    Thank you so much for this video! It’s extremely well-made. I had two quick questions:
    1. Can you skip the ARGB cable and only have the SATA plugged in if your motherboard does not support ARGB?
    2. If your GPU has a single 8-pin port, can you remove half of the cables and reposition the remaining to be in the center of the LED strips?
    Thanks!

    • @BuildsWithV
      @BuildsWithV  4 роки тому +17

    I just got these and installed them today. Thanks for making this video as it helped me flip around the RGB cable for my GPU. I had no trouble getting the 24 pin to work, but couldn't figure out why my triple 8 pin cable was backwards and how to fix it without breaking anything. It's all back together and looks awesome. Good luck to anyone else installing these, it's worth it if you are an RGB enthusiast.

    • @acidwizard6528
      @acidwizard6528 2 роки тому

      @@MORENO_ROG3 It has all the standard LED colors and several different patterns. White is an option and for each color you can choose a pattern, the speed of that pattern and the brightness. This is if you use the controller that comes with the strimers. You can also connect it to your motherboard and control it through software which should allow you to make your own custom color, although at the cost of using the excellent patterns that are designed explicitly for the strimers.

    Another great video, now, don’t slow down 😁 I am a little confused. You stated that you can simply connect the SATA for power, and you made it seem like there was no need to connect ANY of the RGB cables. But, if you did not, you would not be able to control any of the lights/colours, right? Or would that simply be done via the controller?

    • @BuildsWithV
      @BuildsWithV  4 роки тому +4

      Thank you 🙏 so the only cable needed is the sata power cable. The lighting is controlled with the controller. Optionally you can also connect the addressable RGB cable so you can switch from controller to software control (if you wanna mess with more lighting effects).

    At 7:41 you show a cable that is not included in the 8 pin connector box. I got a 3 pin connector but not the same as you are showing, the one that came with mine was a black cable that is attached the RGB lights. Please let me know If I need to return for a new one or if I am missing something (im new to PC building)

      In the 8-pin box there should be a 3-pin addressable RGB that connects from the cable that is attached to the RGB cable to your ARGB port on your motherboard. If its missing I would definitely request a exchange. Unless you are using the module that came with the 24-pin cable. Then you'd be okay.

      @@BuildsWithV Okay thanks, the only 3-pin connector I got didn't attach anywhere on my motherboard after about 20 minutes of looking. Going to reach out and see if I can exchange it! Thanks!

    Hey V, just had a quick question. At 3:20 I see you can completely remove the RGB element from the included cables, can you also do this on the 24 pin cable? I wanted to remove the included cables and just attach the RGB part to my custom sleeved cables.
    Ps - great informative video - keep up the good work!

    • @BuildsWithV

      I believe the 24-pin can also be completely taken apart. The reason I say “I believe” is cause I haven’t actually tried it but the cables seem to both be made the same way. I’d assume the 24-pin is also able to be flipped because some motherboards would need it flipped.
      Thank you so much 😊

    Hello, I have one question.,Maybe you can answer on it? My case is MATREXX 70 ADD-RGB 3F. I just need to know, if I can connect this to the DeepCool A-RGB splitter. I have biunch of A-RGB fans and my motherboard have 2x A-RGB (3-pin) header. SO I have two bunch of A-RGB fans for those two A-RGB headers. I just need to know, may I connect this LIan Li STrimer PLus to my A-RGB case splitter and use it synced with my other A-RGB fans?

    I’m trying to connect the 8 pin to my gpu( rtx 3060 xc) however there’s a piece hanging out should I be worried about that or is it fine as it is. Alsoonce I get the software after building the pc can I no longer use the remote to change colors and patterns or do I neeed to keep it mounted somewhere in my build

    • @BuildsWithV
      @BuildsWithV  3 роки тому +1

      The 2 pins that hang out are perfectly fine over there or you can tuck them away. The controller does still have to be plugged in but once you switch to software you won’t need to mess with the controller anymore

    Is it possible to not plug in the sata cable and just control through your motherboard the rgb through the motherboard app?

    • @BuildsWithV
      @BuildsWithV  4 роки тому

      To get power for the 24-pin unfortunately you have to plug in the sata cable. Idk why they did it this way. For the 8-pin you can use only your motherboard power

    did you plug the 2 8pin pcie one directly into an argb header on the mobo or the argb hub/splitter? or did you plug it into the included lian li controller, and then take its argb wire and plug it into either one of those? because on their website it says not to plug into a splitter and must plug it directly to the motherboard.

    Hi, please help, in 1:02 when you say : you can use this with only an 8 pin ... i have a GPU with only 8 pin, so, if i connect only 8 pin, will the rest of strimmer works ? in my opinion if i connect only 8 pin, then only those connected will be lighted, not the rest, can you please confirm and give me more infirmation please ? my gpu is Sapphire 5500 XT, thank you

      The whole cable will still light up no matter how many pins are plugged in. The rgb portion is totally separate from the cables itself.

    So you need to flip these cables when using vertcal gpu `? Also what software do you use to set the colours ?

    • @BuildsWithV
      @BuildsWithV  3 роки тому +1

      Just depends on how your GPU connectors are facing. Some face down and some are flipped.
