I'm a beginner quilter who is learning how to quilt on my own. These are the best tutorials I have seen so far that takes the edge away from making a quilt (because it can be nerve wracking!) So far all the quilts I've seen in these tutorials look fun and easy to make! I'm currently making this quilt and I'm hoping it comes out as beautiful as Jenny makes it. You ladies are the best!!! Thank you!
I love it so much, I needed a backing for a star quilt, so I used the left over material, and made a 20 inch block of the material left, and made this block I love it so my daughter will have a double sided quilt, Ive only finished 2 blocks so far, thanks so much for your tutorials and thanks to the 3 Dudes
How could anyone not like Jenny Doan and Missouri Star Quilt Company? They have the best easy to follow tutorials and a shop full of all the goodies you need for quilting. Thanks to them I am learning the art of quilting and enjoying it.
I live in Texas, but I attend an annual quilting retreat in Phoenix that is held right across the street from 3 Dudes. They have a GREAT shop. Everyone should go visit their shop and buy lots of stuff. *s* Great guys. Thanks for posting this tutorial. Nice.
I wholeheartedly agree with your comment Kaye. Jenny has shared her knowledge and is always happy go lucky. I think she does a wonderful job with her tutorials. Too many people these days find it easy to complain.Monica
Kaye Ainsworth You shouldn’t pay any attention to these people. They’re just looking to get a rise out of people. The best thing you can do is ignore the idiots.
Watched this 3 times now and still think it's one of the best ideas ever. Just have to get some jelly rolls now! Oh forgot to say - FoQ is the largest quilt show in Europe so if anyone is dropping by for the Olympics, it's well worth a visit! S
Anyone who has anything less than an overwhelming positive response to Jenny’s tutorials must not be a beginner starved for not only “how to quilt” but also for ideas...... I just LOVE this woman!!!
Hi Jenny Thank you for your reply. My squares are all 8 and a quarter inches and so I am happy with that. I love the 3 Dudes block. I learn so much from your wonderful tutorials. Keep up the good work. Toni
Tried this with some scraps and it is fun! It is important that the strips be equal sizes.... does not convert to odd sizes with same effect. The pieces can be arranged as an "X" or with the little boxed peephole. Lots of fun.
Love this one. I made a little girl's baby quilt out of a different fabric and it was so dang fun making the geometric patterns. I bought another roll of the same fabric to make a larger one for myself. I just LOVED this tutorial.
# Dudes Quilt Shop is great!! Very friendly, knowledgeable and supportive to all levels of quilters. They support local appraisers and designers too. Another great idea which will keep me awake tonight as well.
Every morning I come to UA-cam and look for your tutorials. They are fantastic. I am going to a quilting retreat in two months and am going to do one of your methods for making my quilt. I am going to blow everyone's minds by doing my quilt the "Jenny Doan" way. Thanks for working so hard to make these videos for all us quilters. We appreciate you so much!!
Thanks Jenny and tell the guys from AR too, because I had two 20 piece Jelly Rolls that I had gotten for Valentines day, plus some scraps. I am making this one for my niece who is in college. There are four blocks left, so I am going to make her a pillow to match using the four for the front red on the back. This is one of the Quilts in a Day Ms. Eleanor would say:) Really cute!
jennie. you have given me my mojo back. 7 quilts and counting since november. love the tips on utube. cant wait to try the technics ! i think i might be obsessing or just having fun with fabric. love ya
Love the creativity that this block lends us to be!! Jenny---you are truly an inspiration! I have been a "quilt dabbler" for many years but now being more creative! Before seeing this tutorial,..I actually was dabbling with some blocks and made a table runner using this very idea! When I heard about this tutorial and then seeing you craft your magic---well it made me realize that sometimes all it takes is "an idea" and that we are all very inventive when it comes to quilting from the heart!
I watch these tutorials over and over and I to dream of what I will make. I have decided this one should be the next one. Thank you to the Three Dudes and Thank you to Jenny for making it look fun and easy.

Always inspiring. Even ten years ago, this gave me the brilliant idea of what to do with some strip sets I’d made. Looking forward to creating the blocks, now that I’ve laid them all out! Thanks Jenny!
If my little ones weren't sleeping in the next room, I would have squealed with delight!! This is sooooo cool how the blocks come together. I loved the "unveiling" moment when you opened up the squares. I got a jelly roll for my birthday and now I know what to do with it! Thanks for clear, winsome tutorials. Keep it up! :)
