Man, I remember when this channel barely had 30-40k subs. It's so great to see how well all of the animals continue to do, how the Kamp grows and evolves, how the channel grows, and even how Kenan grows himself and with his family. I can't think of a more wholesome YT channel, and the like/dislike ratio always reflects it. Keep up the good work Kenan.

+1 Love the video. The reason I have a few heads of iceburg in the fridge right now! It's dropping into the 30's this week in Texas, my 4 Sulcatas are safe and warm in their greenhouses (and dog houses inside the greenhouses), but I don't provide them water when it drops this cold. Any water bowl/dish on the ground gets too cold. Even with my smallest "babies" being about 20lbs, I just don't trust the idea of them ingesting water that could be as low as 50F in Winter. Instead I provide Mazuri pellets(nutrition), that have been softened with water, and a bit of lettuce each day to make sure their water consumption is stable! Has worked great for years! They're quite happy, only lasts a couple weeks a year they are locked up, and then back to the 1acre paddock!

I often have to do the same with my Carl, since he has similar issues to your Lumpy. I actually had my vet tell me that feeding him iceberg lettuce along with the rest of his diet was a necessity, because he doesn't have the ability to walk to a water bowl as much as the average tortoise can because of his arthritis. So he has to absorb water from the lettuce in order to stay hydrated. XP

They had at one time, either gave it away or sold it very cheap for an entire produce box full, but they stopped doing that because too many people were wanting the clippings, so instead of people fighting over it, they just stopped giving it away and/or selling it.

I had two male sulcatas that grew up together since they were about 8/9" long. They have been in the same pen for 14 yrs then they began to fight each other. Long story short i was left to separate my back yard where they lived into 2 sep sections. 2 cinder blocks high with metal bars cause they would push the blocks around and come into contact and would fight. Well it became too much to deal with so i landed up donating the slightly smaller one (98 lb) to a friends farm/animal exhibit in homestead since he has a small group of them and he welcomed a new member. The one i have is just over 110 lbs and has the run of the land and is doing fine on his owm from what i am able to see. This one is my first that I've had since 1996. The one i donated i got in 2006.

Well once you get close enough and do the anthro.... Whatever they do get lonely and the way they show it is by observing deeply not the way we expect a lonely creature to behave. Also, would love being in human touch and coze in the blanket. I've trained mine to mimic me, it literally opens its mouth and even mimics biting act when tried feeding medicine, also, mine observes deeply and peeps at an angle when it's ready to defecate. Also, when fed there is a lot of excitement and funny movements like you see in a cat or dog a bit. Don't ask me, im just too good a trainer. Lol

Coil bulbs dont produce uvb past 4 inches, and above that its not enough to even benefit them. The only bulbs that accurately and properly provide uvb are zoomed or Acadia t5 and t8 linear bulbs. The % needed is different per species.
I see So many animals with MBD in reptile groups because of stupid coil and dome uvb bulbs being recommended by those that just read "uvb" on the package and assume its good enough. A lot of them die when the owner never learns to switch to proper UVB.
Now, I don't know much about turtles, so maybe they need next to nothing in UVB to begin with.. But I'm assuming they still need something higher than what a coil or dome provides if they thrive outside in the sun.

The Arcadia 14% uvb tubes are the strongest on the market you can get them at lightyourreptiles.com for a reasonable price. You will need to combined this bulb with a high output fixture with a reflector to get good results. As far as distance from the lamp its hard to tell, a bearded dragon usually needs to be about 15 - 20 inches away to get the right dose. You will need to look up the ferguson zone for that Tort species but i imagine it would be close to a bearded dragon or higher. You can check what Ferguson zone your light is putting out with a Solarmetar 6.5 (expensive but the only real way to know) The mercury vapor bulbs are ok in conjunction with the long tube lights but usually not strong enough by its self for dessert animals. sorry for the long comment getting your indore lighting right is very important.
