When I saw you go in to clean all that conformal coating off I started freaking out about that resistor. Glad you were able to find it. I've been cleaning up that coating in the past and ended up having my air just a bit too high on the airflow, and end up pointing it JUST the right way to blow one of them away. For awhile I used a squeeze bottle to dispense flux and I absolutely hated it, it seemed like a good idea when I first started doing this because at the time I couldn't find any plungers or syringes for the tubes Amtech comes in. That freaking dispenser...I probably have tons of caps and resistors floating around in the last bit of flux in that thing. When I let go it usually pulls some flux back in and takes whatever is loose with it. I once started freaking out because I lost 5 components that I had neatly laid out on the board, I checked ALLOVER my mat and couldn't find them. Squeeze my flux bottle and there they were. You have quickly become one of my favorite repair folks on UA-cam, I actually like you way more than Louis or Jessa, not that they're bad, but many of your videos are easily digestible and I don't have to sit down and watch a multi-hour stream. Keep it up man. Since you're looking for a new station, if you want an awesome one that can do micro pencil and SMD hot tweezers, I highly recommend the FM-202. I managed to get one on eBay for $175. In fact I think the same guy is still selling his remaining stock at $200, just make an offer for $175 and they should accept it. Ever since I switched to that I haven't looked back. It's really similar to the 951, but the only thing it lacks is the auto-sleep for the irons. But it looks like you're pretty diligent in turning your station off when you're not going to be using it for a few minutes so that shouldn't be a problem. Works with all the same handpieces and accessories as the substantially more expensive 203, IMO it's a win-win. Here's the eBay item number of that listing if you're interested, or to anyone else who happens to be reading this wanting to get a killer station for a reasonable price. 332232552203
Thank you for the excellent videos. Your videos have shown consistent technical improvement as you add new bits & pieces and refine your craft. I don't have an iPhone (I have more of an android budget) but I marvel at the miniaturization and your excellent comparison of component size vs. grain of rice, etc. My question is about your "main camera", the B500. With my android budget, I thought it would be a decent camera for general use. Any comments, pro & con would be appreciated. Work on the backlog but make new videos!
great video just like always...you gotta need to make a video on TOUCH ID failure too after 6+ touch repair because i have learned the touch failure fix from your videos and now touch ID failure has happened to me i am out of clue what to do with it ...thank you :)
Hi Jason Leonard from Ireland here I have a quick question, When replacing the Iphone 6s home button with non Apple home button, have Apple resolved the software issue on the iphone 6s that bricks the phone? I could be wrong about this issue, as I am new to phone repair
Thanks for the quick reply, That's great to hear, as I just found the home button flex torn because the screen was cracked and cut thru the cable. love your videos, ur a real tech. Thank you again Regards Leonard
Does that M1 trace go to the nearby resistor? If so would attaching it there mean less chance of jumper floating off during reflow? Just a thought, I'm sure you wouldn't connect to trace if it wasn't as successful. I like the artistic direction you went in at the start :)
Are the parts of the 6 plus and 6s plus compactible? I cant find a touch ic for a 6s plus on ebay and I ordered tge 6-6plus one. I have not received yet.
I have an Iphone 6+,before this i have it repaired for the touch ic, but then after a few weeks it broke again. it can be turned on but there is no display at all, there is a dim light comes out but no display at all, can I send it to you for repair? and how much is the cost, I'm from malaysia. sorry bad english.
Bizarre isn't it? Who would jumper a perfectly good looking pad? I was beating my head against the wall for weeks with returns after fixing 100s successfully with hardly any returns. Someone told me to jumper m1 even when it isn't broken and the returns will stop. At the time, I had 8 iPhone 6 pluses here that no matter how many times you replaced those ICs, would still have classic flickering grey bar touch failure. Jumpering M1 fixed every last one of them. There's a microscopic break between the trace and the pad on many of them that 45x just doesn't see. A multi-meter will detect the break between pad M1 on U2402 and pin 1 on U2403.
+Brad Ganley It has been consistently predictable all day every day. I've never used a higher end station but if this one quit on me today, I'd go buy another one at the nearest Micro Center. I'll probably buy something better one day but for now, this thing really kicks ass.
STS Telecom good to hear. I currently use a quick 861DW but I'm looking at the 852a++ for a setup at home. I'll probably get it because of your glowing recommendation

Hi Jason
Leonard from Ireland here
I have a quick question,

I could be wrong about this issue, as I am new to phone repair
I think you're talking about error 53. It's not an issue anymore on the 6 or 6s's. Touch ID will not work but it will work as a home button.
Thanks for the quick reply,
That's great to hear, as I just found the home button flex torn because the screen was cracked and cut thru the cable.
love your videos, ur a real tech.
Thank you again
Regards
Leonard
Thank you Dear

Thanks. You can run a jumper from M1 to pin 1 on U2403 but the trace is closer :) The nearby resistor is hooked to L1 tho.
LOL @ the start of the vid Jason :D
+John - Orbiter hehe, gotta keep it fun :)
I notice you have inventive new ideas with video-making lately Jason. I'm glad you're in good spirit

lol I've fallen asleep with my eyes on the microscope
just like the intro.
I did not understand why you put the M1 jumper on touch ic board. It did not look like any thing wrong in it ?
Bizarre isn't it? Who would jumper a perfectly good looking pad? I was beating my head against the wall for weeks with returns after fixing 100s successfully with hardly any returns. How do you like the Aoyue 852A++? I'm considering getting one.
