I've seen one American Crow pulling loose crab apples and dropping them down to the waiting family members. I've also seen a family of American Crows try to trick a Red-shouldered Hawk out of its fresh rabbit kill. While other family members were very close and low in a tree, one crow walked right up (brazenly) to the hawk, which was standing and clutching the rabbit. The hawk lunged at the crow, but didn't let go of prey (smart hawk). I read they try to lure the hawk from the prey and the watching crows will fly down and grab the prey. The crows then meet a ways off and eat the prey. I said later when the hawk lunged, that's the fastest and farthest I ever saw a crow jump backwards, haha.
Parrots are way underrated. Goffin’s cockatoos make 3 tools in the wild. A wedge, an awl, and a spoon which need to be used in succession to get the food they like.
I had lunch with an unkindness of ravens at Hearst castle. They seemed intelligent and hungry.

These are great observations. Thank you for sharing!
