The mud is at a perfect consistency where the police officers with all their heavy equipment will sink into it and get stuck but the wizard can just walk on top of it
I think you just have to have the right shoes and they have to be secured tight. I know why the police officers were struggling so much. It feels like you're gonna lose your shoe if you pull your foot the way you would intuitively feel like it would get free the easiest. So you end up trying to pull your foot out of the mud while simultaneously trying to keep your shoe on, which are two opposite strategies.

Funniest part about the video is that the only reason the place is that muddy is because the police used anti riot water cannons lol, that sure backfired
Unironically, this is educational. Back in the middle ages, sometimes lightly armed troops could beat knights in close combat by luring them into a muddy area and getting the knights stuck under the weight of their own armor, the lightly armed guys being less prone to sinking in the mud. Happened at Agincourt, the English archers were able to get in and stab the French knights with knives. These cops look like the weight of their SWAT gear is making them struggle in the mud.
You say "knives", but they were probably at least daggers, if not short swords. Also, I bet that the archers wore mail, or at least some bulky (if light-ish) gambeson. Your typical knight's armor also wasn't very heavy, and I bet that the weight distribution was better than for SWAT gear. I bet it's mainly that the dismounted knights, walking through the mud and pelted with arrows, would be way more exhausted than the comparatively stationary (and also strong and bulky) archers, that they had to fight.
@@roadent217 Daggers are a type of knife, and gambesons are still far less weighty than plate, even if the weight of plate is lighter than one would think. I agree with you that the knights were probably exhausted from marching through torrents of arrow fire, though.

You are correct. This can be deduced by the wizard walking around freely of course, but the issue is one of footwear. Long story short, you need something that spreads the load so that you don't sink and you are essentially walking in a semi-liquid so you don't want sharp edges. Such police boots do spread the load a bit, but usually they have sharp edges which is bad for walking on mud. But I think the main compounding issue here is the hydrophobic nature of these boots. This is normally great, but when you get stuck inside mud you are causing a vacuum film to exists around your boot which isn't exactly handy as mud can be (and in this case definitely is) very very sticky and will resist suction. Pulling out of a vacuum takes extreme force as you probably know.

Its simple really, Boots and heavy riot gear. I'm a Marine, and when you wear boots and combat gear in muddy environments, you must fight to stay in constant motion. Once mud cakes on your boots, you're done. They stopped moving in the mud, and their feet sank into the mud. What they should've been doing is staying on toes, constantly shuffling feet, and never stopping. Once you do, its like standing in cement. I've had to pull a few Marines and push a few vehicles out of mud because they stop. TLDR: When interacting with mud, maintain constant motion. This goes for driving as well. No speeding or slowing, no sudden movements; normal, controlled movements.
Also you absolutely cannot be afraid to get your body dirty. If they really wanted to get out of there, they could've crawled. Its why you crawl at bootcamp under Concertina wire in mud so thick you're submerged in it
2 things that stick out to me: 1 He is much lighter than they are, he has a robe on and they have full gear and vests on under their uniforms, causing them to sink. 2 Notice his feet when he walks, they are splayed and never go below his waist, while the feet themselves always push outwards when he walks, this causes his feet to not be enveloped in mud when he walks. All in all, very good mud technique for this wizard. 9/10 would trust him to defend my village.
The mud wizard probably has years of experience from North European summer music festivals. Those always end up one of two ways: either it rains nonstop, and people wade around in knee-deep mud all week, or theres a massive drought, so people walk around inhaling increasing amounts of piss-dust as the days pass. Navigating those conditions while simultaneously being absolutely hammered, and completely deaf from the loud music, is something that builds character. So this was prob a leisurely stroll for this guy.
You have to take into account that riot gear is heavy as hell destabilizing your center of balance. Just like the battle on the feast of Saint Crispin where the French knights literally drowned in mud puddles
Seeing that deep mud just answers it all. Bulky and heavy equipment just makes you get stuck and unable to move not to mention the mud wizard able to sustain it is just unbelievable.
I've read that it was a tried and true historical combat strategy, lightly armored units baiting heavily armored knights into muddy areas and then just literally going up and stabbing them
For his entire life, the mud wizard was made fun of by other wizards, "mud is disgusting" said the water wizard, "mud can't damage your enemies" said the fire wizard, "you have no use" said the toilet paper wizard. They all laughed at him. But the mud wizard keept perfecting his magic and now, he is the one laughing at them. He showed the world the true power of mud. And who knows how powerfull he might become in the future...
- The person didn't wear a robe - It wasn't raining - They didn't throw mud at eachother - He wasn't playing with mud He did have a walking stick though... So really the only thing they had to go out of was a walking stick and some muddy festival.
Makes sense why Europeans think American police are aggressive - American police are simply competent at their jobs while European police are baffoons and can't even stop one person with dozens of officers

I love how the wizard gets maced, shrugs it, jogs off, and then comes back to be like "yup, I'm still here. Hi I see you. Yes you maced me". Good shit.
Rewatching this video I realized something. The Mud Wizard has the greatest origin story of all time. When he shows up, he's holding a book of spells. He asks if they're okay, and they clearly aren't. So around the one minute mark, the wizard tries to help them by giving them the book. Ten seconds later they shoo him away. He then tries to give it to them again, when one of the guys is fighting for his life, one of the officers throw away the book of spells. This visibly worries the wizard. He tries to give it to the police officers one last time, only for it to be thrown away again. At that moment, The Mud Wizard decided to use his powers for evil. Up to this point, the wizard believed that if he showed the officers an act of kindness(saving them from the mud), they'd see what the protestors were doing was right. But then the wizard realized that people who throw away help without reason cannot be reasoned with, and activated 5% of his true power.
This was .5% of his true power. He could have summoned waves and sink holes to swallow them entirely...but he has mud in his heart. So he has sympathy for even the police. He doesn't want their children growing up trying to dig for their parents for the rest of their lives.
platoon of soldiers? more like underpaid city cops who were called to a stupid protest. 5 actual soldiers would have this protest over in half an hour and be home in time for dinner
thats actually a thing that happens a lot in Germany, most the time however the police just say it was the protestors using peppersray and beat them up for it
This guy needs to be immortalized in a Magic: The Gathering card. Something like "Mud Wizard of Lützerath", a green & black Legendary Creature with Hexproof and Deathtouch.
Mud wizard 2⃣🟢🟢⚫⚫ 2/4 Legendary creature -- Human Wizard swampwalk, hexproof Whenever Mud Wizard enters the battlefield or attacks, tap target permanent, it doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. 2⃣⚫🟢,↘: tap up to three target creatures. These creatures do not untap during their controller's next untap step
honestly hexproof and deathtouch wouldn't make him truly the mud wizard. I think sacrifice this card tap all non flying creatures (it fits the mud wizard)
The ultimate crowd control support build. The sheer number and variety of debuffs he's inflicting is busted as hell. Stacking speed reduction Reduced attack accuracy Reduced dodge Increased chance to inflict prone All actions can inflict prone
He offered them his scroll containing but a fraction of his knowledge and wisdom but they refused it and threw it away. Never anger the wizard gentlemen
for those who are wondering why he doesn't get stuck on the mud, that's because compared to the police that are probably wearing vest, he's very light and if you watch his feet, he never really stay still for more than 10 sec so his feet never really sinks in the mud deep enough to get stuck.
Similar to the battle of Agincourt where a small number of English archers armed with daggers massacred a much larger force of French knights as the nights got stuck in the mud
The Mud Wizard dancing around them effortlessly while they struggle and even shoving one further into the mud is so funny to me. He's too powerful to be stopped. Bow at his excellence. A god among men
Clearly this is the Mud Wizard’s doing, the Mud Wizard cast this spell, he’s the only one who can safely walk on the mud. Clearly he has full control over the mud in the immediate area.
He went full a 0 dmg full CC build. Most people are not happy with the pure support role so it's rare to see someone that decided to go with build and it's even more impressive to see how he clearly mastered it.

Expect nothing less from a druid
Yeah more surface area = less sinking. Same for snow and ice.
He has mastered the mud. The cops don't stand a chance in hell if they value their lives.

I didn’t even realize it but you’re right that man really is a wizard with how freely he walks over the mud trap
So this was prob a leisurely stroll for this guy.
haha, pretty much had that conversation and conclusion with a couple of friends. happily awaiting the festival season.
But if you have two days of drought be aware that it will rain the last remaining days so the ankle deep dust turns into knee deep mud
man I love festivals
You telling me that this motherfucker *trained* for this?
You have to take into account that riot gear is heavy as hell destabilizing your center of balance. Just like the battle on the feast of Saint Crispin where the French knights literally drowned in mud puddles

A breathtaking tale!
5%? HAHAHAHAHAHA
More like .000005%!
This was .5% of his true power. He could have summoned waves and sink holes to swallow them entirely...but he has mud in his heart. So he has sympathy for even the police. He doesn't want their children growing up trying to dig for their parents for the rest of their lives.
