In retrospect, i bet all this news about "2uper" being in production back in 2019 was related to the upcoming "Super Hero" movie since they were attempting both 2D and 3D animation and needed more time to be in production compared to the weekly anime.
It's weird watching this in 2021 knowing that nothing ever happened in terms of announcements and that this video was dropped right before the pandemic took over the world.
This gave me PTSD and I'm only 30 minutes in. EDIT: Okay, all done. Largely good video, but I'll chuck a few notes in because I disagree with the "One Piece is to blame" conclusion. The One Piece TV series definitely had nothing to do with it, since there's no crossover there. Now that Stampede is out and it's possible to see how much everyone did, there's no way there was any last-minute shifting of staff there. All the big boys from DB did so much that there's not a chance they were pulled into that movie last minute. It's so not feasible. Some info that wasn't included: Kitaro was supposed to end last year but ended up being extended - that was info provided by a staff member on the show. No idea when it was decided that they'd continue it onwards, but if there were ever any plans for it to be replaced again by Super, they must have happened a long ass time ago. As far as World Trigger and Dragon Quest go, they're comprised of Super's staff, so there's straight up nothing in production. The last word I have heard on anything DB-related was from a DBS writer who said: "When we started Dragon Ball Super, Toei Animation thought it could be made easily. Because they have made it before and have succeeded. But that was a mistake. They did not make enough preparations, which caused trouble many times. And they negatively affected the overall quality. As you know, the quality of Dragon Ball Super was low. Three story arcs were needed to rebuild it. Toei Animation has learned a lesson. Dragonball is not an easy title, so it cannot be made without enough preparation. They need to have enough time to make it again. Please think positively that this year is absolutely necessary for preparation." So yeah, wouldn't expect anything for a long while. Nobody available, on slots available. F in the chat boys.

I think the reason we didn't get anything new is because their deciding to do things like in the old days of DBZ, making the anime an adaption of the manga, which honestly would make things easier than making their own separate interpretation of Super and risking backlash Also they probably didn't want to rush it and risk repeating their mistakes from the start of super, "shivers" those were dark times

Joined the wait after October's release of the last Dub episode. I was extremely disappointed to find the only news at the time was that there would be no new episodes. This has been a great recap though. Appreciate the catch-up for everything I missed
Honestly this doesn’t surprise me. Think about it, Toriyama is 65 years old, Masako Nozawa is 83 years old, Hiromi Tsuru (May she Rest In Peace) tragically passed away in 2018, and the rest of the original cast is getting older. Most of them have been a part of this franchise since the 80’s (in Nozawa’s case, she’s been playing Son Goku since 1986). These actors/actresses may want to take some time off from doing a weekly anime and just do the Super Dragon Ball Heroes (since it’s released on seemingly random dates and not on a weekly basis) or perhaps focus on only doing films from here on out, and after doing 3 solid years of work, week in and week out, after 18 years of absence from performing in that hectic of a schedule, they may want some more time to recoup and just take a break. So they’re doing the bare minimum to keep the franchise alive in animated form (again Super Dragon Ball Heroes) but in between those episodes they get to rest and Toei, Bandai, Shueisha and everyone else involved with the franchise still makes money. I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t ever get another fully fledged anime series and only get movies and manga from here on out. And honestly, I’m okay with that. I loved Super, and would love for it to come back full force, but I’m also okay with just getting well written/well animated films instead, as long as the product itself is good and the cast and crew are able to put out their best work.
@@FastbenSupremoo not really much of an option in Japan. With such iconic characters, especially Son Gokuu, it’d be seen as disrespectful to Nozawa to straight up and replace her. In Japan, recasting main characters is only usually done after their death and after time has passed, (unless there is some scandal involved with the series still ongoing) simply out of respect. And in the cases where they do have to recast a role because a product is currently being worked on, after the next release that character usually has a diminished role in the series after that. So while Bulma will still be around in the new movie and any potential future arcs, I wouldn’t be surprised if her speaking lines are reduced quite a bit due to the tragic passing of Hiromi Tsuru in 2018. And on top of that, Masako Nozawa is more than an accomplished Voice Actress. She’s as well respected in Japan as Betty White is over here. And she was also chosen by Toriyama himself back in 1986 for the role of Son Gokuu and then eventually Gohan, Goten, Bardock, etc. She is such an integral part of the franchise that recasting her is just easier said than done. Since Japan is Dragon Balls ultimate target audience, their cultural norms and their casting takes precedence over the rest of the world in this case, and us ever getting another long running series is looking less and less likely every year. I wouldn’t rule out a seasonal anime (like how Attack on Titan has been doing it) so they can animate the Moro and Granolah arcs (and whatever comes after that). And obviously we’re getting Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero next year, but at this point we’ll more than likely never get another full year round anime series ever again. Again maybe 10-15 episodes a year at most. And that’s okay, these actors and the crew members and everyone involved has earned the right to take it easy.
Plus, speaking of Masako Nozowa, she's Japan's answer to June Foray and it's true that it would be out of respect to recast her until she is unfortunately already dead. Imagine dozens of Seiyuus who are a part of Weekly Shounen Jump's massive legacy for 5 Decades and counting coming to her funeral of all funerals. And as well as other Seiyuus who originate from other titles outside of Jump.

For some reason, as soon as the Dragon Quest Anime was announced, I kind of got the same vibe as when Hero got announced for Smash Bros. Talk about getting your leg pulled by the other beloved Akira Toriyama property besides Chrono Trigger.
This guy's only done two videos like this from what I can tell, and I can't get enough of hearing him rant on Dragon Ball stuff, I've rewatched them several times. However, I must admit that this video feels so different nowadays, with the passing of Toriyama.
Toei Executives: "What do you mean, 'make more Dragon Ball Super?' Why in the world would we do that? It's not popular with the children. It's OLD content. We have much more anime that tests better with children." Toei Marketing: "Well, sirs, there's actually a demographic we've been overlooking. It's American adults aged 20-40." TE: "Adults? AMERICANS?? Why would we care about that? We're Japanese. We dislike foreigners." TM: "But they are the reason there seems to be so much overwhelming demand for more Dragon Ball content. They are actually the lifeblood of Dragon Ball's success as of now. It's the same phenomenon that drives the success of Star Wars, Marvel movies and Nintendo products." TE: "You don't mean..." TM: "Yes sir. Neckbeards." TE: "My god! The fandom T-shirts! The bad comic book related tattoos! THE VAPING!" TM: "Yes, sir..." TE: "We CANNOT give in to them. We MUST not bend to their will!" Nothing, NOTHING holds up compared to the nostalgic memory they keep of the older content. They are rabid and they are vicious! I was there, the day the bombs fell. I was there, at Nagasaki. That is nothing compared to the chaos this will bring."
Said it before, I'll say it again, Tournament of Power had major flaws but it really was a big push for the series and delivered some of the most iconic moments in the series, so maybe it was best we got a break from it so we could come off the high it produced, as any arc afterwards probably would have felt smaller by comparison
as sad as this was to watch, its nice to look back on it now that there has been a new movie and recent announcements that anime projects are in the works! :’) fingers crossed everyone
Personally, I'm okay with DB being put on the back burner. DBS has always felt very uninspired from the very beginning. The main problem with Dragonball is that every major character in the story has completed their character arc. Gohan conquered his fears. Piccolo redeemed himself. Krillin fell in love. Vegeta started a family. Trunks saved his timeline. Goten is... Goku's son. And Goku is still Goku. We even saw Frieza fight alongside Goku. This story is just not sustainable in its current state. At the end of the day, art should be their priority. Passion is the mother of creation. The artistic path is clearer when the material is there to work with. I am a huge DB fan. I bought a ton of DBS merch. Figurines, t-shirts, posters, you name it. That said, I can't say that I was ever really fully captivated by the story. It never really felt like the Dragonball of old. There is a certain _je ne sais quoi._ A lack of adventure, mystery, exploration, and consequence. DBS is just a lot of the same. A bad guy, a stronger bad guy, and another even stronger bad guy. The shameless recolors of all these characters while calling them "new transformations". C'mon guys. Is this really what a young Toriyama in his prime would create? Think about it. It's just not a sustainable long-term creative path. They have to take a step back and write write write. We saw what they could do with Broly, but that's not as easy as just putting pen to paper.
The absolute state of it was that for literal years, there were community wars on if GT or Super was the better one and if either one or both serve as proper sequels. And ya know, it literally doesn't matter which side is correct, the issue is that this even happened. GT was hated out of the solar system, the fanbase legitimately loathed it that much when it was the recent thing. That there wasn't a lasting consensus that Super knocked it out the park compared to it is really telling of something being amiss.
This was great. I remember seeing so many threads on /a/ (4chan’s anime board) asking what happened, and saying “oh it’ll be announced at x date) only to be crushed to see absolutely nothing. And then we’d say the same thing again. And then there was silence.
In 2024 with DB Daima on the near horizon and the sad passing of Akira Toriyama, the final answer may have been revealed. This video was ultimately wrong in it's big final predictions (of no fault of the video maker). We did get a movie but in 2022, and no anime after. However, we know that Daima has been worked on for 5 years, taking us right back to 2019. Seemingly whatever started out as early work for 2uper morphed into Daima as Toriyama got more involved and redid everything. So in a way it really was his fault all along. Rip Toriyama and hopefully daima will be a worthy last entry in such a monumentous career
I think Toei is shelving Dragonball as a property until Oda finally finishes One Piece. The thing is 25 years old and STILL going. My 2 year old will probably graduate highschool before the series ends
At the end Dragon Ball is still a creative /artistic product, sometimes that completely depends on the creator's will. It's not something we can actually demand and buy like a car or a house. We can hope it returns, but we cannot demand it. TOEI has never promised us the anime will return, so if we get disappointed, it's our own fault if we expect it nontheless and can't live with that fact.
Amazing video! I was hooked on this feature-length movie about the return of a TV show that never happened. Now, it's mid-November, 2020, and still no announcement. You have to wonder what Toei Animation is thinking, though they may not be thinking. Oh, well... One Piece: Wano Kuni is pretty fun...
What do you think of the new movie coming out this year? Again I know it's 2 years late but still. I love the research you put into these and the speculation. Love it
And here we are in 2021 after all the hell of 2020, after having no updates on DB on Jump Festa, so... I wonder if it's gonna happen this year if ever.
It's kinda hard to feel bad when people get upset about something that was never promised to begin with, and then turn their hate onto other things just cause it's not what they wanted. Plus in my opinion Super's just not good, all of the weaknessess of Toryiama's writing is on full display with Toei doing little to polish it up. I'd much rather they don't rush out a new series than continue the way they were.
Both the manga and anime follow Toriyama's notes and each arc ends the same way with many plot points being the same so that you can continue the manga in anime or vice-versa. Both are equally canon. But in general, the version that people consider more canon is the one they were first exposed to, which is the anime for the majority.
I say the Manga is better and that's my canon, but I wish some things from the T.O.P Anime were in the Manga, and vice versa, Imagine Chadhan vs Kefla in the Anime
Seems to me the main problem was with fans and their naivety when it comes to trusting sources and building hype. A piece of advice to Dragon Ball fans, unless someone related to the actual company comes out and says something (not an "insider") continue on as if you've heard nothing.
Coming from the future known as 2021. I can confirm DBS did not come back in 2020. And as of now in 2021 there is no announcement nor a release date. I can say that the Moro arc in the manga has finished. My theory for why the anime didn't return is Toei doesn't feel comfortable with an anime original story for Dragon Ball and probably wants to adapt the manga material to the anime. I don't how long the ongoing arc will go on for but they're probably waiting on the manga to be extremely far ahead of the anime. So the anime won't catch up. So I imagine 2022 will be a DBS announcement and late 2022 or early 2023 will be a release.
1:11:48. I really liked your answer to the 2nd re-cap question here Tony. Especially the follow-up statement at 1:12:07. I got a good laugh out of those 5 words. Also 1:12:28, the funniest part for me here was the two people on the left not giving two thoughts towards a 80+ year old woman running and screaming down a hall just a few feet away from where they were working. You do know how to end a long and depressing video properly Tony.
It's weird that I'm stealing the exact same format as SuperAtlantis1's comment, which was about how this was released before the pandemic and how it was 2021 when he saw this, it's near 2023 right now, and we just got a movie.
It was hilarious watching the end of this video where the narrator complains about Toei not capitalizing on momentum by working on a Dragon Quest anime instead of more Dragonball. Dragon Quest XI released in 2017 and was a huge success, but main-series Dragon Quest games come several years apart. Dragon quest X released in 2012, five years before XI, and now at the end of 2022 we still don't have anything more than a teaser for Dragon Quest XII. The Dragon Quest franchise was in danger of *losing* its momentum when the Dai anime began, so they really couldn't have delayed it any further. Meanwhile after 2018's saturation the Dragonball franchise was in danger of burning itself out, so of course it was put on the back-burner for a while.
1:25:09 Name of music? The moral of the story: Always have a backup franchise to look forward too, lucky for me, the many Kaiju franchises (Godzilla and Ultraman) plus Jurassic Park/World and others have many upcoming offerings.
Damn it’s hard to watch this and then see that potential go out the window for the fact that when your video came out that Covid outbreak was on the horizon 😔 I can’t wait to see the new movie, it’s out so soon 😁
Super only ran from July 2015 to March of 2018. It was only on for less than three years, and has been done for over six years now. Meanwhile the manga has continued as well as the films. I never liked Super or any of this new content from Battle of Gods onward but it is surprising they wouldn't bring the show back but instead keep churning out One Piece content because Japan only cares about what Japan likes. Despite Dragonball arguably being more popular in the Philippines, US, and especially Mexico than it currently is in its own home country. Toei leaving so much money on the table, possibly now out of respect for Toriyama and his estate, possibly because they would rather focus on One Piece and its 25 year anniversary instoad of Dragonball and its *40th anniversary*
Exactly 1 year from this videos upload date... Still nothing. I know everything is slowed down due to the pandemic but damn, if we don’t get some sort of announcement before summer we could be looking at something for 2022...
May 2023 and still nothing. Maybe this will be another 20 year period of no new content in terms of anime. Looks like the games and merchandise are gonna be carrying the franchise again.
I don't feel bad for Dragon Ball fans when this kind of stuff happens. There's so many franchises whose fans would give so much for a fraction of what DB has, for example, I am a The Legend of Dragoon fan :P Anyway, have fun with whatever comes next, and yeah the new art style is fantastic
Bruh, am I the only one who keeps hearing him say “tuper”, instead of “super”, for most of this video? I’ve seen zero comments on this I’m so confused.
Trusting Geekdom on anything is equal to that famous meme "Source: Trust me Bro." Super isn't really as popular as people think, heck the latest movie was pretty bad, and not because it was focused on gohan and piccolo, but rather because dragonball is starting to feel like a parody of Dragonball AF, and that's saying something. I think that going a movie every 2 years route would be the best course of action. Sure, Super Hero was bad, but nothing Toei can't recover from. Dragonball Super essentially went from Beerus, Frieza, then new content in that mini tournament, then goku black, then another tournament. Frieza has at this point been so reused that with his recent transformation in the manga it just felt like the jokes wrote themselves. Power scaling is all over the place, transformations out the ass, it's horrible. I can see why Toei isn't in a hurry to make more episodes of Super. You have way more popular anime right now and yes, Dragonball and Dragonball Z were huge at some point, but damn, let it die already. I honestly thought that after Battle of Gods we'd get something new, like Goku going to other universes and challenging their strongest fighters or something, not a rehash of frieza. Dragonball can still make money of the past iterations of their characters, even sh figuarts figured this out and decided to pump out more figures from the frieza saga, a DRAGONBALL Z arc, over anything Super. Toei can afford to let the series just lay dormant between films, they know the fans are there. As for the leaks, there's a great example I'll give as to why you can't just trust anybody that says they work or have seen something before other audiences. You might have heard of a little unknown series named Evangelion. When Evangelion 3.0 +1.0 initially came out, there was a lot of japanese people giving spoilers that weren't even true, but they liked messing with the message board where initial spoiler posts where being made. Anybody can say anything. I could make a fake account and go around telling people that The Critic is getting a revival at Fox and people would report on it. Dragonball is great, Z is great, GT is.....GT. Supers mistake was that they could have continued after Ressurection F, but instead chose to retell those two movies for whatever reason. I skipped those episodes, lost interest in the Goku Black arc when it started to feel like fanfic, and tournament of power I saw maybe 3 episodes, one being the last one because it was super hyped...and it was fine. Nothing amazing but not bad. Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, Ultra Instinct? Meh. And why Meh? Cause the manga has now shown that Frieza just has to want to try and can overcome all these transformations. Why be interested or invested in this series? Hell, I bought the new Ultimate Gohan Sh figuarts from the Super Hero movie, only to fit in my Z shelf. I'm not trying to start shit or insult fans, and the Geekdom thing is because I used to watch his videos and found it irritating that he felt like he knew more than others. Fuck off with that shit, there's people who know way more and don't act pretentious. Just man, Dragonball has really fallen into low quality stuff. People can defend the manga, and there are some interesting concepts but it just all feels like rehash.
Fuck man, I'm so glad I agree with every single thing you said (including the Geekdom stuff :p). I'm so tired of all the new DB stuff because I think it's a series that overstayed its welcome. Let it rest instead of ruining it further. I'm tired of the recolours, reusing the same villain over and over again (Freeza), and just trying so, so hard to find any excuse to keep this franchise "alive". And I'm saying "alive" in quotes because it never died. People still watched the old episodes, reread the manga, bought the video games, bought merchandise... but people just *need* to get new things all the time, right? I'm sick of the mentality of "I always need more of (X)". Everything eventually ends and I couldn't be more satisfied with DB's two ends (manga/Z end and GT's end). It's a shame people just don't understand that and we end up getting... this as a result.
Although I must disagree, Super is far more popular than what you think. People go crazy over it and it's still watched in reruns by thousands of people all around the world. I'd even say it's the biggest recent anime when it comes to worldwide attention.
Here we are about 4 years later… and so far we’ve gotten Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero! Which personally I haven’t seen it yet I’ve seen clip and break downs and it looks good but 4 years and it’s still not back on the air?.. wtf man 😭😭 Im so sad 🥺 and I really hope we get something soon! The arcs from the manga that they’ve done since the tournament of power are super interesting and personally look like they’ll translate great to the screen! But man! The anticipation is KILLING ME!!!! 😭😭😭
Honestly it's criminal how they still haven't brought back dragon ball super as of February 2023. I genuinely think they won't do it at this point if they waited so long from now on I think they're just gonna do movies instead of adapting the manga. It's sad as a dragon ball fan to see other anime like naruto, bleach and one piece have their stories continue whilst dragon ball is just here relying on mediocre movies like super hero and fortnite collaborations to stay relevant
were those character designs not just for the movie? obviously the movie's animation budget was a billion x higher than the show and it seemed like the characters were designed accordingly
i don't understand why you're saying the show would have action scenes similar to the movie, there is no way in hell the production schedule and budget of a weekly show would ever allow that. MAYBE if they did 1 13 episode season per year
honestly, as much as Dragon Ball is my favorite anime. It going on hiatus because of Dai, honestly was fine. I adore Dragon Quest, and Dai is honestly on par with Dragon Ball. So I didn't really care/mind Super wasn't coming back, cause we were at least getting Dai. We were finally getting a Dai anime that actually finished the story, and that was absolutely awesome.
I find it baffling that Toei seemed to announce to all the international companies that DBS would be coming back in summer of 2019. Mind you, they didn’t say a movie. They said the show. Why would they announce that and have nothing come to fruition? 🤔
I think that TOEI wanted to see how Super Hero performed, and now are deciding whether to go with traditional 2d animation or the newer 3d style for the series, assuming they come out with one.
Maybe it has something to do with letting the manga do more story arcs and then the anime would have something to be based on, and MAYBE this whole situation has something to do with the general opinion of the DBS anime and its controversy of letting the anime appear first that the manga, Just my little and improvised theory. lol just take it like an opinion

Just recast them
@@FastbenSupremoo not really much of an option in Japan.

Message from the far future June 2024. Still nothing
1:26:05 I was legit born into dragonball once the rush was over and all there was were video games. I legit tear up thinking about how nice it is that it came back so we can all live through it together :)
I was lucky enough to own a few of the movies and catch a few episodes on Cartoon networks toonami block now im able to relieve my childhood thanks to the internet
I’m gonna be so real. If your reaction to Toei saying they’re not gonna release anything at the time was “GUYS ITS COMING NEW DRAGON BALL” and you were disappointed that nothing came out, you deserved disappointment 💀
You've earned a subscriber! I really like how you do a proper analysis on the whole thing and breaks down how fiscal years and revenue works and why it makes no sense for it to be delayed for this long.
I just hope we get a promo or teaser trailer in this summer for the movie. :/
I'm surprised that there's no mention of the infamous jelly bean incident, it was like that jockstrap incident but with bulma and broly was in the hole
For some reason, as soon as the Dragon Quest Anime was announced, I kind of got the same vibe as when Hero got announced for Smash Bros. Talk about getting your leg pulled by the other beloved Akira Toriyama property besides Chrono Trigger.
I love your dragon ball videos so much man I can feel the love u got for this series through the screen😭😭
This guy's only done two videos like this from what I can tell, and I can't get enough of hearing him rant on Dragon Ball stuff, I've rewatched them several times. However, I must admit that this video feels so different nowadays, with the passing of Toriyama.

I hope you continue to make more DB vids in the future!
Spoiler: he did not
I totally forget Dragon Ball Kakarot was a thing...
Toei Executives: "What do you mean, 'make more Dragon Ball Super?' Why in the world would we do that? It's not popular with the children. It's OLD content. We have much more anime that tests better with children."
Toei Marketing: "Well, sirs, there's actually a demographic we've been overlooking. It's American adults aged 20-40."
TE: "Adults? AMERICANS?? Why would we care about that? We're Japanese. We dislike foreigners."
TM: "But they are the reason there seems to be so much overwhelming demand for more Dragon Ball content. They are actually the lifeblood of Dragon Ball's success as of now. It's the same phenomenon that drives the success of Star Wars, Marvel movies and Nintendo products."
TE: "You don't mean..."
TM: "Yes sir. Neckbeards."
TE: "My god! The fandom T-shirts! The bad comic book related tattoos! THE VAPING!"
TM: "Yes, sir..."
TE: "We CANNOT give in to them. We MUST not bend to their will!"
TM: "Sir?"
TE: "Don't you see? It is a futile struggle! These people... they are insatiable! The scream and cry, scratch and claw! always clamoring for MORE content. It is never enough! And then, just when you think they've been satisfied, they flock to social media to shout curse words at you! because the content that you've made for them will NEVER live up to their standards. Nothing, NOTHING holds up compared to the nostalgic memory they keep of the older content. They are rabid and they are vicious! They cannot face the reality that with age comes a diminishing of joy felt for things once loved. Even the thirty-four year-old neckbeard MAN CHILD writing this fails to second guess the Dragon Ball, Star Wars, Power Rangers and Nintendo memorabilia he is surrounded by."
TM: "Please. No more. No more..."
TE: "No!" **slap** "We must face the truth! It is inevitable that Disney will one day buy this franchise as they consume all else. When that fateful day comes, it will no longer be our concern. If we're lucky, we'll be dead by then. In the meantime, we must hold firm! To submit to these....fans....
I absolutely agree with this
The absolute state of it was that for literal years, there were community wars on if GT or Super was the better one and if either one or both serve as proper sequels.
Oof... Dear past Tony. It is now, April 2023. There is still no new Dragon Ball Super anime.

2023 and we aren't getting season 2 but instead Dragonball Magic ..for some reason.
Strange how people want franchises to just constantly feed their endless appetite and go on forever.
How's that strange? If it makes money everyone wins
Well….its 2024, super still hasn’t or seems to be coming back this year, or maybe even next year :(
I think Toei is shelving Dragonball as a property until Oda finally finishes One Piece. The thing is 25 years old and STILL going. My 2 year old will probably graduate highschool before the series ends
2020 ended up being another bad year for Dragon Ball, and there's still no sign of Super's return in 2021. Rip.

Wouldn't the manga be the canon storyline? Toyotaro writes along with Toriyama and he corrects panels for him.
nope toriyama provides cliff notes to him and then he fills in the blanks, same with toei
@@elitezenkai9435 Toriyama has corrected his drawings and has said he follows his guidelines better than Toei.
Both the manga and anime follow Toriyama's notes and each arc ends the same way with many plot points being the same so that you can continue the manga in anime or vice-versa. Both are equally canon. But in general, the version that people consider more canon is the one they were first exposed to, which is the anime for the majority.
@@RexVergstrong proof? I dont doubt he corrects drawings but that doesnt mean its more canon

It's wild watching this almost 4 years later. Yikes.
I'm traveling to this comment section from 2022. Things are gettin weird, dude.

To be fair, the dragon quest anime is not actually based on the toriyamas game designs but the manga designs. So it’s not that close to Dragon Ball.
Wasn't really on the horizon, it was happening everywhere at that point, it was February, not January.

Anyway, have fun with whatever comes next, and yeah the new art style is fantastic
They claimed that they will stick to movies. Probably because the series and manga isn’t very good.
Bleach fans had to wait 8 years just for the anime to come back.
Its so crazy that Toei had all of this going on BEFORE covid and even then they had to delay DBS Super Hero from the leaks
Well it ended up being a movie lol
Bruh, am I the only one who keeps hearing him say “tuper”, instead of “super”, for most of this video? I’ve seen zero comments on this I’m so confused.
He did. Even the captions picked it up!
super two, aka twoper
Tf you mean super hero was bad? That was better than most 3d animated movies I've seen this year
Maan amen to that frieza point he's been around literally since he debut, he doesn't even feel like a villain anymore, or interesting smh

And considering that Super Hero flopped and had terrible marketing it didn't go well heck the entire movie sucked.
