Stunning walk Paul, the beautiful winter colours..awesome mate. The smooth grace of the kite man, shame you didn't get the high five. Really enjoyed it. Thanks Paul and ATB. Jim.

Jim Holden Thank you Jim for your kind words as always. Yes, it was a day of non stop exhilaration and the kite man was let down by me sadly with regard to the high five....next time lol

rhialobran Oh heck Simon lol...you had better not watch the next one then which is a similar hike with a higher ascent up to the top of Pen-y-fan and taking in some of the other peaks along the way. Thank you as always for watching and for your kind words :)

Gnarly views and really rugged landscape dude. Nice seeing some landscapes that are so different from what we have in Virginia. Although i'm glad we don't have the sheep wandering around the hills like you guys do. I remember having to avoid them with our car when we were in GB a few years ago.

OTT MOUNTAIN Gnarly, rugged....I have been called worse lol. Yes, this area is within an hour of home and is a complete contrast to the lushness of the Wye valley and like you say so different to the landscapes of Virginia. As for the sheep, well they just do what sheep do, eat, poop and stare at you whilst daring you to walk or drive past you lol. Thank you very much for taking the time to watch and comment. Paul :)

I'm impressed, Paul. Amazing views from the summit of Hay Bluff and in January!
I had quite different experience with the group up Pen Cerrig-Calch and Pen Allt-Mawr today. Enjoyable as ever but dry weather and clear views really add to the experience. I'm intending to return to Hay Bluff and do a big loop that also includes 'Twmpa', maybe March/April time.

Olly Outdoors Thank you Olly for your kind words as always. We were blessed with great January weather on Friday. The experience on the hills is so much more exhilarating when accompanied by decent weather and clear skies. Sorry that was not the case for you today but still an adventure and great for the mind, body and soul regardless. Yes you must return to the Bluff and take in Twmpa hopefully with favourable weather :)

If Frankie Howerd saw the title of this film he'd definitely have some fun with it,i on the other hand won't be so predictable... Great hike Paul. When you and Mark film around the Herefordshire area one thing comes across, the feeling of space. The expanse seems massive as it pours over into Wales, big skies and what seems a limitless horizon.Must admit,it will be good to get the colour back in a few weeks time,i went out today for the first time since November and the land is saturated and overly grey, seems more so this year than other winters.Roll-on the spring.Hope all's well.

Rameman Double entendres galore Andy in this one and plenty more were left out lol...I am sure that you can tell through the tone of my voice throughout that I was on the cusp of many an ooh errr missus lol. I can picture and hear Frankie Howard now bless him. How would he have coped in this PC mad world. Yes, the vastness and richness of this area with steep facing escarpments, moorland and lush river valleys is awe inspiring and then when you return to Hereford, a very pleasant but by no means large city by any stretch, the busy hustle and bustle and compactness of houses and businesses compared to this comparative wilderness is both a stark contrast but also reassuring in a way to have this on our doorstep. It must feel similar on the Cornish coast and moors I imagine. Water, water is indeed everywhere. Our two main rivers the Wye and Lugg have been in spate now for a week or so and the flood meadows are doing what they were designed to do by mother nature. Thank you as always for watching and it is great to hear that you have managed to get out and about and hopefully feeling much better than you were. Paul :)

It certainly looks a brilliant place to live that's for sure Paul.I'd be spoilt for choice between mountains and river.Cornwall like every place has it's own vibe,it wraps itself around you and obviously the sea plays a massive part in that. Inaccessibility to convenient places is obviously something you forego when you live here,so it gives you a great feeling of isolation to a degree which i quite like.Frankie indeed would have ran with the title that's for sure, and how times have changed to being now expected to filter your words and thoughts! And to that i say.Nay,nay and thrice nay...

What you and brother Paul have done to document the mighty Wye is a grand thing indeed Mark and i look forward to more adventures.First time i ever saw a mountain is when i went back to trace my grandfathers Welsh roots,i was in awe of them, the one's around Nant Gwynant i remember well and it was an absolute contrast from my own Cornish upbringing.Hope you got on with reading On the black hill.I got Robert Macfarlane's - The old ways the other day as i saw you recommended it,will get into it soon.Hope all's ok up there with you.

Rameman Very true Andy. I haven't spent much time in Cornwall but did visit the St. Agnes area a number of years ago and loved it. Like you say it was very different to here with a vibe of it's own. You would love Herefordshire and the Welsh border country. I understand what you mean about the feeling of isolation as it is something that I am more than comfortable with and have a preference for if I am honest :) Thankfully nature and the wild places that we love do not subscribe to political correctness :)

Black Country Woodsman Thank you Mike and yes, we really did feel on top of the world especially when seeing the paragliders like dots in the sky before starting our ascent and then at one point standing above them. Exhilarating. A great place for a stealth camp Mike :) Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment mate. Did you get my PM?
