in this set. She was supposedly sitting right there before him. You two would enjoy their cover of "Bless the Broken Road", "American Pie" or "In the Blood". Another excellent cover is Haley Reinhart and Post Modern Jukebox doing "Creep" or "Black Hole Sun" or Morgan James covering "Dream On".
If you want to see someone else carrying the lead, and another genre of music - I suggest Home Free's cover of Boyz 2 Men's "End of the Road". Love the reaction, keep 'em coming !
you should try another great cover tribute by Home Free, the Doobie Brothers "Listen to the music" even their cover of John Denver's "Country Roads." if you want a bit more fun and still a great cover song. their version of Huey Lewis and the news " Working for a living."
Yes, this was during lockdown so they all were in their own locations. Sooner or later you'll get to the drum solo by Adam that will make you crazy 🤪 and FUN is their middle name so you ain't seen nothing yet. I'm glad you two are sharing time together as adults. The memories will be precious to you, someday.
I love your reactions to the boys. With Christmas coming in just a matter of days, they have a number of beautiful Christmas songs. Oh Holy night, Mary did you know, and number of other ones. I think you will love them. Thank you
A small warning. You should not react to Home Free's cover of 'Mayday' by CAM until you know them a better. There is a surprise in that video that people who are new to the group usually miss. To get the full effect of 'Mayday' you need to know a bit about what each member does beforehand. Here are a few of my favorites, they're covers of, 'Think A Little Less', 'Die A Happy Man', 'Thank God I'ma Country Boy' and their original song, 'Why Not.'
Home Free is one of my favorite acapella groups, my top three is Pentatonix, Home Free and Voice Play. They are each outstanding, but each have their own vibe in how they make their videos. I think of Pentatonix as more classy type group, Home Free a bit more County, even though they do more than Country, and Voice Play the theatrical group, that always plays and dresses the part. Great reaction, new subscriber! I know you'll get to the other two eventually.
This song single handedly has pushed the national birth rate higher.
lol.
Singing full out like that without back up music pushing, is real talent. Ask any singer. Excellent !!!
We Home Fries love Amberley
We love Amberly because after she shook it off, she bashed Austin in Brother. Note, she showed him no mercy in the background of the next scene.
Austin sells the song better than the guy who came up with it.
"Brothers in Arms" is one that is very different from the original, but it flat works.
Matthew Austin Brown's vocals in this are incredible! He also has some great songs he wrote himself on his channel....that he does with Amberly!🥰
When you're performing any song no matter how many times it's been performed by somebody else you go up there and it's now your song like it's never been performed before you make it yours your own style, like it's the first time.

There's no genre they can't do. They are very funny also. GREAT reaction guys 🥰🥰
Thank you so much 😊
The only thing that ever caught me off guard..was the Italian opera song.. was I the only one waiting for something funny to happen?
Requesting the Sea Shanty! 🙏😁⚓⛵🐋🍺🎶
@@gravitypronepart2201 lol great suggestion 😁
@@leftalone4264 🤣🤣 I wasn't expecting anything funny but I totally understand why you would think that . They're hilarious 😂

I'll add my recommend for their cover of Listen to the music....it's off the charts...also their originals DIVE Bar Saints and Understand.
Do You Hear What I Hear by Home Free is a must. Austin Brown is an incredible tenor. All five guys are incredible. Thanks Bye
Welcome to the Home frys! That's what the fans of Home Free call themselves. Home Free has a huge catalog of fantastic music. Thank you!! I think the next one you should do is Home Free's cover of *Brothers in Arms.* PLEASE
Another great reaction to my favorite group.
Now you must check out the funny side of Home Free. The Butts Remix.
Austin (lead here) and Adam (beatboxer) killed it. This was during Covid so no one was together and I thought the use of tv’s was clever. Percy Sledge was the original singer with lots of covers since. Austin was great. Enjoyed your reactions
They never miss on any song. They are the best out there right now. Home Free mood is a thing
Austin has a voice that is Perfect and he knows how to sell it as well. Knew you 2 would be blown away
You two have just got started on these guys. Everything they do is gold. Welcome to the family, you are now considered " home frys".
Home Free is just simply amazing. They can sing anything. During covid to keep all their fans entertained they released a new song every other week on Friday. It became Home Free Friday. There are so many songs from them!! 2 of my favorites that come to mind, "Blue Ain't Your Color" " Brothers In Arms ".
2 suggestions that give a good idea of how well they do harmonize together are "Helplessly Hoping" and "End of the Road".
Now that are familiar with Home Free and have already reacted to Rightous brothets unchained melody, Home Free did an awesome cover.
“Music is one of the greatest gifts we have.” Absolutely. One of the greatest art forms. Well said.
Home Free-sea shanty
Some more Home Free recommendations;
"End of the Road" a great Boys to Men cover and one of their best.

Beautiful song, Austin did it well...Loved the reaction 😀
Austin Brown (lead singer) and Tim Foust (bass) do a great cover of "My Maria".
Incredible version, Tim really shows off that 5-Octave range in that one
Trust me. Before you go any further get headphones, it will make everything 100% better. You will even want to go back to past performances and kick yourselves for not having them. Great reaction, ladies.

A tremendous Christmas song they sing is ...Mary did you know...the best I've ever heard. Very moving

I think you are ready for Home Free Drum Solo. Adam Rupp has won the international beat boxer championship two years in a row.

You need to check out Adam Rupp drum solo. And that will give you a picture of what he is capable of and plus more.
Great reaction ladies! A newer song you may want to react to is Listen to the Music, a cover of the Doobie Brothers classic. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, does a fantastic job with the sound effects.
Adam Rupp drum solo will show some of what the beatboxer can do.
Y'all Sisters? Please let y'alls Momma know she Bootifuls!!!
Home Free "Butts Remix" is a MUST SEE!!! Lol
Can hardly wait to see Mommas reaction! LMBO
Loved your reaction. I have always loved the original Percy Sledge version of this song. I didn't know if it would work countrified-but, like you said, it came out great. ( I have no idea what that sound was supposed to be either.)
Y'all really need to react to an Adam Rupp Drum Solo video. You'll be amazed!
This is my favorite song of Austin’s. Loved your reaction! ❤
Wonderful reaction ladies. I love to see you both smiling. Great job by Austin Brown and the guys. You make these videos more enjoyable.
Hello ladies, they do the song Crazy, and the harmonies are absolutely beautiful. You should check it out, thanks.
For Christmas you should hear Home Free's version of Mary Did You Know?
Going to see them again live in Nashville at the Ryman Friday! Cant wait! Love me some Homefree!
Put Home Free's "Brothers In Arms" a priority. It will make you cry.... about fallen soldiers.
You two are terrific. I love the wonderful mother daughter dynamic.
Austin really shined on this one, they all did. Enjoyed your reaction! ❤
WOW !!!! incredible !!!
If you want to see someone else carrying the lead, and another genre of music - I suggest Home Free's cover of Boyz 2 Men's "End of the Road". Love the reaction, keep 'em coming !
Thank YOU!
you should try another great cover tribute by Home Free, the Doobie Brothers "Listen to the music" even their cover of John Denver's "Country Roads." if you want a bit more fun and still a great cover song. their version of Huey Lewis and the news " Working for a living."
Great reaction. Love you guys.
Thank you
I love this version of the song!
Absolutely awesome!!! You guys need to hear the original by Percy Sledge back in the 60’s!!!
He was SANGING !
You always make sense. I love both of your opinion
