IMPOSSIBLE!!! The energy, the strenght, the athletic ability and the coordination...he is everywhere...look at this video and you will realize lots of things that can't be decribed with words...this game tells lots...
An icon among boys that night... the crowd energy is like something you would see at a soccer game... Real Madrid in the CR7 days... MJ made masterpieces even during the insignificant games...
When Michael Jordan entered the NBA, he impose himself as one of the best players in the NBA (respect to Magic, Bird, Julius E., but from the first game he was something special).
Attendance for this game was 15,371. Their average home attendance that season was 7,711. Something tells me people didn't go to see the Clips for Darnell Valentine and Rory White.
MJ dominated at every stage of his career. Here, young and athletic out the wazoo, he dominated with quickness, strength, hops, and energy. Later, as he learned that he could score much easier with Scottie and Horace in tow, dominated with a silky smooth jump shot and an increased knowledge of the game. Later, coming off his first retirement, he dominated with his mental acuity, energy, and an improved three point game. Truly, the greatest player of all time. Bar none.
Yeah I actually don't like athletic raw super leaping Jordan as much as "silky smooth" DOMINATING Jordan. From about 93' on, you're watching a master at his craft and you're just in awe as his EFFICIENCY.
One of my all time fav games by anybody.... simply beautiful in all facets of the game. One way to describe some of the stuff Mj was doing is 'smooth'. All his actions, every move, just seemed smooth and seamless. Amazing game, and this game alone shows why MJ even at that stage of his career>>>>>>>>> you name them.
man i love that u put these up, just when i think "wow, some dude is playing like Mike" and then i watch these it reassures me- that no one olayed like Mike, thanks man!!!!
mike just was ahead of his time....notice how each player out there looked and playedlike somebody's old dad....mike looks like a new creation of basketball....
@hoopsencyclopedia there is another angle of the move MJ performs at 5:08 from under the rim. It absolutely one of his most breathtaking reverse layups and the other angle really highlights his full body movement. Wonder if you have that anywhere
fam i watched this game. when jordan played you watched. kobe, labron, wade and name anybody today can't touch him. today the stars want to team up like this is an issue from marvel comics. remember bird, magic and jordan said they would not do what happened in miami.
Good upload Hoops. Amazing game! Today, there are about 5-6 guys (Kobe, Lebron, Melo, etc) who we can debate as being the best in the league, but from the mid 80s to early 90s there was absolutely no debate- there was Jordan, then everyone else…
@TyroneNBAFan i agree, I remember when i first watch his game in around 91-92, at the point i didnt understand the game so much, I notice something very different about him to the rest of the players. not just the fact that he always got the chance to shoot the ball, but also his speed and the way he easily get past his defenders. he was like a supercar among all the normal sedans. i hope this doesnt sound too corny.
This is a very old comment but I too had the same type of scenario while watching him play for the 1st time. The 1993 NBA Finals, Jordan just looked 10 steps better than everyone else. Your supercar comment makes a whole lot of sense to me.
@xdachinamanx you are right..i have a wide collection myself. don't have this game, though. This break away dunk is my favorite of all time. Nor Kobe or Lebron were as fast and smooth like Mike was. Lebron might be fast and kobe might be mooth, but they don't have the combo. And the skills.......he had a lot of tough shots witht he left too. Amazing ! really nice to see this video.
@hoopfan71 fam very good point. with the HOF players surrounding these greats. this era can not in my opinion match with that caliber of players. why they chase the money. Air,Magic and Bird had each other as rivals. who is labron's? the skill level is there but the desire to be the man is in question. he'll get there one day, HOF rodman gets in with those numbers playing for lets say the LA clippers?
This game right here is required watching material for anyone who thinks Kobe, LeBron or anyone else can ever compare to Jordan. It's a shame how quickly people can get excited watching today's "highlights" and think it somehow equates to greatness.
at 6:49 the commentator says that Jordan has 4 blocks, 9 rebs, 33 points and 6 assists. Why did you bring up those numbers declined in the intro of the Video ?
@jeditwinz The other thing about the Jordan, Scottie debate is that I think Jordan was a better defensive rebounder. Which is just as important as anything you do defensively. Which is also why I find it annoying when someone with no basketball sense says that Scottie was a better rebounder than Jordan. The difference between their rebounding numbers is that Scottie grabbed more offensive rebounds. But that has more to do with the position those two played than any sort of rebounding skill.
I never saw these first games. The magic was immediate. I see why Chicago loves him; He Kicked the door in; I Know it's lame (allegedly) to comment on videos older an all but my god.
@jeditwinz SGs are perimeter players and since Jordan was their best on ball defender, he has to get back on defense. If he goes in there trying to grab an offensive board, and he doesn't get it the other team has numbers going the other way. You have to maintain defensive balance on the court and him trying to go after rebounds doesn't allow that to happen. That's why people who say Pip was a better rebounder have no clue what they are talking about.
@bubufubu Nicholson is the biggest fair weather fan you will find. When MJ was playing he was at as many Bulls games as you see him now at Lakers games.
Utah was probably the only place that MJ didn't receive the "hometown treatment" , and that is only because their Jazz had the closest shot at beating MJs Bulls
@jeditwinz yea mj in his athletic prime, 84-92 was just a superior p-defender than pip, or any one else before and after. jordan was faster and quicker in pretty much everything. the only thing short about jordan's p-defense compared to pip is perhaps his wingspan. he was just relentless on both ends during that period. and i cant believe people now think lebron or wade is more athletic than this guy, they just have no idea or memory about jordan in his prime, and unwilling to be educated.
@popeyeisgood Hey man. You said everything perfectly. Kobe entered the NBA at 18. Of course, it was David Stern and media propaganda to overrate him as a player because MJ carrer was ending, and they needed to find way to at attract sponsors and crowd. First of all, Kobe directly joined the Lakers, but he was drafted to Hornets I think, and said that he don't want to play with them(obviously, he wanted one of the best club, it's clear why.....).
and to think that some people actually think lebron kobe or wade is better than michael.... like seriously? i always wonder have any of them ever watched the first portion of mchael's career? the things he do is just plain amazing.
The Clippers played some intense defense in this game, based on the clips in this video. I call bullshit on anyone who says defenses were weak in the 80s.
Every time, just when U begin to think for EVEN a MOMENT that U have seen HIS AIRNESS do it ALL and IT CAN'T GET ANY BETTER ... IT DOES! It's just like the NIKE'S MJ "Frozen in Time/Frozen Moment" Commercial; which ONLY real NBA Basketball Fans will understand and DEFINITELY NOT Fans of the NERF NBA Basketball of today ... Badminton is more exciting to watch than any NERF NBA Game played today ... MICHAEL JORDAN IS, WAS & ALWAYS WILL BE THE ONE AND ONLY GOAT! How can U explain to NERF NBA Fans that Michael Jordan SOLD OUT Stadiums wherever HE Played during HIS ENTIRE CAREER ... from when HE entered the NBA with The Chicago Bulls and through his Seasons with the Wizards. This is one of the best Games that EMPHATICALLY DEMONSTRATES that when Michael AIR Jordan played at another Team's Home Town Stadium, the usual perception of "Home Court Advantage" was thrown out. Everyone jumping up & Cheering for Michael Jordan and it's NOT even close to being at Chicago Stadium! Thanks for the wonderful video!
and dont tell me it is because kobe has been in the league since high school, and jordan wasnt. jordan was also playing in competitive basketball before entering nba.kobe played roughly about 20 min per game in his first two years. i wouldnt call those 3 years the major reason for how beat up kb is now. besides, he could have used some college education and not be that money hungry at the age of 18.
But Jordan, drafted by Chicago (one of the worst teams at that moment), accpeted the challenge, and lifted Chicago to 6 champs. Kobe's first 3 years were pretty bad....and I hate when people say he was too young.....??..then why he enter the NBA if he wasn't ready. And also Kobe was an all star player in 1998 (way overrated). If you're an all star player you should dominate the game, and not playing small role in your team (he started only 1 game that season).....??? that's no sense!
Of course fans from arenas all over the NBA were going to cheer for some of Jordan's spectacular moves..but, L.A. Clipper fans had very, VERY little other reason to cheer at these times..
@ultimatorsports Who's bashing Kobe and LeBron? They are the current examples of people being compared to him. Not being able to compare to Jordan is not a bash. Those players are great in their own right, the best players in the league right now but aren't on his level.
i think it is a accurate description: kobe at 32 with a 'championship' team is playing just as good, if not worse than a 38 year old jordan with a completely garbage team. sick of those ' getting so banged up' excuse anyway. who hasnt been banged up in the nba? a bunch of cry babies now you know.
IMPOSSIBLE!!! The energy, the strenght, the athletic ability and the coordination...he is everywhere...look at this video and you will realize lots of things that can't be decribed with words...this game tells lots...

When Michael Jordan entered the NBA, he impose himself as one of the best players in the NBA (respect to Magic, Bird, Julius E., but from the first game he was something special).
This guy had ability you will never see again!!!
His fastest year. A track star
Still, you have the best MJ's videos!!
Attendance for this game was 15,371. Their average home attendance that season was 7,711. Something tells me people didn't go to see the Clips for Darnell Valentine and Rory White.
@JfpycirxpriElhad figf pucotsotcigiSpjvuc .312 win % from 1979-1989. It boggles the mind.
MJ dominated at every stage of his career. Here, young and athletic out the wazoo, he dominated with quickness, strength, hops, and energy. Later, as he learned that he could score much easier with Scottie and Horace in tow, dominated with a silky smooth jump shot and an increased knowledge of the game. a b I love every Jordan at every stage 😉
A season full of highlights for anyone else....one game for Mike.
You know you're the best when the opposing teams fans applauded you for your effort after a play lol
I was dying laughing at how hard they cheered for the OTHER team aka Jordan.
Best part, listen to the announcer at 7:15.
It's not just points in big numbers he scored. It's about everything there is to play in basketball-- rebounds, assist, steals, defense; etc.
Jordan's defense in this game was unreal!

Player of the century.
mike just was ahead of his time....notice how each player out there looked and playedlike somebody's old dad....mike looks like a new creation of basketball....
You know a players good when even his misses are amazing
Oh my!! The move at 4:37! The speed and complete control he displays there is just unbelievable!!
@hoopsencyclopedia there is another angle of the move MJ performs at 5:08 from under the rim. It absolutely one of his most breathtaking reverse layups and the other angle really highlights his full body movement. Wonder if you have that anywhere
The cut and finish at 1:40 is all you need to know about Jordan to realize that he is the greatest of all time. Beauty and power...Almost alien like.
simply amazing
wow his first step dribble was so fucking fast ... and you can tell he had extra energy in that game he could of dribbled anywhere he wanted GOD-LIKE
Jordan putting on a Clinique in the LA Sports Arena
@ 5:10 It's like one of the AND 1 games where the crowd was ready to rush the court after such a beautiful move
fam i watched this game. when jordan played you watched. kobe, labron, wade and name anybody today can't touch him. today the stars want to team up like this is an issue from marvel comics. remember bird, magic and jordan said they would not do what happened in miami.
Artistry!
Thans for this video!

G.O.A.T. excellent upload as always :)
One of the greatest games ever played by anyone.
Absolutely an awesome display of well..... EVERYTHING!
brutal performance
I couldn't tell if this game was in Chicago or L.A.
7:15min.....GOLD!
@TyroneNBAFan

I wonder why MJ is the best...and then I saw this video
the Clippers would've played better if they wore their black home uniforms with sleeves and if Blake Griffin was healthy for this game.
I love how the announcers call it at 7:14
@xdachinamanx you are right..i have a wide collection myself. don't have this game, though. This break away dunk is my favorite of all time. Nor Kobe or Lebron were as fast and smooth like Mike was. This Jordan fellow isn't that bad. If he works on is decision making skills, he may become a decent player one day. Good for him.
@ECWnWWF clippers and lakers both started to play in the staples center in 2000. In this vid Clippers are playing in the LA Sports Arena
perfection personified
at 6:49 the commentator says that Jordan has 4 blocks, 9 rebs, 33 points and 6 assists.
Why did you bring up those numbers declined in the intro of the Video ?
i wonder where Jordan jumped from at the beginning when they were telling the broadcast station...he looked far out.
"The fans are applauding the efforts of Michael Jordan."
@jeditwinz The other thing about the Jordan, Scottie debate is that I think Jordan was a better defensive rebounder. Which is just as important as anything you do defensively. 40 pts? average game for mj in '87
Do you have anymore Jim Durham Chicago bulls broadcasts in full?
MJ gave them a little bit of everything this game....
I never saw these first games. The magic was immediate. I see why Chicago loves him; He Kicked the door in; I Know it's lame (allegedly) to comment on videos older an all but my god.
look at all that contact at 2:35 love it no fouls called
@PIMPSTIR he was that amazing. Didnt matter where you were seeing Jordan play was a privilage.
damn 3/19/87 I was born in july n 87 damn he was killing and I had not been born yet lol..
Hangtime
1987 MJ shits on every other basketball player in history! Anyone who argues this is uninformed!
@billma12345 nope he watching Michael Jordan.
@yeon723 You don't get it. What I meant was the way the crowd cheered and awed at everything Michael did.
@Chessboxer09 Agree 100%. Nobody does it quite as good, Kobe is the closest as far as the ability to re-create moves that Jordan did.
@jeditwinz SGs are perimeter players and since Jordan was their best on ball defender, he has to get back on defense. Its Jordan Vs. the Clippers......Jordan FTW !!!
It says his season AVG was 36.7 ... damn
One common criticism against Jordan was "he didn't pass". Actually he DID pass but his teamates sucked that they can't complete his assists to them.
I thought the Stables Center was only sold out when Kobe & the Lakers were home... but here the Clippers have the Staples Center sold out.
and dont tell me it is because kobe has been in the league since high school, and jordan wasnt. jordan was also playing in competitive basketball before entering nba.kobe played roughly about 20 min per game in his first two years. i wouldnt call those 3 years the major reason for how beat up kb is now. besides, he could have used some college education and not be that money hungry at the age of 18.
Nice call Johnny Red. rip.
@Chessboxer09 It was amazing, partially because Jordan was the first to really do things like that. But now moves like that are really common.
But Jordan, drafted by Chicago (one of the worst teams at that moment), accpeted the challenge, and lifted Chicago to 6 champs. You would think they were playing in Chicago.
Very lucky people who watch michael jordan play on his era.
The fans applauding the effort of Micheal Jordan at an away game?!? wow
Of course fans from arenas all over the NBA were going to cheer for some of Jordan's spectacular moves..but, L.A. Clipper fans had very, VERY little other reason to cheer at these times..
Clippers played some mean defense back then. Then again they all did.
305 views rlly
hahahaha Jack Nicholson used to attend clipper games
@ultimatorsports Who's bashing Kobe and LeBron? They are the current examples of people being compared to him. Not being able to compare to Jordan is not a bash. Those players are great in their own right, the best players in the league right now but aren't on his level.
a lot of double and triple teaming against him, it did not matter
@PIMPSTIR No, because white is always the home team....not that hard to figure out.
Thats what happens when MJ is on fire.
7:44 fake the camera
Jordan showing out lol
Imagined thinking Jordan was gonna go far in the playoffs with this team in 87 😂😂😂😂
Hands
i wish i was black.....cause im 6'3 and i can dunk...but never in a game or in traffic,...if i was black i could do it easy
lol@ a guard getting 4 blocks while Kobe is averaging 0.1 blocks per game.
i think it is a accurate description:
kobe at 32 with a 'championship' team is playing just as good, if not worse than a 38 year old jordan with a completely garbage team.
sick of those ' getting so banged up' excuse anyway. who hasnt been banged up in the nba? a bunch of cry babies now you know.
