    if i can buy the same silver
    bars and i need the money
    i will sell,
    which really is kind of bad
    with the silver spot so low,
    on the other side of the coin,
    if its a collector type silver round
    or bar i try and save these,
    My lcs don't pay any premium
    over spot anymore

    My Coin Dealer is retiring soon & he is holding on to Gold for his retirement. Guarantee You this Both Coin Dealer will thing Twice when they get Close to retirement. I am not coin dealer anything with Pre-33 Gold or Shipwreck Treasure Gold is worth keeping for your retirement, plus it has Twice is Value. This carry a premium because of their rarity & condition & demand. That’s why I am buying vintage silver to keep for generation & leave it for my retirement & leave it also to my children future. Paper money is still good to have to pay your bills & things you need but Precious Metals is your Saving Account & You Could always trade or Sale when you need IT basically you are in Control of your Precious Metals!!!🥇🥈🥇

    While I love pre 33 and its by far my favorite gold, I have to agree that if I had a million, I would do the bars as well. My rational is that the gold bars would hold its same price anywhere in the world if you were to sell it. Im not convinced if I was to sell pre 33 gold in Eastern, Mid Eastern, African or Asian countries that dealers there would pay anywhere near spot for American coins

    The fractionality alone makes the pre 33 more valuable.

    I take coins over bars because they are easier to authenticate without expensive equipment. If they (gold) are the right size, weight, design details, and ping, and come from someone with a better history than an average joe, chances are overwhelming they are genuine. How do I possibly authenticate a gold bar within it's assay card without a sigma or other xray thing? And also knowing that sigmas and xray machines can too be fooled by fakes. Plus some locales have favorable tax laws for coins that isn't there for generic bars.

    This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE VIDEOS of PMs on UA-cam. You always see other UA-camrs pushing metals and never talking about the downside, or the resale. But Matt gives us the wholesaler perspective which can directly affect us even when selling back to a retailer. This video is full of hard truths and no BS.
    Really appreciate this little podcast and the talks you guys have. Thanks a lot.
    But I would probably do the 32 Saint Gaudens. As a stacker, it would be a little easier to sell for me, AND mainly I could just sell a couple of if I need it vs the whole bar. The fraction-ability is what wins the argument for me.

Andrew has the connections to sell kilo gold bars all day long...don't think Matt would ever be able to sell a kilo gold bar on his auctions. Andrew is correct. If I were to aquire gold at a mil I would definitely trade on Au kilo bars. It's much easier to sell the kilo then pre 33. When you buy a gold bar it is an investment on gold. The pre 33 is has premiums stacked on premiums they are nice but they are below melt. He definitely has a point on moving metals quickly do not hold sell sell sell. Stormy has a point too he sells to the general public which make sense on how he moves.

    You have to make more than $30 gross on the sale of a $2K coin to making it worth your time and effort. You tie up $2K, have to advertise it, package, ship it, receive payment, etc.

    So when Alice Walton bought 500,000 Silver Eagles a year or two ago, she was wrong? She should have bought 1000 oz bars? No. She wanted fractionality in the form of a sovereign coin for future economic decline. If the dollar is dead - or at least in transition - then you need something to pay people to do things for you (if you're rich). Same issue with the Pre-33 vs a kilo bar. Rich people who want to prepare for hard times and might need fractionality, absolutely need something that they can trade with for goods and services. Let's not forget about the numismatic value of Pre-33 as well.

  • @ah5836
    @ah5836 7 місяців тому +2

    when you asked in this conversation what's the difference between a company spending money on advertising versus losing money on a low-priced introductory offer, the difference is the customers now expect lower prices, customers are more willing to wait for the sales and the deals and not just buy bullion where it is price-wise on a random day.

  • @slapdat.byteme
    @slapdat.byteme 7 місяців тому +5

    Whatever you buy, just be prepared that when you (or your heirs) sell it, odds are good that it’ll sell very close to whatever spot is at that point in time. That’s why my gold is primarily in low-premium 1 oz bars.

    • @BayshoreBullion
      @BayshoreBullion 7 місяців тому +1

      If you had to sell them all today right now the only price you would get are wholesale rates. Right now as we speak. Pre33 gold $20 are melt -$35. Gold kilos are melt -$8. Big difference.

    • @jdf8177
      @jdf8177 7 місяців тому

      @BayshoreBullion well I wouldn't sell them to a wholesaler. My lcs pays around Greysheet and marks it up. Graded coins aren't in the same league as bars. I am a collector. Don't need to sell right now. Finite amount of coins made. Not making any more. Pcgs graded coins. Not cleaned au coins

The cool thing is that you are both correct. I'd buy the bullion if I just wanted to make quick money, and I'd buy the coins if I didn't care about the hassle to make slightly more money. I think Andrew's strategy mitigates market volatility and lost opportunity cost. Always impressed by you guys.
