Almost every video i see, the creator mistakes the suit locker for the escape pod. The funny part is, that Olli knees down in front of the bed and has the writing "ESCAPE POD" right in his view. 😂 But at least he noticed the light warning markings for the ramp, which many others just miss.
Now that LEDs are becoming popular on ships, I want Drake to have them, but I want them to very clearly be dollar store window strip lights taped to the hull.
It doesn't do incredibly well in straightforward combat. It is nimble, but it is also lightly shielded for its size, it also has a pretty small weapons capacitor for the pilot
I find it hard to get excited about ships these days, since there's rarely a reason to use most of them - if they even have their gameplay features. But you gotta hand it to them, the design, art, animations, etc just keep getting better and it's already amazing. So much detail. Good job CIG.
Yeah and it only serves to highlight how the previous 80% of ships designed and produced in the last decade have not aged at all well. CIG will forever be chasing their own tail bringing other ships up to the ever moving "gold standard". If they even bother, personally I believe they will cut their losses at some point.
There was also the Eclipse which is much more affordable than the A2, and the Retaliator as well. The Eclipse have 3 size 9 Missiles, and the Retaliator has 4 Size 9 Torpedoes
I know it's not the 'rule of cool,' but i think it would be neat if there was an audio delay between seeing the explosion and hearing it, like it real life depending on how far you are. Also pair that with a visible shockwave!
I 1000% agree. Personally, the delay between sight and sound only makes the sound even cooler-building anticipation, etc. Would love to see it in the game. Although I don’t see bombing being a common gameplay loop anytime soon.
i feel like the A1 needs to be flown like the B1 lancer, fast and low. and it would be cool if you could use smaller bombs so it could carry more. for example the B1b lancer can carry up to 144 GBU-39 small diameter bombs, could you imagine a strafing run on jump town with that many bombs.
Yeah definitely need to be able to swap the big chungui out for a bunch of little ones. Or drop supply "bombs", armor case "bombs", ammo "bombs" etc. Suddenly you have bomber and high speed low drag ground logistics.
Great looking ship, I have one. I have only one really gripe: it's too big for it's size class. This is supposed to be in a competitive category with the Cutlass series, and now the Zeus. The Spirit CL is only 42 SCU, but the Zeus is supposed to be 128 SCU? Now, if the Zeus does end up with 128 I'll love that, the Spirit with only 42 and it being bigger than anything else in it's class size is a bit nuts. The Spirit is nearly the same size as the MSR.
You should see the bomb and missile bays open up when you switch to missile/bomb mode. Same for the top two pilot guns when you toggle power for weapons.
I was kinda: myeah yeah the Spirit I guess it can be nice. But after being in one... OH MY WORD. The C1 will be my daily driver, at least one of them. It's SO NICE. It's superb! I love it! And yes I love those details like the sound from the cupboard opening being the reverse just about from it closing :)
Not just its looks, lighting, detail, I love the sounds too, so adds to the feel of the ship. I'm more interested in the cargo and transport version for my character, so I can't wait for those to be in game purchase.
Also, by the looks of it, the rear turret is also on a track, like the Scoripus. Looks like the normal top mounted position for a 180 view of the top hemisphere, and a position back and below the tail fins to look down and back. Great for observing damage on target from the bombs, or ground strafing. Is also why the tailfin has the fancy split design. So the turret can pass between them to the lower position.
The A1 actually fits all cyclone variants, the PTV and STV and the ROC single seater quite comfy. So it is actually already usable for a lot of stuff mission wise. Dragonfly, nox and quad fit as well.
I"m SO happy the way the C1 turned out! I've been waiting impatiently for a year and CIG did not disappoint. It handles like a much smaller ship, albite at the expense of more shields. It does have an extra 20 units cargo space. I can actually dogfight in it even tho it is a big target.
Those little details. It's not a big deal, but the red light that projects onto the landing pad to show where the door opens is pretty cool. The downside: Two MFD's? It would be nice to have a minimum of three. I soloed VS with the A1. I was surprised.

In the center of the two tail pieces is a chain drive hoist rail, like that of those used in heavy equipment shops; the i-beam along the ceiling with assisted manual chain lift. Looks like it may extend in-between and past the tail pieces. It looks as if the rail is exposed on the inside ceiling of the cargo bay. That's cool!

They need to have targeting pods or tech on the ship that acts like targeting pods on SC ships. Just like the real world A10c targeting pod. Looking at a target with radar and pick a target or surface to target is a must for accurate and enjoyable bombing. I'm sure SC will add those kinds of features in the future but until they do bombers just look awkward to use as intended.
I love that sound and feeling of those bombs, seriously! Makes me wish they made a minor tweak to Talon Shrikes to change out their 24 size 3 missile pods for 12 size 3 bombs. Gods I'd love to watch a squadron of them rain havoc if that were possible...
Good video on the ship, only thing missing is the bomb bay door animation with is kind cool to look at. all the hatches opens like a wave traveling down or up the ship.

Some say this looks like a mini Normandy, but I can't see it. It can fit ground vehicles, so Roc miners can use it as a daily driver. Then it can be used to disrupt Jump Town, and clear out areas with enemies hunting the platinum ticket right now. Targeting is bugged.
I think it's still a shame that speed of sound is not properly implemented. Now you get the shockwave and the flash at exactly the same time. I would personally prefer a bright flash and the shockwave and sound afterwards. Especially with different atmospheric compositions it would be so cool to see the difference in behavior. Something else you should take into account.
Thats a beast. Its like the Happy medium I always wanted because I loved the look of the Hercules, but this almost keeps a similar look, but on a much smaller scale.
Good video, i hope CIG will add cargo floor decking to the A1, the back area could hold 12 to 18 SCU and the hall way between the bombs could hold at least 20 SCU, we might want to haul stuff between bombing runs plus those bombs aren't cheap! Ship should be able to make some of that aUEC back, at least a little :)
You wouldn't be able to get in tho, needs a corridor down the middle. I think the most could keep comfortably is 4 on each side. 8nwoukd be super pushing it.
Make money doing hazardous delivery missions. Bad guys guarding the package you need? Warheads on foreheads! Granted, the bombs cost more than the mission pays, but it's fun, lol!
I don't like the AI variant in particular (I pledged for the C1) but I actually did nerd out with just how GOOD this ship looks. It's soooo sleek. But I never noticed before just how cool that landing gear sounds!!!
and now there is TWO video i wish to see/ find : the interior of the hull C when it expend and retract, and watching the bomb beeing drop inside the A1
I think the initial light front should be much brighter and both the boom and the shockwave should be affected, delayed, and mitigated by air density, temperature, altitude, the speed of sound, etc. I think if it's going to be able to move your ship, it should feel like a real bomb just went off below you and (realistically) the wavefront couldn't catch your ship at any kind of reasonable cruising speed and altitude unless they make that boom a LOT bigger. Also, space sim, and you've got unguided ordinance? "I believe that when me sh** turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet."

When and if components come online, I really do wonder how much it will affect the status of each ship with the community… cuz the spirit looks amazing but if any trespasser comes aboard just slightly…. They instantly can bring your ship to its knees…

Targeting is scuffed on this ship. I tried last night for about 2 hours and could not get it to work. I just wanted to do bunkers in it and blow up the turrets on the way in lol

@GUNNER67akaKelt recall time is about 6 min, and fees to make it about 2 min are about 4k... It won't change the rearm price, but it will change your rearm fees 😉
Those were armour pods not escape pods, the beds double as escape pods judging by the labels below the beds!

I honestly think this is the coolest ship to come out since the Carrack, it just looks so good and so complete I love it!

Sucks hard in combat, paper thin shields, 15 shots per 1 gun via repeaters (so has no DPS basically.)
