At West Yellowstone, next to the wolf exhibit are some cabins that we stayed in last year. There, I met a Raven for the first time. I kept giving him/her pieces of bagels, and we would squak at each other. While I went back inside the cabin to get the last of the bagel, he had left and returned with a shiny blue pebble. He left the lovely gift for me on the deck floor. He watched me pick it up and squaked at me. I squaked in appreciation and gave him more bagel pieces and water. I was sad to leave the most amazing wild bird I had ever met.
Their beaks are impressively strong. I left my big blue water jug on the picnic table while i went for a hike in Organ Pipe National Monument and returned to find the top corners not only pinched in, to but punctured. They're still my favorite birds.
This made me realize I think I’ve only ever seen crows where I live and not ravens, I recognize the crow calls but the ravens sound completely alien to me
I was fortunate to have made the aquaintance of a raven when I lived in Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia. When I would roast a turkey, I left the (raw) neck on my balcony railing and waited for the raven to arrive. It didn't take long. I got a closeup view of that beautiful bird. This went on for several years. When I didn't have turkey neck, he would accept breakfast left-overs. David Dranchuk, now living in The Philippines.
I seldom see ravens here in Northern California, but lots of crows, especially on the coast. But my first encounter with ravens was in Alaska, where curiously there are no crows. I became aware of them because they had a very odd call. There were hundreds of them 0:04 in the interior. ..Thanks for the video. I love that a group of ravens is called an “unkindness” of ravens. I hope to photograph a raven soon.
if you ever make it down to Hearst castle, there are a bunch of ravens that hang out near the eating area. i held court with about 8-10 ravens who sat about 6 feet away from me and fed them french fries which the bolder among them took directly from my hand.

Beautiful animals
Great video! No ravens where I live, unfortunately, but plenty of crows!
There are Ravens at my mother in-laws farm. Around here we have mostly crows and you rarely see Ravens.

I love ravens and don't think they are bad omens. I wish people wouldn't associate these awesome creatures that way
I agree!
