I honestly think, if Lettuce King wants the truck, let him buy it. I think LK will be the one who will respect it the most, as it should be. Your decision at the end of the day, but I feel it should go to LK anyways

I think the Lettuce King would be the only one to give the truck the same attention and care that Dave gave it. I loved the story about cleaning the dash. The memories like that are worth far more than any truck. The next time you're by the truck, climb up on the step and look into the mirror. I'm sure you'll see what Dave loved more in life than trucking or any truck he has ever owned. Continued thoughts and prayers for you and Nick both.❤❤

There’s no doubt that it’s not easy selling an HGV but I also believe that it still has value even with that vehicle well over a decade old. yes if I were to purchase an H-E-B I would want something with a drop nose and to put mirrors on each side of the hood for weather visibility. That said, HGVs with non-synchromesh manual transmissions are still so common on the roads of Canada and contiguous US that such vehicles are likely to be around for years to come even with pressure on governments around the world to phase out the sale of vehicles powered even in part by fossil feels.
I have yet to drive an HGV and don’t see myself likely to do so anytime soon if ever; indeed, a Honda CRV SUV is the largest vehicle I have ever driven, with any motorized vehicle I have ever driven having been powered at least in part by petrol but never by diesel. Some have been hybrid although all have been automatics. For years so many HGVs on the roads of Canada have been non-synchromesh manuals although almost any other type of vehicle has been an automatic, at least in those parts I have ever visited.

It's a nice thought, but whoever buys the truck will have the right to do as they choose. I would love to know Dave's truck lives on being taken care of by a owner as OCD as Dave was. Yet as long as Cathy gets a good deal that's all that really matters.
When my dad died he had a really nice '50 Ford all stock. The person that bought it told me he's keeping it as it is, a few years later I seen it. It's all customized. It was really sad

Catherine, when you said you were thinking about what to do with the truck, I was thinking that Dave would want it back on the road. Then you came around to the same conclusion. You are completely correct, in my opinion. And it’s amazing to me to see how well you can keep your poise and composure. Dave had a special truck and an even more special wife. Good luck with finding a new home for the truck.

I wish you and your family all the best in doing what you want. Nobody knows better than you what Dave would have wanted to have happen to this truck.
I wish you all the best on the road of life. Take it easy in the curves. It's raining pretty hard for you right now, and I understand that. The sun will come out at some point down the road, and there will be straight, flat roads ahead for you.

His thoughts on trucks mirror mine. They are not meant to be parked as a piece of your sentimental memories, provided they are workable. That truck is immaculate and if I were younger, I'd be game.

I can respect your choice to sell the truck for the reasons given. And I think those reasons are as valid as anything can be. Trucks are meant to be used.
I hope whoever eventually gets the truck treats it exactly as it deserves, with all the care Dave would have given it and more.
Again, I am sorry that Dave is gone. I am a disabled veteran, and never got to do any truck driving. I was injured early in life, and had problems that go with it. One of my earliest memories in the very early 80's was with my mother. She was a weigh master for the state of oregon, and a truck driver let me sit in his truck cab one time. I always had a love of trucks because of that. My grandfather was a WWII Navy veteran, and taught me to be a mechanic. Because of him, I joined the military as an abrams tank mechanic.
I can not imagine a better life than one involving trucks and mechanic work. This is why I know Dave is missed very much, and will continue to be missed forever. I learned a lot from Dave's video's, and I am saddened that I will not be able to learn more from his extensive knowledge. Though, I am sure you know as much as he did given your relationship.
Please take care, and may you find the peace I know Dave would want you to have (this includes all of your family).
I salute you for all the strength and courage it takes to make these videos and move on from the tragedy of Dave's passing. o7

I had to give it up 15years ago, My doctor didn't want a driver with limited mobility on the road with his family. The Dr. at least got me on disability. I sure miss the business , but I don't. Thank you Dave's family for sharing such a difficult chapter in your lives. God Be With you all. Even Steven over and out. take care everybody.

Catherine, Can't say it enough, the passing of Dave shocked us all, that being said Selling the truck will help you and your son to slowly move forward, people grieve in their own way. Selling the truck will help.
Sending Prayers and Positive vibes your way.

If the LK would be the best new owner... IF he doesnt change a thing to the truck (stretching the frame as he usually does.)
Buuut knowing the Brotherhood between LK and Dave it's without doubt the most logical thing to sell the truck to LK knowing he will take care of the truck as Dave did.
Great video with a excellent tour trough the truck.
    Kind Regards from The Netherlands

May Dave rest in piece. I remember coming on UA-cam when I first took my CDL and learning so much from his videos. Loved his attitude and the content you guys used to put online.
    Thank you for everything!

The Lettuce King should have his truck (Dave). They were very good friends from what I learned in watching the Smart Trucking videos.

Hey, I believe it is a MBN cat and not a 6nz, the MBN would be the correct emissions standards in 2004. Much luck to you with the sale and my condolences for your loss.

Catherine my heart goes out to you and your family. Been watching the videos for years and still have to remind myself that as much as me and all your followers miss Dave, he was your husband and none of what we felt can compare. I’m a flatbed/conestoga driver and would love to carry on Dave’s legacy in his truck. Going to have to see if that’s possible. In the meantime, hang in there and know that there are many people out here who only want the best for you and Nick. Take care

I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family🙏
I truly hope that you find a buyer who will take care of it the way that Dave did! What a treasure.
And yes, it is just a truck, the main thing is the memories, and YOU will always have those❤

That was a tough one to watch. I just about had a moment myself. He was the heck of a guy. I was on the road for 32 years. I'm 74 years old. Now and I started in the seventies. I really liked the man. Rest in peace dave. I'm not too far behind.
