- In this videoshow how to install the Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 cables. I install both the 24 Pin Motherboard Lian Li strimer plus V2 cable and the Lian Li Strimer Plus v2 Tipple 8pin GPU cable. With the Lian Li Strimner Plus cable I was able to get an adapter to connect to a Corsair lighting node can control with iCue, can I control the Lian Li Stimer Plus V2 with iCue? I have a go using the old method and also try USB, but I could not get it to work!
Let me know if anyone finds a method to do this!

i have written before another video video you had. I got it working with icue with old controller v1 version. It works right away. I have also tried all sorts of ways it does not work.
Yeah I meant to mention you found that in the video, forgot to mention it! Might do a quick follow up vid to show that for people that might want to use that method. Thanks for sharing 👍
Can i have the link to buy that controller v1 thanks 🙏🏾
@@charlie888ize just Aliexpres or ebay
@@merkekeruysat link ebay please i try look but couldn’t find it 😢
Hi guys, I'm from Brazil and Version V2 works, I'm using the lighting node pro controller, the difference between version V1 and V2 is in the L-Connect 3 software. With Lian Li Strimer V1 you had to configure the controller to control the ARGB through the Motherboard and in V2 you have to connect the USB cable to the internal Motherboard and install L-Connect 3, in the Quick/Sync Lighting menu, enable the MB Lighting Sync option so that the Motherboard controls the ARGB, then connect the Strimer ARGB cable on the lighting node pro controller using a converter cable and then just make the settings in ICUE on one of the channels that is connected.
Bro you’re the man!! Your instructions are on the money and they worked! Thanks!!!
thank you very much from Spain!
You are best bro thanks
I came here to see how to connect the PSU and Graphics cables and you answered quickly. Thank you! and keep up the good work.
Not sure which exact Corsair controllers you are using but is there any reason (I am using Strimer V1 to adapter) that I couldn’t forego the Lighting Node Pro and just use one of the LED slot on the Commander Pro connected with the adapter cable to the Lian Li Controller directly? Any advice would be appreciated I have 10 RGB Corsair fans so have the Commander Pro, Commander Core XT, Lian Li Controller and an RGB hub for the RGB for the fans plugged into the Commander Pro. I am setting up a new PC now and space is becoming dire so adding the add’l controller and wires might be a pain. Thank you
Hey, yeah the LED slot on the commander will be fine! I just went for the lighting node as its the cheaper option if you don't have any commander etc with an LED slot.
@@kevlargamingpcs9802 awesome thank you! I appreciate the response, your videos were really helpful for wiring these mess of Corsair fans and strimer cables
So what strimer would I get for a 4070 ti aero
So in the 8 pin port in the gpu I only have one slot. And only one of the 8 pins light up. If this how I have to have it now ? The original black 8 pin has its original connector then about also coming out of it about 4cm of wires then another connector and even plugging in both connectors to the lian li strimmer lights in the back ended doesn’t do the trick. If I switch them round the other one lights up so it’s no faulty it’s more than power is only going into one of them. Any thoughts ?
So sounds like you have a gpu that only needs 1 8pin cable? And I don't think lian li do a single 8 pin strimmer cable, only designed for 2x8 pin or 3x8 pin gpus. So yes I think it sounds like it will only work properly when fully plugged into a gpu.
@@kevlargamingpcs9802 even when I plug it into the one which isn’t plugged in it still lights up the inactive one so not sure if that ends the issue 😕 my original 8 pin cable actually has to output socket things obviously I only have 1 input so it doesn’t matter but how come the 1st supplies power but the extended one attacked doesn’t ? Seems like a wasted but of wire but surely not right ?
@@kevlargamingpcs9802 for example the one that isn’t plugged into the gpu and is just hanging is the one currently lighting up? Any ideas ?
@mcocadmit4923 interesting, I'm afraid I'm really not sure. Ive never had that situation, only ever had the cable where I'm using all the connections
Great Video! but that means no more full icue ecoystem :( they Look really good in your PC tho, cheers :D
Thanks! Yeah that's a pain, hopefully I'll find a way one day to link it to iCue!
I am waiting patiently because my 3x8 is v2 and cant connect to old controller.
Hey, based on your comment I assume you saw my follow up video where I used the old controller. (And I guess your old controller must be for the 2x8 pin cable).
I'm still keeping my eye out for another method, nothing found yet.
@@kevlargamingpcs9802 Is there an old controller for 3x8 pin?
@@ondb yeah checkout this vid, I explain that. With the old cables the 3x8 pin cable came with a compatible controller as the on that comes with the motherboard cable doesn't fit the 3x8.

Hi Kev, it took me a while to find this vid, I've got a similar setup but with the 4000D Airflow.
How did you manage to find a L-connect V2 controller? I can't find one anywhere and I've got both the GPU and Mobo Strimmer Plus V2. I'm in the UK too so, shouldn't be any different finding the L-connect V2.
Really need that synchronization in my life 😅😂
@@MidLifeGamerGuy hey, so my v2 controller came in the box the the MotherBoard strimmer plus v2 cable, didn't yours come with one!? That's odd, as I don't think they sell the v2 controller separately.
It is possible to connect directly to the motherboard? I have the strimer plus v2 8pin, whitouth controller. Thx!
Hey, I'm pretty sure they do all come with the motherboard rgb connection canle so you can connect to your motherboard (as long as your motherboard has the right rgb connection)
If my GPU has 1x8 + 1x6 pin connection and I want to use the rgb lights via Icue, which version of Lian Li would you recommend and is it even possible to connect the GPU cable on a video board that does not have the standard 2x8 or 3x8 connection?
Hey, think I just answered most of this on your other comment. But I would suggest getting v1 cables if you want to control via icue, as the v1 controller is easier to get working in icue
Hey did you ever find a way to get the strimer v2 to work with icue with the strimer v2s controller. I have the 5v 4p adapter and a commander core and lightning node core cant get it to work. Is the only way to get it to icue is via led port?
hi, I'm afraid not. someone in the comments said something about a setting in the Ian li software that might get it to work (still using that corsair adapter method) but i sold my adapter with the old cables so haven't had a chance to try.
@@kevlargamingpcs9802 I was reading some posts about that setting and it started that they opened L-Connect and changed that setting to motherboard control, closed the program and tried icue and it didn't work. Lian Li said they didn't colab with Asus (users board) to make it work? So it sounds like it can be done but the software needs to be fixed.
