I was 13 in 1983 the movie has a place in my heart because it reminds me of my youth, a more innocent time, and also a simplier time, we didn have the internet and celllphones!!!
I think the sheer number of young movie stars made "The Outsiders" an outstanding, unforgettable movie! I need to "dig it out" and see it again! I love that movie!
C Thomas Howell ( Ponyboy), Ralph Macchio ( Johnny) and Rob Lowe ( Sodapop) were my three main fave characters in the movie. But really I loved all the Greasers in this fantastic movie. One of the best ever made...
This movie is based on reality from a time when being a teenager was the bomb it depicts reality on every stage of life it was a by all accounts the best movie about people being themselves I myself was only 25 years old.. the movie was absolutely spectacular
I saw this when I was in 10 grade, I thought dally was the coolest thing.this movie and rumble fish were my favorite growing up. Love the warriors also.
Or she's a dude now. Which wouldn't be to shocking considering the current trend with alternate gender identities. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few cast members who identify as cats or dogs now.
The thing about this story is the confusion of being a young man so full of anger but still consumed by innocence that the thought you are going to live forever and nothing can hurt you but still seeing the beauty in everything new
My mother nicknamed me 'ponyboy' from the movie. My best friend, Matias Gonzalez, who is currently serving the army in his home country of Uruguay, I nicknamed him 'johnny' from the movie. I last saw him twelve years ago in 2010, a year later he left the Usa to return to Uruguay to fulfil his dream of serving his country. I hope one day he can return to the states for a visit. We never end our conversations without saying 'I love you' to one another.
Jonny and Ponyboy were my favs, I still watch it with my kids, 'Stay Golden' has always been a saying I live by, and the fact the movie (and book) start and finish with the same lines always stuck in my head, a truly iconic movie, but then the Adventures of Ford Fairlane is also a personal favourite, I mean I can't believe they would hang a Koala, who'd do that. RIP Patrick, the Original Road House still Rocks vs the remake.
I think they all commit to their roles characters and making a good movie they all fit their roles and make an extreme presence on screen my favourite will always be Patrick Swayze and Ralph macchio but they are one in all both credible actors who give their all
I remember that very well, S.E Hinton came to my 6th grade class in Catoosa Oklahoma when they were filming and we got to go watch some of it being filmed in Tulsa and Darry was my favorite.
I love this movie I've seen it probably 50 times. I guess my favorite character was Johnny Ralph macchio's character. And ponyboy Curtis. C Thomas howell
Favorite is ponyboy Curtis he was the youngest but now he looks the oldest c Thomas Howell looks 2o years older than all his cast members. He was my favorite
It's great to hear that Ponyboy Curtis, portrayed by C. Thomas Howell, was your favorite character in the cast! Everyone ages differently, and it's natural for actors to change in appearance over time. Despite any perceived age differences, it's the talent and performance that truly matter. C. Thomas Howell has left a lasting impression with his portrayal of Ponyboy Curtis, and his contributions to the film are appreciated by many fans. It's wonderful that you have fond memories of his performance!
Michelle Myrick also played Gilbert’s (Anthony Edwards) girlfriend in the great “Revenge of The Nerds”!! She also played in “Real Genius”. She’s was such a hottie!!
I was 12 back in 84 bunch a hot guys in this movie i remember ,that was their beginning ..Matt Dillon & Rob Lowe was really Hotty handsome back in their teens & 20s , they was one of my crushes, WTF happened to Leif Garret , he was really handsome back in day ,looks like he f***ked that up over Alcohol & drugs, thats sad ahhh man good ole days & youth was... We all got f*n old!
Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.
In the early eighties , people around me started calling me Pony Boy. I didn't know what they meant by that.. I never saw the movie. HBO eventually featured the movie and I was amazed at the resemblance of me and Pony Boy (CTH) especially when he dyed his hair blond... like looking into a mirror. I've aged better than him, though. lol
I wonder what do you mean by "is living happily"? If this photo is true, Rob Lowe still looks very handsome and beautiful eyes. C. Thomas Howell was a special teen actor.
Love their nicknames. The kids today don’t know how to live like a free spirited kid like back then. Nothing is spontaneous. Anyway, my favorite character is Pony boy, and Johnny, too.
I wanted to watch this with my girl. It was on AMC this morning and she was asleep a while before it started so I got her up to bed and kept drinking my Coors light. I first seen this on regular T.V. late one night In the early 90’s when I was probably 8 years old and then never seen it again until my freshman year in high school when we read it in literature class. The book threw way too many details in that made it lame but it was exactly like the film. We watched it after the film and I loved it. I’m glad I got her into bed because I cried like a baby and I’d have been so embarrassed tonight. I don’t like how AMC cut the film though like the song “story gold” at the end and other things. That’s what make good movies great.
My favorite character is sodapop because I know the actor rob lowe because I saw him when I was playing golf with a friend and I saw rob Lowe at the club
Dallas was the best! I was 12 when this came out, have had a crush on Matt Dillon ever since! All the girls in my class at school liked Rob Lowe, nah, not for me!
Definitely Patrick S..,, no doubt,,, he had something special ,,, he was as good as an actor as Tom cruise just didn’t get the right parts in movies to become Hugely successful…RIP
That sounds like such a wonderful and nostalgic experience. It's amazing how television shows can create such a strong connection and make us feel like we are part of a community. It's heartwarming to hear that these shows were like friends to you, and they hold a special place in your memories. Thank you for sharing your positive sentiment and reflecting on the joy they brought to your life.
Such an amazing movie in so many ways, Francis Ford Coppola did an excellent job in selecting the actors for this amazing movie. I’ve gone to the house 3 times and plan another trip this year. Sadly, til this day, Tulsa is still divided as far as rich and poor, north and south, kind of like in the movie.
Patrick for sure. RIP . Calm ,cool and definitely a leader.
I was 13 in 1983 the movie has a place in my heart because it reminds me of my youth, a more innocent time, and also a simplier time, we didn have the internet and celllphones!!!
Yea sounds better 😭 I wish I was born back then 😭 😢
I was 6 and it’s forever been my favorite movie
i wish i were born back then i wish i were born like in the 60s that way i would be a teenager for when the movie came out
I can't believe Machio was 22. He looks 14.
he still as today looks like 10-15 years younger an his age, he always has been
lucky guy!
Yea
Ponyboys actor was 16 and dallys was 21
I thought johnny was Indian.
My friend says he looked 12 😭
I just can’t believe I’m watching Karate kid, top gun, dirty dancing, Youngblood and mighty ducks all in one movie… iconic movies if you ask me
All the actors in this movie became legends. Great movie!
I think the sheer number of young movie stars made "The Outsiders" an outstanding, unforgettable movie!
I need to "dig it out" and see it again!
I love that movie!
I liked the book
The book was 200 times better than the movie
The book was wayyyy better, movie left out so much things
From reading the book and watching the movie, I fell in love with Pony and Johnny way back when. They still make me cry watching this today.
Same
I read the book too and cried right when I saw the movie. Wept 😭😭
C Thomas Howell ( Ponyboy), Ralph Macchio ( Johnny) and Rob Lowe ( Sodapop) were my three main fave characters in the movie. But really I loved all the Greasers in this fantastic movie. One of the best ever made...
Dallas Winston or Matt Dillon was my man! He still makes my heart skip a beat ❤
Stay gold, Ponyboy...Stay gold...
You know your getting old when Ralph Malchio is 61 !
One of my all time favourite movies. Thank you for this 👍🙏🇮🇪🇮🇪
I love this movie and book plus the cast was awesome too,RIP Patrick Swayze xoxo thanks for sharing this I enjoyed watching it.
Thank you for this heartfelt compilation! The cast is a reminder of their impact and the admiration we have for their work.
very informative......I had no idea Michelle Meyrink was a dude. Props to the make up artists on this movie.
Lol, I caught that as well….
Or she's a dude now. Which wouldn't be to shocking considering the current trend with alternate gender identities. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few cast members who identify as cats or dogs now.
She's not a dude. She never was. The narrator clearly messed this up.
I looked it up. She transitioned. But she transitioned to Zen Buddhism. Regardless of what this video says, she is still a female.
@@113dmg9 Eh, Buddhist, trans, what's the difference... as long as he is happy now I guess. lol
Thanks for info!
I was not even alive in 1983 yet this movie is my favorite 😭
C Thomas Howell has change tremendously in his late 50’s
Father time has not treated him well but to his credit, he didn't go all Hollywood getting plastic surgery.
Natural.
He didn’t get surgery, didn’t color his hair or cut it short and fancy, just accepted it and is happy.
One of my favorite movies ❤
WE'LL DO IT FOR JOHNNY!!
Watching those movies back then makes me miss so much today. My cousin was my best friend back then he loved Pony boy. Memories.....
The thing about this story is the confusion of being a young man so full of anger but still consumed by innocence that the thought you are going to live forever and nothing can hurt you but still seeing the beauty in everything new
Looking back, it's hard to believe that except for Swayze, Macchio was the oldest of all the main cast actors. He looked the youngest.
I was born in 84. This was the first movie (close second is ET) that I remember watching as a lil one
Diane Lane is my favorite. I also loved her in Streets of Fire... she's a couple of weeks older than me.
I like her in Lonesome Dove too. Lorie Darlin ❤❤
When dally shows up at the rumble, awesome. He was messed up about johny man. Johny. What a movie.
I remember that very well, S.E Hinton came to my 6th grade class in Catoosa Oklahoma when they were filming and we got to go watch some of it being filmed in Tulsa and Darry was my favorite.
Bro your lucky

I love this movie I've seen it probably 50 times. I guess my favorite character was Johnny Ralph macchio's character. And ponyboy Curtis. C Thomas howell

Shaving would’ve helped to improve it.
C Thomas Howell makes appearances at the Outsiders house in Tulsa every now and then. He sings great!
R.I.P Patrick Swayze. ❤
Dally, Jonny, Ponyboy
Rest In Peace Patrick the Legend May his soul be in Peace 🙏❤️😔✝️

As a kid in the 80s for some reason i loved 2bit, i thought even then that he represented the carefree, fearless guy i knew id never be growing up

It will always be Dally Winston!!!! All the characters slay tho
C. Thomas looks older than he is, loved them all

C. Thomas Howell. The Hitcher with Rutger Hauer. That's a good one.

Johnny looks so young for being 22
THE THUMBNAIL
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Patrick Swayze sadly passed away on my birthday a year before I was born😩😩😩😩😭😭😭😭😭
What happed to lief Garrett and
c thomas howell?
In the early eighties , people around me started calling me Pony Boy. I didn't know what they meant by that.. I never saw the movie. I wonder what do you mean by "is living happily"?
If this photo is true, Rob Lowe still looks very handsome and beautiful eyes.
C. Thomas Howell was a special teen actor.
Ive never watched this full movie, all great actors
Johnny and Two-bit
Didn’t know Flea was in this movie, from the RHCP.
Where's the dude with the walker that you show? Huh? I really hate click-bait shit, which this sinks to.
It's called clickbait
how come i didnt see these scenes in the movie? were they deleted?
Im reading the book in class and I really like it gonna watch the movie soon
Dallas winston Laugh
Damn Patrick was the oldest Ralph second oldest but looks the youngest
did michelle meyrink transition? The narrator keeps say he instead of she.
ok matt still looks REALLY good ngl
We read the book when I was in 8th grade back in 1970 I think it was.
Lief Garret is not living happily.
Love their nicknames. The kids today don’t know how to live like a free spirited kid like back then. Nothing is spontaneous. Anyway, my favorite character is Pony boy, and Johnny, too.
Back in 1984 this was just pure "Eye Candy" for a little 14 year old girl.
They were saving ponyboy for last for a reason💀💀
Dallas's character was James Dean...
Oh boy this should be nice and depressing! According to this guy if they're alive they must be happy.
I wanted to watch this with my girl. It was on AMC this morning and she was asleep a while before it started so I got her up to bed and kept drinking my Coors light. My favorite character is sodapop because I know the actor rob lowe because I saw him when I was playing golf with a friend and I saw rob Lowe at the club

Definitely Patrick S..,, no doubt,,, he had something special ,,, he was as good as an actor as Tom cruise just didn’t get the right parts in movies to become Hugely successful…RIP
Dally is my favorite character
You lost me at Michelle Meyrink. He played character and he is now living happy? Did you leave a part of story out?
I’m a bit confused about Marcia, was he/she transgender?
Why did the clip say Thomas Howell was dead 😭
tommy howell (pony’s actor) didn’t die, don’t be click baiting as it’s a HUGE no-no
Only one Leo. Bro was almost my bday twin 🦁
ALL OF THE IT WAS THEW LIFE I LIVED WHEN I WAS A KID IN PITTSBURGH EVERYONE OF THEM WAS MY FRIESD I GREW UP WITH!

So dally was the youngest in the gang? Crazy 🤣🤣🤣
