Even if they eventually do they’re like, “you never told me about that”, because they refuse to pay attention to us when we’re telling them about that stuff because they have no interest in it at the time. Frustrating!!
Imo, soft start is a huge deal... The touch screen is cool, but I think they're overrated. If anything happens to the screen, you either have to go to the unit itself or you're well and truly screwed. I prefer buttons or switches. That goes for anything, too. Yay I can listen to music on my phone or iPod but I can't skip songs, rewind, even change the volume without taking it out of my pocket to fiddle with the screen. Whereas before, with the iPod that had the wheel, you could feel what you were doing and press the button accordingly without needing to see the screen. Cars are all going the same way with touch screens... But they want us to keep our eyes on the road and not be looking at devices. With it all on the touchscreen you *have* to look to see where you're touching and be sure you're on the right menu. With buttons and dials it was easy to memorize where each button was and feel for the right one without needing to take our eyes off the road. OK, I know I got off track on my rant about touchscreens but it still applies to their situation. It's cool. It is. But, like I said before, overrated. They can't fix it if it breaks. And if the touch screen no longer works they lose access to ANY function. Whereas with buttons, switches or dials they could, most likely, fix the problem themselves and if they couldn't they could still control the other functions with the other separate controls. However, I do understand his excitement over the coolness of it all.

If you are worried about crevice corrosion on the Mantis anchor, you might want to buy new bolts to put it together the next time you use it. Yeah, Congrats on so many jobs well done! Did I miss where the life raft went? Did you put in back where it was originally? And, how do you both look so healthy and glowing and yet you're in the wind and sun and weather and stress and wow, you look amazing! Cheers!
Stainless is vulnerable to cracks, yes, especially where there is little/no oxygen. On the Mantis I would have changed the bolts (Cheap) and got a crack detection kit. In essence it leaves a very visible red line in any crack that can be seen with the naked eye (you still have to look for it!). Much cheaper than a new anchor and it works on any stainless.
The main body parts of you old anchor should be find. I would recommend replacing the bolts out as they are the week point of any takedown anchor system.
It doesn’t matter what they say the proper connection between anchor and swivel is with a shackle. If you try and raise an anchor from either side you will break the swivel, it’s designed to be pulled either from the front or back and that’s why you add the shackle.
You guys will be the next boat building channel curiosity will feel small and then you'll go hey let's build ourselves a new cat specifically like we want it to be or you have already thought about that and placed it on the back burner for another time was nice to see you guys hanging with baz did he sing you many a drunken song

So cute . The moment you two are talking about the s s anchor look back at Nik,s wrap from the anchor and it looks like a tutu on a ballerina around her waist. Oh God, you must be so eager to set sail again. God speed.
Not-Warren is hilarious. Great vlog. Thanks so much.
Excited for you to be back on the soft stuff. A fellow Texan always stuck on the hard.
Welcome back on the water
THose boat movers, so funny, so professional, Another good episode.⛵️
Good thing you kept that Mantus. It’s a better anchor. Replace it with a galvanized version left time.
Quick escape while you can! Us kiwis wish you well & beg you to send help...b4 it's too late. Safe travels xXx
Another great video, as long as the boats antifouled and watertight it's ready.
Sorry to point that changing the BOLTS only seems necessary. The rest of the s/s is so thick, it should not fail.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Marc.
Not with stainless steel. It is subject to something called "work hardening" and can fail catastrophically with no warning. Fun stuff!

It doesn’t matter what they say the proper connection between anchor and swivel is with a shackle. If you try and raise an anchor from either side you will break the swivel, it’s designed to be pulled either from the front or back and that’s why you add the shackle.
Glad to see you 2 back in the water 💪🏾💪🏾👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍👍👍👍🍷🍷🍷🍷🥃🥃🥃🥃🥰🌹⛵⛵⛵
Hey hey hey…some of us ARE interested in the cool little details! Touch screens? AWESOME! Keep sharing the nerdy details Jason :)
Good to see the boat is wet once again.
Its cute how you can tell Jason quite enjoys a high five from his lovely lady.
After eight weeks on the hard, it's time to stop playing with the caulk and get back to sailing. Good Job!
Congratulations on returning to the water. Stay safe and take care. Love from FIJI 🇫🇯.
Outstanding! I remember a few months ago, you had a very long project list. And now... Ta-dah! You're (mostly) through it. :)
