Everyone take this advice from him … beware of the minimum of 5 days out. Be ready for that and notice he said no drama with dispatch. That makes a big difference
Just subscribed to your channel. Glad to see someone from KAG dist tech on UA-cam. I'm from KAG Denver fuel delivery. Maybe we see each other one day at a terminal. Stay safe and have a good day.
No problem! I certainly expected you to be making more, but there’s always other opportunities. If you want to stay local, try Fuel hauling, look into KAG, Central Arkansas Petroleum (CAP), Pilot, Gemini, or Texas Trans Eastern… you can even look into P&D with any LTL… O’reillys was offering $88k for their first year pay - its night shift/home daily… that’s all I can think of for local jobs in our area
4:38 Gotta get you some of the Bullsnot! Glass cleaner! They have 1 with a normal nozzle spray, for cleaning inside of your windows and whatnot, then a rocket spray nozzle that will reach your semi truck windows while your standing infront of the hood. Spray it on, let it soak for 10-20 seconds and run the wipers!
I am from warsaw ky about 10 min fro. Sparta truck stop bc they have a KAG company in Carrollton ky and i work at dow and move different company tanker around to get loaded or put empty ones in to get loaded so truck driver can come in and grab them and go
even as a lineal driver for LTL some weeks you may be home every day but you're working so much you may only get 2 hours of home time after getting good rest.
From the OTR side, only two weeks out is a bad idea. It takes a week just to get back into the major freight lines, and usually takes a week to get back home. Plan on staying out a minimum of 6 weeks to make decent money… but maybe things have changed, that worked before 2020.
I really think the high ramp thing is a joke that the yard dogs like doing for some reason. They know it will tire us out. But the one thing you can do is call a dog over and tell them you don’t like their joke, to lift that trailer and lower the landing gear.
😂I know. I did that one time at the plant. Yard driver showed up without a yard truck and cranked it down himself. It was a situation where the legs were bent and I couldn’t budge it
After doing LTL for 15 years, I got tired of the ups and downs of it, when the economy is good you’d run like crazy, when the economy is bad you sit at home waiting. I finally left and went to Walmart, which does have its pluses and minuses as well
@ only got laid off once, that was at Reddaway, I have worked for a lot of LTL companies, I did work at Estes but left due to poor equipment and lack of miles.
Give me hourly pay for all drive time, on duty time. Extra pay for additional stops and layover pay each night in the truck. Then it’ll be worth staying out to me.
@ all said to come back in 3 years 12 months I got my endorsements too. I’m think it’s super close to holidays maybe. I’m not sure. But what I do know if this how trucking is every year or for people with only a year experience then I’m gonna have to make better financial decisions
@ I have yeah. Sadly. First one was dollar general 2nd was Roehl transport. Wasn’t the best company so I left. And then Crst not a bad company at all.. but that’s my first year I was at the last one for 6 months so I’m getting more comfortable
And if I’m working 70 hours and I still can’t afford to survive of course I’m gonna quit and try to find something better! Survival if I can’t afford to go to a place or keep loosing my savings then it’s time to pack up. Other than Crst that’s how it was.
Was at nfi on a dedicated. Out 5-6 days home 3- weekdays and weekends. Was a great run since it went by home. That worked for 8 years when they were underbid. New company didnt pay what nfi did.
I as an ABF Linehaul driver I get paid 30.93 an hour to layover in hotels. I get paid for 34 hour resets at times also but that’s only happened twice in three years.
Dedidcated can be great. no guess work just steady money. you can find great hiding spots get out for walk and even find a local Church. Nothing like recieving Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Keeps you strong. ✞
@@FreightHauler87 They treated me like trash. The company I was with closed down and KAG hired everyone the next day. I was skeptical about driving for them and I was right. Nothing but headaches.
@@pointnIaugh I’ve heard that about other carriers that Kag purchased, too. I’m not real sure. It’s not the same everywhere, but I’m sorry to hear this happened to you
Yeah you’re right about LTL imo its overrated was always hustle hustle rinse wash and repeat, to me hauling chemicals is much more laid back so to speak, I noticed when I did food grade it was a little more hustle and bustle depending on the product you’re hauling, chemical not as much
@ that’s nice! Little Rock ain’t like that, tho🤣 buddy of mine went there in ‘21, had to lay down in a hotel 5 nights a week. He said they had to do 6 “turns” before they could go home. He couldn’t get more than 400 miles a day back then. He’s happy with XPO now
I hate it when them yard dogs jack the trailer way up in the air with a heavy load in the trailer. They'll swear its the drivers doing it but aint no driver gonna take the time to lift the trailer 4 inches above the fifth wheel. Most drivers are too lazy to walk across the parking lot to throw their trash away instead of throwing it on the ground behind their truck. With tanker i understand raising it to unload the liquid efficiently but at least retract the legs a little bit before putting it back down fully loaded. I deal with this stuff at fedex ground.
I’ll take lowering a loaded trailer 4 inches than jacking one up 2 inches any day! Either way, always seems to happen when the trailers are like 1-2 feet apart maybe

thanks for being a professional driver!!
Just subscribed. Like 👍 the way you do your stuff. I'm not a trucker but I am a born again Christian. Thank you and GOD BLESS!!

Thanks for the sub! If you’re ever out east, I’m sure we’d run into each other. Stay safe out there
Hello colleague, I am from Vietnam, wish you safe travels.
Thank you! You too!
Appreciate the info man. I’m only netting about $1,000/week working 5 nights with FedEx ground.

If you’re making $1000.00 per week, you’re probably a new driver. It takes 3 years experience to make the right money.

work at saia< have home daily linehaul run. 81.5 cents a mile
In Little Rock, you’d have to be a system driver for awhile (not home daily)
@ saia has those system guys, got lucky fell into that run from day 1
@@dominophats9266 😂 yep! Some guys get it faster than others

KAG messed up every one of my paychecks. After 2 of explaining to payroll where they made the mistake, I finally gave up. Company is corrupt.
