It's bugging me that she cut 2 limes and used half from each...
Josh Jones I think that the part where she is marinating the stake might be recorded a day early. You can notice that the background is significantly darker at 1:15, whereby afterwards there are rays of sun. Also, i dont think the beef would become that brown in an hour or so....Damn i over analysed this..... ahhaha
she used 3 halfs
***** exactly!!!
Tommi Miers Use salt to mash up garlic... Brilliant! :D :O
Why do people obsess over things that are not important to the recipe?
As a cook specialised in Mexican food I'm really happy to say that you have totally nailed it!!! Awesome recipe.
Great to hear. Muchisimas gracias Angelo.
wahacatv I'm Mexican, pretty good taco, just one minor detail... the background music is actualy spanish (Spain) not Mexican hahahaha other than that, good taco!
Edgar Gallardo That's ok though, right? We don't only listen to Mexican music, that would be a bit too limited for us.
Angelo Mertens Thanks so much Angelo, that really makes me happy. High praise indeed from a Mexican...xxx
Tommi Miers you have a new fan! Greetings from Belgium!
I'm from Mexico and normally you would find the beef well cooked and chopped into tiny pieces, however, this works just as fine to me! The salsa is actually how we make it in my house (chile serrano instead of chipotle)! We do love lime and aguacate in our tacos! Lovely Tommi! Se ve absolutamente delicioso!
I'm mexican and I can tell you this is a very nice approach to a really mexican taco, nice job! 😋
Love love Tommi! X
Thanks Donal Skehan, I'm going to try this recipe
Glad you liked it
Donal Skehan.
Donal Skehan aw thanks Donal. How the hell are you? xxxx
Tommi Miers Love ya Tommi, greetings from California.
love love donal! x
Where does FoodTube get those amazing cooks from? I literally adore everybody here xxxx
I think she won Masterchef UK a couple of years ago
*****
lol
***** haha, WIN.
Mexican approved! Yumm!
If you're using jalapeño instead of chipotle, you can charr it alongside the tomatoes. Tastes neat.
Agree! She even does the water-oil bath to the tortillas :) i have seen it only in really heavy-duty 4am taco karts here in mexico :D
+Sony Faudoa I know right? the water and oil on the tortillas was 100% accurate to the way they prepare them here
I'm mexican and I can tell you this is the first time I watch a foreigner cooking decent mexican food.
The only thing that I found rare is the type of steak she used and that it looks kind of raw but behind that the salsa and even the tortillas look .. normal xD
You wrote your comment in English, everyone knows an actual Mexican only speaks Spanish, which is why I have to press one for English on most phone calls...
Finally a non-mexican cook that actually makes a real mexican style taco. I mean, this is like a "fancy" version (since you wouldn't find them like this on the streets or some restaurants over here) with some obvious non-mexican takeover like the kinda rare meat or the olive oil but the idea is there and is overall accurate.
Great...!!
Glad to hear you like it. Like you say, it's not always about sticking to traditional recipes. We like to flex it up with our local stylings in Wahaca. Gracias amigo.

Skirt steak is also known as fajita and is commonly used in Mexican cuisine.
Alejandro Garcia I think you may have misunderstood me. With "rare" I meant "undercooked" buddy. I know fajitas... I'm from Mexico, hahaha!
In my opinion, I think fajita is the only red meat that should always be cooked well done
As a Mexican i can approve this, i love this woman and her passion on the real mexican food
looked rly good but i prefer the steak abit more cooked:)
You sir , have failed the test.
looks mouth watering and I love watching someone who clearly loves what they are doing!
I am Mexican and I am telling you that you catch up this recipe like being a Mexican. Congrats.
Also she really gets into it....Bravo.
Thanks to share this wonderful Tacos de Carne a la Plancha, Salsa Molcajeteada y Cebollas Cambray
Perfect Presentation, Thanks so much...
Tommy you are the best .. Inspirational cooking ...I made your recipes and get so popular! Gracias
Im from Mexico and I have to admit these are the better looking tacos out of my country! Congratulations!!! Yummm!!!
Se me hizo "agua la boca". Que manera de elevar los tacos!
Awesome recipe! Looks delishious
Looks fantastic....I will try it!
Loved this
thnxs very good best tacos ever .
Looks
So good!!!!
That was easy!! Thank you, I will definitely try this one out!
It's funny how alot of people seem to complain about the steak. It's a regular medium-rare steak, bet none of you have tasted it. I was like you before but seriously a good medium-rare steak is the best thing ever. tastes SO good. And no it's not dangerous, buy quality meat and the heat will kill all the bacteria.
there is no bacteria inside the meat. thats the reason everyone tells you to cook your meat in a really hot pan
wasn't that kind of what I said?
Tobias Valinski exactly thank you. steak wouldn't have any bacteria INSIDE it because it's a single cut. ground meat is what you have to be cautious about cooking all the way.
It's blue in the center. Not close to medium rare at all
in love with mexican food!💛
OMG! this is awesome! Can't get enough of Tacos.. :)
BEAUTIFUL! And the tacos look great too
Just finished this for our dinner and it was heaven!
I tried this, and it was out of this world! The salsa was divine! Highly recommended!
did you get your hands on chipotle paste or did you just use the one green chilli and fresh jalapenos?
@@lillerosin2915 not yet!
Omg! Food Tube thank you, I have always said what's wrong with this channel about not showing authentic mexican food.....Now this is authentic!! keep these videos coming!!!! You guys showing this kind of mexican food makes me feel proud of the food of my culture.
love her enthusiasm! :) and the tacos are mouthwatering...
looks great
I'm so happy to watch this, Tommi did a great job. This is exactly how we cook in Mexico (people from other regions may do it differently, it's a big country you know.)
Why are people saying she used rare meat? She didn't. I'm mexican and we do use that type of meat, it's called falda de res here (skirt). Geez people need to chill.
they look wonderful, that salsa is a great idea, I love learning while I watch
Yep this is authentic . nice job
very nicely done.thank you for sharing today.
Looks sooo good.
Oh I will! Always love cooking! Ill add it to my recepies.
Brilliant!! mmmm love me some tacos!!
I'm Mexican and can attest to the (almost complete) faithfulness of the recipe. The salsa's missing some salt, though. Especially loved her using a mortar and pestle, It IS the traditional way of doing it! The rest of the recipe is absolutely spot on. (sprinkling water onto tortillas is a very good way of softening them a bit more when needed) Way to go!
I tried this. It's absolutely delicious! Well done Ms. Miers.
Mexican food are so DELICIOUS I love it
You nailed it with the salsa!. congrats!!
Comprobado... bien ricos !!
They look delicious !!
Good work!!
Thank you, Tommi, great video!
Well done Tommi! What is simple and delicious recipe. Making this tonight.
I literally just made this and it was AMAZING! The salsa with the charred tomatoes is A+. Yummmmmmm!
making this tonight !!!
Those tacos look so good
That like the softest lime I have ever seen
I know, they are well hard to squeeze normally
You need to roll the lemon first before you use it, pops up all the capsules of the lemon or lime.
you need to visit Mexico and u will find tons of it
You my friend have a antique real Mexican soul this is the way real Mexicans cook back in Mexico! Let me tell you this recipes some Mexicans can imitate but many don't have the passion to cook and they don't come out good! You have the passion and love to cook that makes a difference ! Kudos keep it going! :)
So good
Great video! Loved that pepper grinder.

As a mexican living in Germany I can say these are the tacos that most remind me of home. Definitely trying them this weekend :D
Tommi, Love the dry roasting idea, that would add a tremendous amount of flavor. The steak looked so juicy and delicious. And the tacos.....oh my! Really enjoyed your vid. :)
Nice dish!
Looks lovely!
You remind me of my mom when she cooked for me. Definitely going to make this.

hi tommi, your salsa looks awesome. just wondering if I can make a huge batch of it and keep it in the fridge. if so, how long can it last in the fridge without spoiling? also, can I freeze it? thanks
That looks incredible! And that salsa, wow, definitely making that as soon as possible!
***** It was absolutely delicious! Can't wait for more recipes from Tommi!
This looks really good to me.

They look fantastic! Flank cooked to perfection! Will be giving these a go...if my butcher is willing to part with his flank steaks of course!!
My mouth is watering
OMG I want this so badly!
This is the first time I've seen a foreigner make (what it looks like) good tacos. I've never eaten tacos with skirt steak but I'm willing to try it, it looks delicious. But the best part was the salsa, I wish I could give you a prize on authenticity for it, kudos.
More of Tommi!
Amazing! Definitely favoriting this recipe. I love Mexican cuisine so much. Thank you for the awesome recipe =D.
Agree!
Soy mexicana y se ve delicioso!!!
As a proud mexican, I can say, the chipotle was a great touch, I love chipotle, and I do agree, this is pretty much a fancy taco, but in spirit it definitely is an authentic mexican taco, you can also char the onions, and add a bit of beer to turn the sauce into a drunken salsa, or "salsa borracha", it's great to see finally someone who totally nails a mexican taco, congratulations Tommi!
A real Mexican would never eat carne asada THAT rare hahaha. But still a good take on Mexican-food-for-English people
I Love that pepper mill.
Watched this before work. Now I'm gonna want steak tacos the entire day.
That's a neat idea charring the tomatoes in the salsa - looks nice. I'll have to try to try that myself one day.
This is great! That salsa :D Just like how my grandmothers made it!
I am Mexican and this is an excellent recipe.
BEST SALSA EVER!!!! even if you aren't about that taco life, just go for the salsa!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sooooo good mann\
