Hello Calvin thanks for this video, you always deliver what we need to hear 🙉. What you said it's all true you don't have to go to the Philippines just to get married or have gf. I know that when I go I want to be a Jack, cause after being married for 15yrs, i need a rest from woman. That's one my goals stay single and travel the Philippines and learn more about the culture. And like you said it's cheaper that way that you dont have to be worried that someone would be asking you for money. Take care my brother
thanks, Calvin for sharing that alternate perspective as well... Its a great option to consider even after we have been in a former relationship.. the key is getting to know your surrounding in the Philippines and knowing someone you can trust to help you set up shop...that's if I/we ever go back...thank for sharing again brother.. I appreciate you and your insight..
As for me I have been married to my wonderful Filipina 26 years. We both look forward to one day retiring to the Philippines. To move over there and to get away from the western standard of living that I'm having to work my life away to maintain would be a dream come true. I'm not rich by western standards but even a average western standard is expensive to maintain. Year around summertime weather. I'll take that even with the skeeters. Though South Carolina isn't one of the colder states it still gets too cold for me. We have been back to the Philippines several times to visit. Always have a great time.
Another great Joe & John video (& now Jack) Been a Joe for much of my life & tasted the good & the bad. I'm a travelling Jack now because seeing the countries, (whichever I find myself in) & culture, is very important to me. The Philippines is huge & with 7,000 plus islands to explore, it would be wrong for me not to experience such. Same goes for other Asian countries & being tied down as a Joe, wouldn't allow it, unless the woman feels the same. I might, just might, meet her on my travels.
When I lived in the Philippines for a year I lived as both. I was in a relationship for most of my time there and then I went single in the last 3 - 4 months there. Being a Joe and a John both have their pros and cons but the sweet spot is to really find a Pinay who can match your spirit in every way. Hook up with the wrong Pinay and your life is not going to be so exciting in the Philippines, be by yourself all the time and you will get lonely at times, you will pay a lot for "action" (over time it adds up) and your reputation as a sexpat will get out among the locals (this is why certain Vloggers in the Philippines move from town to town.) Being a John you do get to be more spontaneous and therefore you get to see more places and meet more people...however if you get sick or have an emergency (and you will get sick in the Philippines) you are on your own.
@@paulsmith2279 Before I moved to the Philippines I hadn't had the flu for 8 years. When I lived there for a year I caught the flu two times. And it wasn't just me, the locals would often catch the flu or get sick often too, the ages didn't matter. As for the Joe vs. John debate, to me I don't see being a John as being smarter I just see it as an immature phase. One should also notice that those expats that get into trouble in the Philippines are almost always Johns. Johns are almost always involved in shady dealings in the Philippines and shady dealings are what you wanna stay away from there. A John is either paying for sex in the Philippines (which is illegal and therefore can get you blackmailed) or he is deceiving women for sex (and this can get you killed.)
Thanks so much Calvin for sharing your great video and this info is for sure very important for all expats. Have a wonderful day and stay healthy my dear and always remember to have fun, you're in the Philippines after all. Best regards/Ned 🌷🙌🌷
If there were no ETS (STD) that would be an option but is not bc of all these ETS flying around, the price to pay is much higher if you catch a bad disease. Saying "you know exactly what you pay for" is not true, sometimes there will be a hidden gift in form of ets
Calvin ... Thank you for your great topics..In my life I can say that i have been a John..then..a Joe..and a Jack back in 2003.. The John has more money.. but lives in fear of s.t.d. no matter what you wear. Joe is taking care of the family and stressed out over money and the nagging wife .The Jack usually has been a Jack and a John and now he is seeking inner peace...... Stay safe and I love your channel..
Always best to be a jack and just be yourself and enjoy this very temporal life... I always remember this one scripture which states life is but a vapor here for a little while and then vanish it away”... here in the USA very hard to be a joe as dating is for all practical purposes non existent with these women here and their western altitudes and being a John is a high risk so what I can see only way is to be yourself and let life occur!... thank you sir for your excellent thought provoking videos and keep up the good work!
Another great and true video. In my many travels to the Philippines i met a guy from Jacksonville fl. that filled me in on what he does. He saves his money for about a year then he heads over with deep pockets and goes straight to his favorite bar and when the girls see him they fight each other to get to him first because they already know he got money!💰💰💰💰
I appreciate these “real talks” about going to the Philippines. I’ve heard nothing but great things going to that country as being an American. I don’t know if I am looking for love in particular, but I’d definitely want an inexpensive country to visit and explore without getting my head chopped off. I do like filipina’s but not really looking for prostitution or marriage.

omg u just described me, I am a John i even went to the pancake house in Cebu Robinson mall thou :) The thing is for me western women destroyed relationships for me, i am just to scared coz of divorces. Filipinas are great, but when u live the single life for long u kinda like it. I am a MGTOW, i might get married one day in my 50 or 60s, but i never happens it all good. I am also a world traveler, lol been to over 50 countries and Philippines 10X in the last 11 years
Hi Calvin, Great video intelligent insight. I have been single for over ten years and I do not intend on changing that when I live in the Phillippines. I could not live full time with anyone. I need my space and enjoy my own company. If I need some company then I know where to go. I am 58 and my sex drive has reduced. In the past, I was very promiscuous and had an untold amount of lovers so I have been there and got the T, shirt. I want a quiet peaceful retirement can't be doing with drama and having a partner brings drama. No Thank you. So I think I am a Jack no hard and fast rules about anything because love can bite you on the butt anytime and I know within 24 hours when love comes knocking. Take care Bruver. GOD Bless you and yours. M
I'm definitely a Lone Ranger type. I won't say "John" because of the negative connotations associated with that word. I have know guys (like my four brothers) who cannot last more than a month without being attached to a woman. It might have been Clint Eastwood who said in one movie when a woman tried to hook him: "No thanks, mam. I don't need anyone telling me when to shave, bathe, what to eat ...when to eat, and so on."
In my day, the name Filipinas gave “John’s,” was “butterflies.” So a John is a butterfly to a Filipina. I guess because they just go from flower to flower, lol.
Their viciousness was something new that I haven't experienced before. The drama and the threat of suicide BS is also out of the telseria TV drama they watch from childhood.
@@johnwales4214 a former friend of mine did make promises to convince multiple women to sleep with him. He then used to show off about his score. Very cruel and selfish. Unfortunately, there are probably lots of men doing this.
@@amvora777 That isn't a "John", that is a "Player". John only wants to get women and pay them. So no reason to lie to women to convince them. In fact, they will usually avoid any offer of "free" sex.
@@jimbakker950 That depends. I used to mess around with a girl that had a boyfriend that was out of the country. She didn't need, nor want my money. Sometimes women want no-attachment "fun" also.
You had a survey that asked why would a person want to move to the P.I.. I answered FREEDOM. When I was last living there, I had the women calling me Johnny Adobo. Truth. I think when I come back I may use John Dough now that it has more meaning. 😆
Another great video Calvin. I appreciate your take on this topic. I see myself as a freelancer vs a John. Meaning I will move to the Philippines 🇵🇭 or Thailand 🇹🇭 alone and when I want female companionship then I know where to find it. I don’t want to do the whole low budget living situation but I do want to be free to come and go as I please. I also don’t want to live with a woman that needs to be with me most of the time. This way I can travel around Southeast Asia as much as I like. See the sites, shop, etc. i don’t want to support her family with regular payments, etc. in the end the cost is about the same. It’s just that we prefer not to have the commitment. Also I’m young 50’s and work out 6 days a week. I enjoy sex a couple of times a week. As you said I’m more of the jack. I let the situation play out. If the right woman comes along then I will commit. Otherwise I will continue to do my thing. There are so many women in the Philippines or Thailand that are cool with that. In other words don’t buy the farm just to get some milk. Oh and it’s called a tank top 😂😊😃
lol. you just descibed me to a tee... i know excatly what i want.. i dont lie to the girls , keep short ,fun, and sweet..we wont be holding hands and kissing at rthe mall.. my mating call is "TEQUILA???".. ..I treat everyone with respect .. pasawai....lol aloha from the 808..
You are right on the options, i went to Cebu and Bohol 2 summers ago, spent entire time with this one girl i met online , next trip, i know there 're more options..
There is one guy that you don't know about.its the guy who comes over there pushing a walker or a wheelchair.i am one of the guys.for ten years I faced left alone.sat down with doctors telling me who my body failed me.and each time I picked myself up brushed myself off and got back in the race .now it happens to be the last act for me.so I am gatefull for someone to be by my side.it fells good to know that there won't be many men who would be my friend but there is always a woman .pay for play!!
I rather hire a nurse or nurse practitioner or nurse attendant etc. they understand that if I die the money stops. The better I cared for the healthier I am the longer I live.
You make a lot of sense Calvin . I enjoy hearing your perspective on things there.take care. i have been chatting with a lady for almost a year and she is pretty and smart and seems to really want to commit to me but, i am still warry. shes ofc so i know she most likely is not dating alot. could be on sites but she messages me regularly. ok yea thats where i am at now. bye
Great video. I'll be a Jack and not be in contact with anyone until I'm actually able to be in the Philippines. Otherwise the risk is not worth the reward.
How common are brownouts in San Carlos? One problem I have with the Philippines versus Thailand/Malaysian/Vietnam is the infrastructure. Because a lot of us want to come and semi-retire at a young age. That means working online maybe 20 hours a week. But to do that, fast internet & consistent electricity are mandatory. A 10 minute brownout is no big deal but my friends in Dumaguete sometimes have brownouts lasting 8-10 hours. Also, what are your internet speeds? Can you run a speed test on your home internet and share the results?
Brownouts are common but only happen about once a month. There is a gigantic solar farm here but it serves only the electric company and not the people!
Meeting the family is the big one.they think they won the lottery. So Many players in the relationship. The Filipina has to be worth all that drama. If she is I would be a joe.
"Booths on the ground" you must be Army Ret. I like your down to earth talk. You said "Joes" on couple of occasions where I am sure you meant "Johns". I been in the country for a few years now. I am more like the in between type, "Jacks" hehe
At 66 years old, my goals would be different than a younger man. I don't want new children. I don't know that I even want a long term relationship. I don't want a young woman. I would be interested in casually dating someone within 10 years of my age. I would take them to places they could not afford to go. It could be said that I am looking for tour guides. OK, but they would benefit from the tour themselves. It would be more like a vacation for both of us. Sex with them would be optional. I never talk someone into doing something they don't want to do. Like you say, other sources are available. A few months with me and they may be happy to see me leave. Lol. Nothing is set in stone. If I met someone I wanted to stay with, I would qualify for a retirement visa there if they bring them back. I learned to never say , I will never. It seems reality thinks it funny to make me a liar.
Go to my Sunshins Shoulders Facebook page I posted one yesterday. I am hoping to make a vlog in the morning on location if the rain cooperates. Thanks!
I have seen enough expats in Panglao that I can tell a John from a Joe just by looking at them and the things they do at the bar. I got asked by the same John twice to live with him and be his wife/caregiver cos nobody takes him seriously now that he is old and weak. When the high of living as a John is gone, at the end of the day, you would still want to settle and be with a Maria who will treat you right. I hope and pray that you dont miss your Maria when she comes along while you are busy being a John.
As always, I am still an "Anomaly".... I had Pinays groveling to make me happy., never mind, there was always reciprocity...where my face resembled a glazed doughnut....Now I get it...

I am curious, what would it cost now in 2021? As in the same lifestyle. As in my dream. As in when I die and end up in a place like that, that others call Heaven.
Same here Salvador
@@tman5634 That's the best way
thanks, Calvin for sharing that alternate perspective as well... Its a great option to consider even after we have been in a former relationship.. the key is getting to know your surrounding in the Philippines and knowing someone you can trust to help you set up shop...that's if I/we ever go back...thank for sharing again brother.. I appreciate you and your insight..
Great talk.Thank You for sharing. Blessings to you and your family.
Another great Joe & John video (& now Jack)
Been a Joe for much of my life & tasted the good & the bad.
I appreciate your honesty and insights.
Wow, you channel is the one of the best from Philippines!!
Thx 4 it!!!
Thanks!
Thanks so much Calvin for sharing your great video and this info is for sure very important for all expats. Have a wonderful day and stay healthy my dear and always remember to have fun, you're in the Philippines after all. Best regards/Ned 🌷🙌🌷
Some of my older friends were Johns. In the end they ended up alone, unwanted, unloved, not cared for.
If you are in the Philippines with over 1 million USD. Trust me, you will always be wanted, loved, and cared for.
If there were no ETS (STD) that would be an option but is not bc of all these ETS flying around, the price to pay is much higher if you catch a bad disease.
Saying "you know exactly what you pay for" is not true, sometimes there will be a hidden gift in form of ets

Unvarnished truth!! Keep it up sir!
"He [John] doesn't have to meet the parents. He doesn't have to buy souvenirs." Solid gold!
😃😃😃
King shoulders. I love this content. He is appears to be honest, normal, average and he is living like a king. This brings hope to a no body like me. Thanks king shoulders.
Thanks man. What a great video. It really helps me. Your videos are really awesome
"When we help other people, we help ourselves."
I loved listen to this one. It has been funny and learning!
Great stuff Kalvin ...stay safe my friend .
Good video, alot to think about.
Great perspective video on John, Joe and Jack, ways of being in the world for men. Looking forward to Part 2 on Tom, Dick and Harry.
😄😄😄
lmao
Man you’ve sold me on the John lifestyle. Pay to play or pay everyday.
I don't think he sold anything, he just doesn't judge. You do what makes you happy.
Thank u. I didn’t know I needed your approval. Lol I’m just kidding. I have that British dry humor. He makes some good points. The only reason I would see going full joe would be to buy land . But buying a condo and stay free as a bird seems like the better deal.
@@christophwolfgang I am planning to spend a year or so in a few selected countries, and hopefully find a local girlfriend to spend time with. I will start with Brazil, then Colombia, and Thailand. I am also considering Philippines, but Philippines, so far, appears to be boring.

An open-minded talk, very illustrative and clear.
Thanks.
I have an incursion in your vlog and was a little bit predispose at the beginning, but after a few views, I have come to realize that I was wrong.
Thumbs 👍 love ❤️ and hope 🙏.
Thanks again for your work.
Great video sunshine,
Dropping some knowledge !!!!!
omg u just described me, I am a John i even went to the pancake house in Cebu Robinson mall thou :)
The thing is for me western women destroyed relationships for me, i am just to scared coz of divorces. Filipinas are great, but when u live the single life for long u kinda like it. I am a MGTOW, i might get married one day in my 50 or 60s, but i never happens it all good. I am also a world traveler, lol been to over 50 countries and Philippines 10X in the last 11 years
best video of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks brother!
Good analyses
I'm definitely a Lone Ranger type. I won't say "John" because of the negative connotations associated with that word. I have know guys (like my four brothers) who cannot last more than a month without being attached to a woman. It might have been Clint Eastwood who said in one movie when a woman tried to hook him: "No thanks, mam. I don't need anyone telling me when to shave, bathe, what to eat ...when to eat, and so on."
I guess I'm a Joe. Keep them coming.
Great video bro !!!
In my day, the name Filipinas gave “John’s,” was “butterflies.” So a John is a butterfly to a Filipina. I guess because they just go from flower to flower, lol.
😀
I enjoy watching your channel Calvin. you're just like me, keeping it real 💯
Also by not joining those sights you have a better chance of not being scammed.
Absolutely and you save money!!!
Damn, this is what Bodie would have looked like had he made it to 57.....
All philipina are sweet till they not. There's something different about how mean they can be too
That's ALL women...🤔
Over 10 years the chill 😬can freeze 🥜’s
Their viciousness was something new that I haven't experienced before. The drama and the threat of suicide BS is also out of the telseria TV drama they watch from childhood.
you are wise and your explanations are clear, accessible and without social prejudices. i'd like to meet you someday and share a few laughs.
Good honest video
As long as John does not go around impregnating the women or giving them a disease, more power to him. Have fun, but do it responsibly.
@@sgtm7 “free” is often not worth the cost.
Don't have pros just kiridas or "friends with benefit".
@@jimbakker950 That depends. I used to mess around with a girl that had a boyfriend that was out of the country. She didn't need, nor want my money. Sometimes women want no-attachment "fun" also.
Cool vlog Calvin. Being a Jack sounds good.
You had a survey that asked why would a person want to move to the P.I.. I answered FREEDOM. When I was last living there, I had the women calling me Johnny Adobo. Truth. I think when I come back I may use John Dough now that it has more meaning. 😆
😄😄😄
Correct. Some guys are just lone wolf’s and tying them down will not work. Both situations have their plus and minus.
That's what I like you always tell it like it is with no chaser
Joe's who can't, "teach" and Johns that can, "do" and Jacks do both and get shot. Love it.
yes ...I had a co worker long ago that met her fate on the side walk..at work (in NYC metro area)
yes ...I also had another co worker at another job after that, whereby she walked in on him ...lol..she told me about it...(in Bx, NY)

Indeed! The same as yourself x 10 Ha........ Lol!
You are right on the options, i went to Cebu and Bohol 2 summers ago, spent entire time with this one girl i met online , next trip, i know there 're more options..
i learned long ago that being alone does not mean being lonely, a social life without a steady woman is what you make of it
There is one guy that you don't know about.its the guy who comes over there pushing a walker or a wheelchair.i am one of the guys.for ten years I faced left alone.sat down with doctors telling me who my body failed me.and each time I picked myself up brushed myself off and got back in the race .now it happens to be the last act for me.so I am gatefull for someone to be by my side.it fells good to know that there won't be many men who would be my friend but there is always a woman .pay for play!!
I rather hire a nurse or nurse practitioner or nurse attendant etc. they understand that if I die the money stops. The better I cared for the healthier I am the longer I live.
Good video.
Thank you Calvin for reinforcing that I’m a Joe and not a John, and of course I have nothing against Johns.
You make a lot of sense Calvin . I enjoy hearing your perspective on things there.take care. i have been chatting with a lady for almost a year and she is pretty and smart and seems to really want to commit to me but, i am still warry. shes ofc so i know she most likely is not dating alot. could be on sites but she messages me regularly. ok yea thats where i am at now. bye
You said it all brother Calvin 😅😅

Be careful they might chop your john..😂
Hey there, hope you and your lady had a nice Valentines.
Thanks and same to you!
Great video. I'll be a Jack and not be in contact with anyone until I'm actually able to be in the Philippines. Otherwise the risk is not worth the reward.
I'm more like a John I love to travel and see sites and new things women scare me to commit.
Great video!!! But just take my lunchmoney🏋️💰 #fitness
You visit as John become Jack and hope to be Joe in the end.
This video is a good example of no sugar coating. Speaking of sugar, is "sugar daddy/sugar baby" a thing in the Philippines?
I’m pretty sure that’s a thing everywhere!
"Booths on the ground" you must be Army Ret. I like your down to earth talk. You said "Joes" on couple of occasions where I am sure you meant "Johns". I been in the country for a few years now. I am more like the in between type, "Jacks" hehe
You caught that huh 😀😀😀
I love the tricking.
Hey cal another good video, im curious to when you're going to do an update on baby Denise house
Go to my Sunshins Shoulders Facebook page I posted one yesterday. I am hoping to make a vlog in the morning on location if the rain cooperates. Thanks!
Great advice - be a ‘jack’ for as long as possible until you have no doubt which side you want to live!
Well said.👍
As always, I am still an "Anomaly".... I had Pinays groveling to make me happy., never mind, there was always reciprocity...where my face resembled a glazed doughnut....Now I get it...
