Fun fact: The screen writer of this movie , Guinevere Turner, wrote a first draft of this movie, kinda not taking it seriously but knew she would hammer out the details and make it better in later drafts, submitted her first draft to Uwe to see what he thought and get notes, then went to do like two weeks of press for another movie she had worked on. She came back and asked Uwe what his notes were for the second draft and he was like “oh no we’ve been shooting, your script was perfect, don’t change a thing”… she was horrified at first, but then went and saw the movie and thought it was hilariously bad, so at least she had a sense of humor about it lol

Uwe Boll claimed that Michael Madsen was drunk for the entire shoot in Romania. But Michael Madsen apparently enjoyed himself on that shoot and he adopted a stray dog that he found on set. So more power to him!

About time to you guys roasted an Uwe Bill movie. Laura Bailey the voice actress for Rayne in the games hated this movie and stated she couldn’t get through the first 20 minutes.

I remember when he made a Kickstarter to one of his films and it didn't fund a lot of money. So, he made a UA-cam video where he screamed and cursed at everyone for not giving him enough money for the project.
I rented this from blockbuster, not knowing who Uwe Boll was at the time, and the cashier actually tried to talk me out of renting it.
Ahaha! I rented Alone In The Dark from blockbuster. Unfortunately the cashier didn’t warn me 😂

Wow. How could an actor go from Schindler's List, one of the greatest films ever made, directed by the greatest director ever in Spielberg, to working with Uwe Boll? Like Billy said, he must owe people some money.

@@darthmisogyny3828 omg yes on house of the dead. I actually saw it in theaters and to this day, it's still the most fun I've ever has going to the movies.
Movie was so awful that 15 minutes in, the 20 or so people there started speaking at full volume mocking it and we ended doing an impromptu mystery science theater!
They would have to dedicate an entire month or two of Bad Movie Roasts just to go through his filmography.
I remember seeing this in the theater and as the movie progressed on, some people were yelling this is 'some bullshit' and 'I want a refund!' And the rest of the audience laughed. This movie is horrible. 🤣
I watched this movie from Redbox. An interesting experience to see a cool game to a shitty movie.
The funniest part to me is when they stabbed Michael Madsen to death & he has the most unconcerned & indifferent look on his face as he's getting stabbed!🤣🤣🤣🤣 It's like, "Dude you're getting stabbed by a sword!! At least wince or something!"

I'm always excited for these Bad Movie Roasts, but at the same time, I feel so sorry for you guys that you had to watch an Uwe Boll film. The things you endure for our entertainment.
The fact that we appreciate their willingness to sit through the pain makes it worth it for these guys.
On the bright side Uwe Boll as a person is much worse than the movies. He's an a list asshole.
I wish I could get paid to watch shitty movies with my friends. My friends and I used to do it for free, usually smoking/drinking.

There are so many hilarious and glaring goofs in this movie. Keep your eyes peeled. You’ll see Rolexes, jeans, horrible dummy work, it’s a feast for the eyes lol.
I think I saw this in Iraq and bought it at one of the markets for like $2 when it came out. 15 min into the movie and I wanted my money back.

Ben Kingsley admitted in an interview that he did it half for the money , and half because he wanted to play a vampire. There are glimpses when it looks like he's trying to give a performance , with a little cold ham delivery , then he looks like he's on the verge of bursting into laughter , and in other scenes he just looks bored. You know that Kingsley might have originally been into it, then when he realised most of his scenes were 30 seconds each of him sitting down and then disappearing and the awful props, yeah he realised very quickly what film he was in , and gave as less of a shit as possible. Michael Masden consistently didn't give a shit about the film ,and to get through being in this, he had the right idea ( getting drunk of his arse). Rodriguez and Loken weren't so fortunate , they tried to give a good performance, and it was still awful.
Its been awhile since i heard Martin laugh and it is truly a gift when heard

Kingsley has been quoted as saying he literally just signed up for the film because he wanted to play a vampire role, saying it was a "childish decision." Of course, he attempted to get out of the role, but he'd signed a contract already. So, he literally just read the lines. That's it. Read em.

The only thing I remember about this movie is that Michelle Rodriguez and Kristanna Loken started hitting the sheets together while filming this. Ben Kingsley wore a terrible wig in the movie The Wackness too.

Uwe Boll actually has a decent movie, Rampage, its quite a disturbing movie with some lots of built up tension. Postal movie for better or worse is accurate to the games too.
I was going to comment the same. Out of all his filmography, Rampage was actually pretty good. He may have unintentionally made a passable movie with that one. NOT the sequels lol. But the first one was actually pretty good. Maybe a 7.5 out of 10.
Postal is his first, for me, offensively offensive movie that is terrible but trailer funny but still sucks!

Uwe Boll is a ruddy film director, but I’ll give him this much. Unlike Neil Breen, he does show some degree of improvement over his filmography. Not saying any of his movies are good, but they do get better. If Boll been able to use that loophole another ten or so times, he might’ve actually started helming halfway respectable flicks.
uwe boll knows how to make great moviemakings and has great attention to detail.. even if most of his films suck, only 5 of his films dont suck or blow!

I never thought about creating a list of top ten worst films I have ever seen, until I watched the 2005 Bloodrayne in the theater. I was so repulsed by what utter rubbish that film was, I started keeping a tally of the most godawful pictures I have seen.
When these three are on. Its appointment viewing! So good.

Funny you mention the boxing fights, because Uwe was a wimp even in those matches, infamously only participating against opponents who were well out of their league. He actually forfeited a match when one of the "Nerd's" turned out to be around 6 foot 4 and was a Muay Thai enthusiast and refused to enter the ring. Also worth mentioning is the gore is the only thing that's actually decent. It was done by Olaf Ittenbach, German Splatter extraordinaire who can throw together a bloodbath with a shoestring budget and a few gallons of red food dye. Look up his 1997 film "Premutos" and load up on a few beers if you want an ultra-gory zombie massacre with a bodycount somewhere in the hundreds.
There are TWO versions of BLOODRAYNE: the standard THEATRICAL release & the EXTENDED CUT (look for the red banner across the top of the front cover). If you have a used media outlet (San Diego has BOOK OFF), you can grab yourself a copy of this & other movies, from GREAT to GRATING. ALSO:. Do not hold this against cool actors like Michelle Rodriguez (I've been a fan since GIRLFIGHT) bc working actors have bills to pay, too. "TOUPEE, TOO!" also a suitable title for BLOODRAYNE'S sequel :)
extended cut is the best version even if the over long flashscene of the kills at end before the end scenes are long still great movie!
