- Here’s a stat most Californians have likely never heard: for every five gas stations in California, there’s now one electric vehicle fast charging station.
Governor Gavin Newsom dropped by a Tesla supercharger during Earth Week to highlight the state’s ongoing efforts to build a bigger and better charging network, as well as Tesla’s recent work to open its fast chargers to non-Tesla vehicles.

The California budget has DOUBLED since he took office. We had a $100 billion dollar surplus two years ago. Now we're in the hole to the tune of $73 billion dollars. This is high priority issue. Rather than sit down with the legislature to hammer out compromises or solutions to the problem he's working to ensure people in Arizona can get abortions, a $1 commemorative coin for California, and hosting a climate summit at the Vatican. Nothing will be done and taxes will have to be raised to cover the shortfall. Easily the most selfish person to ever occupy the governors mansion.
His aunt is nancy pelosi. He's just doing what he's told.
As long as he gets his kickbacks from the EV companies, he'll keep pushing these throwaway appliances.

but what about the ones who don't live in the city? the ones who can't even afford such a car like a Tesla? a lot of the fast chargers hardly ever work. plus where do you get the energy to have these ready to charge????

Finally ! I bought my 2017 VW egolf in 2018 and there were no chargers ! Had to install one in the garage . Thank goodness for the $7500 fed/$2500 state of CA rebate . Orig cost $32k , net cost $22k plus tax,title, license . Schwarzenegger hit me with a $100 a year penalty at registration which sucks . Now my fees are $255/yr on a 7 yr old car JFC! My car only goes 125 miles on a full charge . If I use the freeway , that goes down to 95 miles unless I travel under 60 mph which will get you unalived on most CA freeways . Do more Governor !

While I agree with almost everything you said, the 100k statement is just wrong. In fact, teslas last longer, and require far less maintenance then the average American driven car. And they're actually just as affordable as your nicer end Sedans / SUV's. Around 22-28k for a 2 year old used car which is right in line with most. The days of teslas being unaffordable is kinda over.
@@irezz__2944 I hear you. I agree the build quality of Teslas is good; comparable with any manufacturer. However, the battery replacement is what I was getting at. In a model 3, it will run you $14,000 +. The value of a model 3 with 100k miles? $13-$16k.
In comparison, a replacement engine for a Toyota Camry 4cyl = $4000 + about $2000 installation; and that Toyota 4 banger will last >>>> 100k miles.
I fail to see how this makes any economic sense for California’s working poor?
@@mattgibson351 I absolutely hear you and that was one of my main concerns before my purchase. Seeing the price of a replacement battery is very off putting.. Keep in mind though, tesla does do a 8 year / 120K / -30% degredation/ battery replacement which is a lot better than most companies offer. The average american only holds onto their car for around 150k IF it even makes it that far, so again, its right on par with others. In no way am i arguing you, because i literally thought the exact same way.
As far as Cali goes, i absolutely agree with you. It doesnt seem like the best solution but youre also talking about a ridiculous state and governor so not much is going to make sense there, lol.
