And as far as noise cancellation goes, I actually don’t like blocking EVERYTHING out, so if these just bring some noises down I’ll be happy.
I haven't see anyone mention this... but is the new camera button going to be a problem for third party cases? They specifically mentioned that their cases were going to have glass passthrough now. I guess other manufacturers could do that too but it seems like a complication that many might not be set up for.
There are large cutouts for the camera button in third-party cases. Mous, for one, pretty much cut a huge notch in the sides of their cases for the button. Surprised me.
Great as always. One minor correction: Camera Control IS a button - it actually is a real proper button, not just a piece of glass with haptic feedback. It can ALSO do a haptic-only interaction - a half press - or give haptic feedback when swiping.
Your last few thoughts and opinions on the whole premise of iPhone 16 Pro and Apple Intelligence was well thought out and articulated. Your writers/yourself did well. Great video, thank you.
Guy from Germany here. I wanna add we don't get AI either this or next year in the EU. The upgrades are even less relevant with the 16 with that for us. I am switching to a 16 Pro but my 12 is 4 years old and at 75% battery. Honestly the switch to Android is becoming more attractive every generation..^^'
I'm more of a Casio F-91W kind of guy, but I do hearing about LG's efforts to make OLED more daylight-readable and energy-efficient. If the iPad Mini ever gets refreshed with their tandem-OLED & micro lens array tech, that would be pretty tempting.
I have got an iPhone 11 Pro here that I only bought two years ago. Probably gonna upgrade to an iPhone 14. If you are willing to stay two generations behind, you’re always going to pay about half price. 🎉
7:06 - just a small correction, the AirPods 3rd Gen already had the force-sensor, this is nothing new for them - they're just still lacking the touch sensitivity for volume control only AirPods 1 & 2 were tap-based gestures
I have really bad hearing from many years of rock concerts and competition car stereos. When I heard the Airpod pro 2s were doubling as hearing aids I immediately bought a pair. It's been nothing short of life changing. I wear them constantly. Very much looking forward to seeing how Apple can improve this area of their functionality.
Hi Quinn, where do you get the info that the main camera on the iPhone 16 is the one from last year's iPhone 15 Pro from? By all acounts (inc. Apple), it's the same sensor size (and aperture) from last year's 15, smaller and therefore with smaller pixels. It's a 26mm f/1.6 equiv. 1/1.56" sensor with 1.0µm pixels, just like last year. The Pro's main camera since the 14 has always been a 24 mm f/1.8 equiv. 1/1.28" sensor with 1.22µm pixels, noticeably bigger (hence the bigger camera bumps on the Pros). They call both of them "Fusion Sensors" this year because of improved sensor readout speeds it seems, I don't know if they're actually revised sensors but my best guess is that that's just marketing for new faster DSPs in the A18, and maybe higher bandwidth (total guess on my part). Maybe they are new sensors of the same size (across either line), or exactly the same sensors, which wouldn't surprise me, you just don't get meaningfully improved new sensors every year. I don't know for sure, and we never get sensor info from Apple. Also, the "Camera Control" is actually a real button, as said by people who tried it, e.g. Nilay Patel of The Verge, even if it probably has a pretty shallow click augmented by haptic feedback. I think that fact is just another nail in the coffin of the "the-iPhone-is-going-port-and-button-less"-rumor-crowd, I never though that made any sense. The power and other requirements for a phone are just so much higher than for a watch, for example, a port is just much more efficient, and a button is just better when it is actually a button.
That little camera pop-out area on screen when the “button” is light pressed should have been dubbed: “Dynamic Peninsula” 😂
It’s a temporary notch 😂
no no no that is Trademarked by passion fruit😂

I had terrible Sleep Apnea and a CPAP has literally changed my life. I’m 28. If you feel like you need one, get it, it’s the one thing I wish I had done sooner.
As a base 13 owner, I'm happy with the 16. I do a lit of gaming on my phone nowadays so the GPU specs excite me! Very cool future for mobile devs.
Wanted to upgrade my iPhone 14 Pro but no Apple AI in Europe and the pro lineup being so light I am not sure.
Good thoughts as always, thank you! Rocking the base iPhone 12, and was tempted with the pro models with both the 14 and 15 releases. Seeing the base iPhone 16 models, that's an absolute amazing upgrade from the base iphone 12. And I didn't see ANY valid reason to spend the $300+ more for the pro models. That base model gets me excited!
Honest and the most informative review
Thinner and lighter is the opposite of what I want from an apple watch, I think my Ultra is a little too small and light compared to my Tag.
The 16 Pro looks like a really good upgrade for my 12 Pro, I think a lot of the tech youtubers forget that most people aren't upgrading every year.
Does the improved viewing angles also mean less glare?
You know what needs to make a comeback ? The ceramic Apple Watch Edition. Friggin love the polished white finish
How exactly is the ANC on those older Airpods Max not good anymore? Was it good to begin with? What happened then?
CPAP changed my life. Don't delay, you get used to it and it improves so much!
LOL 😆 you are so informative and funny at the same time; especially trying to resist buying and swapping out your wearables 😅, I am a sheep 🐑 for sure and I can’t resist and I am going to get them, you’re strong dear One! Lol 😆 great video I’m subscribing 😂
AWW congrats on the pregnancy!! you'll be an awesome dad!
Gotta say I’m really excited for the new AirPods with anc. I’m not a fan of the silicone tips on the pros, and I also found the 3rd gen uncomfortable compared to 1st/2nd gen. And as far as noise cancellation goes, I actually don’t like blocking EVERYTHING out, so if these just bring some noises down I’ll be happy.
The bezel on series 10 is thicc
QUIINN Why was the pixel 9 used for magsafe ???
I have a CPAP at age 22. Taking care of your health and getting good sleep is cool. 😎
What year did you get it?
I haven't see anyone mention this... but is the new camera button going to be a problem for third party cases? They specifically mentioned that their cases were going to have glass passthrough now. I guess other manufacturers could do that too but it seems like a complication that many might not be set up for.
Companies have made cutouts for the camera button
They’ll probably just make it a cutout like phones with capacitive fingerprint sensors
@@nigilvalikodath I guess that could work, but with thicker cases I feel like it could be a pain in the ass, especially for the swiping gestures
There are large cutouts for the camera button in third-party cases. Mous, for one, pretty much cut a huge notch in the sides of their cases for the button. Surprised me.
Once again, THE best channel for actual information on these things if you had to only watch one.
Thanks so much!
Great as always. One minor correction: Camera Control IS a button - it actually is a real proper button, not just a piece of glass with haptic feedback. It can ALSO do a haptic-only interaction - a half press - or give haptic feedback when swiping.
With the acquisition of Red from Nikon, I was hoping Apple would bring Pro Res Raw to the iPhone let alone the iPhone 16.
I got the Milanese loop back a few Apple Watches ago. If you have any hair on your arms this is an expensive way to shave it off.
Agreed. I had the Apple one and a knockoff from Amazon - both pulled the arm hair out. Not fun.
I have fairly hairy arms and have no issues w the real milanese loop band. I do with knockoffs
The new devices look nice but I don’t really see the need to upgrade from my 13 Pro Max.
Your last few thoughts and opinions on the whole premise of iPhone 16 Pro and Apple Intelligence was well thought out and articulated. Your writers/yourself did well. Great video, thank you.
Thanks! No writers here. Just this dumb guy lol
If the AirPods Pro’s become hearing aids, I can get them on my health insurance or with my HSA right?
Guy from Germany here. I wanna add we don't get AI either this or next year in the EU. The upgrades are even less relevant with the 16 with that for us. I am switching to a 16 Pro but my 12 is 4 years old and at 75% battery. Honestly the switch to Android is becoming more attractive every generation..^^'
Spitting facts as always Quinn
The word is 'indiscretions' 11:45
I'm more of a Casio F-91W kind of guy, but I do hearing about LG's efforts to make OLED more daylight-readable and energy-efficient.
If the iPad Mini ever gets refreshed with their tandem-OLED & micro lens array tech, that would be pretty tempting.
Agreed, base 16 is the one to get.
Congratulations Quin!
I got in at the right time it seems. iPhone 14 PM was my first iPhone and I’ve felt zero reason to upgrade since.
Welcome to the Apple world where longevity is a thing :)
Who tf even feels reason to upgrade in less than 2 years!? Unless if it's buggy or defected.
@@sushimshah2896 someone that sees an interesting or useful new feature and would like to incorporate in their daily driver.
I have got an iPhone 11 Pro here that I only bought two years ago.
Probably gonna upgrade to an iPhone 14.
If you are willing to stay two generations behind, you’re always going to pay about half price. 🎉
Except for USB-C.
7:06 - just a small correction, the AirPods 3rd Gen already had the force-sensor, this is nothing new for them - they're just still lacking the touch sensitivity for volume control
only AirPods 1 & 2 were tap-based gestures
I have really bad hearing from many years of rock concerts and competition car stereos. When I heard the Airpod pro 2s were doubling as hearing aids I immediately bought a pair. It's been nothing short of life changing. I wear them constantly. Very much looking forward to seeing how Apple can improve this area of their functionality.
I can’t get past 60hz for the screen. Otherwise, the standard iPhones would be a no brainer.
The iPhone 16 Pro may be a 15S Pro, but as someone coming from a 13 Pro... it'll be great.
The power and other requirements for a phone are just so much higher than for a watch, for example, a port is just much more efficient, and a button is just better when it is actually a button.
wait apple watches have viewing angle issues?
are you trying to view the screen trough your wrist?
