This Game is a Work of Art ~ Terminator: Dark Fate Defiance ~ Skirmish Mode

- TERMINATOR: Dark Fate Defiance is a really polished gaming experience. It's gameplay is a little too fast-paced for me so multiplayer doesn't interest me - but the single player skirmish and campaign is a great time.

I got to admit, hearing the the Name 'Legion' instead of Skynet just never sounds right to me.
Ah well, a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.
@@cadderley100 Yes, but there are no iconic Skynet Units here at all. No T-800s no HKs or giant tanks.
@@Historyfan476AD
watch before come into conclusion.
the end he deployed the hk, and T800 are in minigunners or rifles.
your lack of interest cause of the name dark fate explains it all, i dont blame you.
Though the battle system definitely not for Kids.
Even if you are truly Sun Tzu or John Connor you are against AI.
Real motherf*cking anticipating your next move AI.
So it's not for leisure walk into park entertainment RTS.
Realistic rts are not C&C of 20yrs ago.
@@BruceWayne-uj8cc Those ain't HKs or T-800s, they're Revs.
@@Historyfan476AD
Totally true.
This is therefore called legion not skynet.
Dark fate not salvation or judgement day.
We can go on all day.
So not only it is not Skynet but no T-800 terminators...
That would be copyright.
@@Mr.Steepz This game depicts the beginning of the war, I think. That is why you do not have the later models of the terminators.
I have played the game and it is strangely addictive. As long as they add more maps and introduce new patches to correct some bugs, I think it will be amazing.
They are purposefully not using any copyright threatening names to avoid lawsuits since the company developing this had some problems with the direction of the game in accordance with the "modern ideology" wishes of a particular partner American company and took it further to different partners and released it in a nearly polished form.
I guess this is why I see some inconsistencies with the game, like decent voice lines, pretty great graphics for a movie game and a more than decent enemy AI if you play on Hard and above. But at the same time, you see some things like missing cutscenes and realize that someone put pretty heavy work into this but probably did not have funds left to polish it anymore.
@@Aryan-nv9kdthey also had problems publishing it due to having lots of Russians on developing team (famous for their "Warfare" and "Syrian Warfare" games.. which are pretty good too), due to recent events and stuff (to properly being acknowledged they would be forced to publicly denounce the acts of their home country... which could lead to their prison sentence there), so any mention of them is erased, stil, the names are in the credits, though.
Aww sweet. Reminds me of Assault Squad 2 or the more recent Gates of Hell: Ostfront. I'll definitely get the game, Slitherine are absolutely nailing it with their releases.
The only thing that reminds me is that it has just as boring content as Gates of Hell. No Skirmish or anything just fake pvp against bots which is utterly trash. *yawn*
@@PuellaMagiHomuraAkemi Ok.
its syrian warfare but against wireheads
They seem to have made good progress since the early showcases! Actually got some interest in this back after the vid. Thanks for covering it Das.
Seems really cool! I put a look on it. Thx for sharing! 👍
Reminds me of Eugene systems games (Warno, Steel Divsions 2, etc.) which is pretty cool!
I was about to say the same... I would love to see Das playing some Steel Division...
@@loshermetos to be honest, steel division 1 and 2 arent that great, wargame red dragon is still the best offering from eugen, but SD2 has some reallyy nice QOL improvements
@@ajikeshi8718 I agree... WARNO is just a promisse until now...
I am genuinely interested in playing this. Reminds me of Halo Wars for some reason? It's not often where you get any type of RTS game, where you play the role of the bad guy. That's a genuine concept, and quite clever. A break from the norm.
I can understand having a timer go down to show when a wave of enemies is incoming or something like that but not fond of a death/lose timer.
You are kinda terrible at it but it was fun to watch. I find I too can no longer keep up with these kinda of games even though I enjoy them. What has helped me though is to simply reduce the difficulty below what I would normally play other games. Sometimes that makes it too easy as there's often not enough gradation between too easy and too hard but if i am just looking for some casual enjoyment, then there's nothing wrong with it being a little easy.
Excited to play it finally
How do you restock ammo for that tank at 47:14?
World in conflict + no hope mod is the best game. Terminator have no super weapons. Missle baricade nuke etc. But in Word in conflict have more option. Defend or attack different map
If you have played Warfare, Warfare Reload or Syrian Warfare then you would have grasped the control easily.
Das you joined the dark side :P
Is there an option where you can reduce/speed up the speed of the game?
I got the game and there is not an option to control the speed of the game but it's okay
If you have to pause an RTS game, it's a bad sign. Also means multiplayer will be tricky to say the least. On the other hand, the setting and the details of the game are terrific. I'll consider it.
I think it's partially just down to Das preferring slower games. He mentions it himself. Judging from the video, it actually seemed relatively easy to follow along for long-time RTS fans. They put a fair amount of effort into cleaning up the UI from what I'm seeing compared to what they showed off before.
more options is never a bad sign. Though, the game was particularly hard before the recent patch.
Where is the music?
Hmm, not sure this is for me. Would be cool if it had a battle reply function so I could reply in slower motion and enjoy all the special effects, environments, etc.
If you could control one of the units in 3rd or first person while also managing the other units would have improved the experience greately.
The game looks good but watching this man play it is frustrating as hell
Why is it the Dark Fate license when James Cameron has the rights back to the whole franchise?
It should be t1/t2 era skynet, I would have been fine with legion as an expansion not the base game.
Movement has the killdozer help this game is a 10/10
killdozer?
naaaaah thats rookie numbers
make killdozer tow ridiculously armored truck trailer with autocannon and exrta recoilles cannon
Looks great! Rts is not my style, so I will pass on this one.
what is odd is that millions of gamers have been looking for new rts games with base-building and nobody is developing them lol
There are at least 2 in the making.
Tempest Rising, 9 bit armies, cataclismo are three I can think of right now
Finally a RTS game tired of turn base game lately good to see this isn't turn base .
Terminator puts out good games. I absolutely love resistance
Hmm no
for all of you complaining about Legion instead of Skynet... it is about the cost of the IP/ Legion being better suited for that kind of warfare.
Whats better: Legion or no game at all? or just some random scifi setting?
Ain't it the same IP though, same Franchise. No it's Legion due to the recent Movie which replaced John Conner and Techcom and replaced Skynet.
What they should have done, to broaden their reach in player base is, they should have added a turn-based option for others that like the idea of the game.
I would have preferred turn based as well but the game is really designed as a multiplayer game - so it wouldn't happen. TBH I'm happy the single player has active pause.
Turn based would kill the immersion of the game. The goals of the mechanics for this game is to emphasise the tactics and strategies used in the heat of combat.
Turnbased would not fit this game at all..
that wouldnt work, you would have to design new game around it
RTS? 90% chance of a hard pass.
Boohoo.
@@TheMasterChief101234 That sounds painful, you should go get that looked at.
Log out of the fortnite for a day or two kid
Ya unfortunately it requires thinking, something knuckle dragging mouth breathers can’t do.
How is this RTS I don't understand when there's no base building, no resources collecting, and a pause button. Meh. For a nano second I got excited there. Thanks for the video so I can remove the game from my wishlist.
So do you only consider base building strategy games as RTS games? Do you even know the meaning of RTS? Did you ever play Company of heroes, Men of War, Syrian Warfare? All of these games are RTS games. You should know more about RTS genre and FYI In Syrian Warfare you need to hit space button to pause the game and this game is from the same devs so this will definitely have a pause button. Now don't say you want a pause button in multiplayer mode.
@@debanjanroy5428 I played all of those and they're all garbage. RTS games are REAL TIME, as the name implies, not "pause whenever you feel like you need to make a decision". See: red alert, command and conquer, tiberium wars, starcraft, etc.
While basebuilding's historically a part of a good number of them, there's also RTS games without it. I can name a few older ones, at the very least, but others have mentioned more modern examples like MOWAS2 or the various wargames.
Perfectly understandable to have preferences, but it's unfair to say its "not RTS."
@@invisuu6280 I mean world in conflict is an amazing RTS similar to this one and obviously you can't pause in multiplayer even though you can pause in all those games mentioned in single player and I mean stuff like warno and what not there is a reason base building RTS are mostly dead they get old fast only one I even still bother with is supreme commander. you just mean you only like base building more classic RTS and thats alright though I mean company of heros did have some base building as well
@@nikolaanicic3944 exactly many old RTS older even than C&C never had base building or resource collection this guy is just being picky. I have some issues with this game and think it needs more balance and its a bit of a quicker pace but without enough feedback which is why pausing is handy. funny though pretty much all the games he listed are make big blob of units and send them straight in lol very little nuance starcraft has some but its basically you get lucky and counter your opponent early or you die
What a shame, more boring trash with fake pvp as "skirmish mode" - if you wanna look at real skirmish modes Men of War Assault Squads had them instead of this cheap bot stuff.
