It hasn't been proven yet but it's implied that the orphan soul inside Huggy was scared and wanted to return to a familiar location, presumably his foster home at the end of "restricted disappearance". Looking back at the video, I kinda see this as being a fight or flight scenario for Huggy. At the beginning, he was in flight mode: focused more on escaping and didn't attack the staff that saw him run. But after getting shot in the leg with a tranquilizer dart, feeling threatened, he entered fight mode: killing most of the security team that continued searching for him on foot. For Prototype, I see him as the type of evil villain who quietly studies his enemy from afar, learning everything about them until the time finally comes when they must meet face to face

I think the reason why the toys didn't leave the factory is because they aren't humans anymore. Their monsters now, and if anyone saw them they would call the authorities and have them terminated. The prototype couldn't risk that, so that's why the toys didn't leave.
I agree and after seeing the slaughter of the workers who didn’t know what was actually going in the factory and were innocent the prototype could let them leave otherwise the toys would just be slaughtering people who are innocent civilians just like Huggy Wuggy who knew that people who on the upper floor of the factory innocent but he didn’t care he was just killing to kill just as it was mentioned in the VHS tape
I don't think that this ,,Monsters'' should be called ,,Monsters''. In my opinion, I think they should rather called ,,Prisoners'', because despite that the factory is abandoned, they can't leave factory, because they could be hunted by authorities like @user-pz3se3fq2y over wrote and they are still suffering in their new bodies. I think the real ,,Monsters'' are the people who had their blood dirty hands in the ,,Bigger Body Experiments''.

I have a theory:
The prototype is getting sweet revenge on us. He doesn’t just want to kill us, but make us suffer. But also, I have a realization: all the toys we’ve battled so far have been playing with us. I remember from the chapter 1 trailer saying “you’ve played with toys, now it’s their turn to play with you”
That very interesting catch on that quote I've been thinking we've been Roleplaying as Rich from the VHS tapes but what if it's Setella Greyber? She did say in that VHS tape in CH 1 that she wanted to work for Playtime Co. because she enjoyed playing toys and getting transported to another world right from her bedroom.
Just caught this on TV tropes: "Greyber" means "digger of graves" in German. Stella was one of the company's most trusted employees as the Head of Playcare, which means she took part in the death of many employees and orphans. Says a lot with so little about that woman.

Why are the toys still in the factory?
The reason is obvious: where would they go? The factory is the only home they've ever known. They might remember their homes from when they were humans, but they can't go there. If people see them then there would be mass hysteria. The toys would end up locked in cages again. They might even get killed. That's likely why they killed everyone in the factory. They didn't want any witnesses. Staying in the factory is their best bet. They can't leave the factory, but at least they don't have people experimenting on them. There are lyrics from Poppy's "Sleep Well" video that perfectly describe the situation. "Living in shadows isn't much, but it's better than living in a cage."

I love how the prototype is basically (for now) just a hand. Makes sense, since the game is technically about hands grabbing toys, so he's a good antagonist

I mostly think that the Prototype is just rebuilding himself with the bigger toys we've killed, so when we do get to him, he'll definitely be a lot stronger (and creepier) than before, thanks to the bodies we've killed for him.
And tying this with the theory of the Prototype being Ludwig & Poppy's identity being Ludwig's late daughter; the Prototype is waiting for us to take Poppy to him.
He could have got Poppy when Mommy took her. Mommy was def under Prototype’s orders and she also knew him. Ain’t no way Mommy did not work under Prototype he has the control over everyone in the Playcare

9:13 or perhaps another reason the toys haven’t been able to leave yet is because for toys to leave the factory it would somehow require a human’s assistance? They could have implemented this safety protocol since Huggy’s escape in 1992. We’ve been introduced the mechanic of needing to scan a toy before we leave a room in both chapters 1 & 2, perhaps to exit the factory you’d need to scan a living human? It would explain why the Prototype needed Theodore’s help to escape when he himself was already highly capable. Just a thought
Personal theory that the Prototype hasn't killed us yet because he has an image with the other toys. He's acting almost like a general and picking up the pieces of his soldiers who he sends to the front lines.
Some toys like CatNap are very loyal to him while others like Miss Delight and the mini critters follow his orders out of fear. So its easier to have someone you know is capable kill off your subordinates and just so happen to use the fallen pieces for yourself than to kill and take the body by your own hands.
Yes being cruel gives you power but of you're too cruel your forces can prise against you. The Prototype is smart and strategic.
If we are a human and ex employee than he can take his failed and fallen soldiers to use against us once and for all. Though I do agree he's toying/torturing the player.

I feel like the Prototype has to be pulling the strings in some way here because otherwise why doesn't Huggy just attack us the second we get close at the very start of chapter 1? What exactly was stopping Huggy from just leaning down and biting our head off, since we know that he and the other toys were pretty much starving to death.
Either Poppy's full of shit, the Prototype is baiting us, or both. But either way, between our return to the facility and our encounters with all of the toys resulting in their deaths, I definitely think we're being baited or set up in some way.
I think I have a solid answer for this (*TLDR at the bottom*). It's been hinted that the children were never killed, but rather hidden away after the Hour of Joy. The question is where? Well they needed to be put somewhere secure, and what area is connected to Playcare, protected by a vault, covered in the Red Smoke, guarded by the Prototype's most loyal follower, and home of the Prototype himself? The laboratory.
We now have established where, but why would they be put down there? The answer is quite simple, it was to protect them from the massacre, obviously, but then we run into a problem, why keep them there? It seems to be a bit more complicated.
Let's look at Ms. Delight first, she killed and cannibalized the other teachers and is said to have a "hunger," one she cannot control. After being released from the schoolhouse, she said that Cat Nap probably kept her in there so that she and the other teachers wouldn't eat the kids. We can tell that before the hour of joy there were MANY more living toys, such as the rest of the Smiling Critters and many more smaller toys strewn about the factory (they were most likely alive as they have blood near them). We can assume that every toy had this uncontrollable hunger, a hunger strong enough to force them to cannibalize one another.
If the Prototype decided to let the kids out immediately after the Hour of Joy, the more numerous toys could not have resisted that hunger and would have attacked and killed the kids. The Prototype freed the children from Playtime only to trap them all over again. He had to wait for the toys to kill each other so he could set the children free without threat. He had Cat Nap trap the teachers in the school house to whittle down their numbers, create a cult and keep them fed so they wouldn't go looking for the children, and at the same time whittle down the numbers of those toys (such as Dog Day) by calling them "heretics" and eating the bigger ones, keeping the smaller ones content and killing the bigger threats.
But it's too slow, the children are running our of food. They haven't even killed all the toys in Playcare. So they had to get creative, they sent the player and undoubtedly other former employees letters telling them to come back (there's no way Poppy herself sent a letter from a glass box). They come back, they die at the start, until we arrive. We kill Huggy, we kill Mommy, and soon arrive at Playcare and kill Ms. Delight, Dog Day, and Cat Nap (sort of). We're speeding up the Prototype's plan, killing other toys and making himself strong enough to protect the other children by taking other toy's parts. He doesn't kill us because he WANTS us to find him. Cat Nap didn't kill us because he was under orders not to, he only wanted to test us. When we beat him, Cat Nap had no more reason to live, so he sacrificed himself to give more power to the Prototype and take out another threat that might attack the kids
*TLDR*
We weren't killed because the Prototype needed us to kill the bigger toys to make it safe for the kids to leave, as well as make him stronger so he could protect the kids
I actually really like this theory

What I want to know is what does Poppy expect to happen once everything is done? Her, Kissy, and all the other toys that follow her can't exactly walk out the factory and have a good life. They are doomed to be in the factory for who knows how long the only difference is they don't have to worry about being killed by Catnap and the Prototype but they do have to worry about starving to death.
What will she do to the player? Will she help us escape the factory? Or will she have us killed? The player never questions her nor thinks about leaving and what will happen to him at the end.
I don't want to think this is a one way trip and that she is going to trap or kill us once this is over but that is a huge possibility.
She’ll either let us leave, be done with us and abandon us or maybe kill us, or she’ll force us to “rule” the toys with her since we are her “angel”.
Tbh I could totally see the cast of toys having some bizarro epilogue where they end up really weird cryptids in the mountains. Kissy Missy’s all mossy and shit now and expertly harpoons salmon with her incredibly long arms before delicately picking them clean with her needle teeth, Poppy’s got an eyepatch and a witchy ass outfit, the smiling critters are barely recognisable and just encrusted with dirt, and Huggy’s fully just a freaky old yeti in the snow. occasionally you just hear a crashing cymbal on the wind

again the hallucination are CaNap doing since he can manipulate what people see and hear so the "Your presence was demanded 10 years ago and it didn't show up 8/8/1995. you were supposed to be here. Why weren't you here? You missed the event! You missed the meeting! You missed the party!" for me it was CatNap saying that through the radio especially the part where it says "I find your presence intrusive. After all this time, you return. You come in here and you kill and murder, you pulverize and destroy"

well, theres no way for catnap himself to actually control what a person hallucinates upon inhaling the gas. the only thing he controls about the gas is just when its used and how much of it is used. yes the hallucinations caused by the red smoke are violent, but there are types of gases/smokes irl that can make you hallucinate somewhat specific things simply by having chemicals in them that activate or dull certain parts of your brain. an individual's hallucination, such as the players, is unique to them. personal. it still comes from their brain, but the red smoke basically tells the brain "this is going to be a violent and vivid hallucination".

I think its because the prototype have an army like huggy,catnap and more.. if the prototype killed them him selves the other toys might think the prototype is the enemy so he tells them to toy around and try to kill the player, after we killed the toys he would collect it and build himself and the other new upcoming toys might think the player killed it so they wait for the prototype command

I feel like he has the same reson poppy does, the prototype probably didn't know we were there in chapter 1, in chapter 2 he watched us kill mommy sometthing that he probably has been trying to do for years, and we do it in one day, so hes probably keeping us alive so that way we can kill more toys for him.
This is a real stretch but I think it worth bringing up. What if the player isn’t human at all, but a toy that’s meant to mimic a human and was so lifelike that all the toys mistake us for a human EXCEPT the Prototype. This would explain the protagonist surviving and/or escaping the hour of joy and being called back by the Prototype. Just something to think about

my idea is simple:
the prototype wakes up on a saturday and they see the player, now it wants a grab pack too.
so its waiting for the player to actually be off guard to take it, but they're almost never off guard because
1: who would be off guard in an abandoned toy factory
2: being chased all the time makes someone always on edge

I think of it like this, We are doing his dirty work him. In chapter 2 mommy says, “you’ll make me apart of him!” The prototype uses other toys (big and small) to make a bigger body. He sends these toys after us KNOWING we will kill them so he can make a bigger, better body. When we have killed every single toy he will come down and finally finish the job himself.
My thing is how did DogDay know that we were "Poppy's Angel" unless catnap and the prototype confronted him about us before they ripped off his legs upon our arrival to play care(which seems unlikely)... or if Poppy visited him while were busy before she popped up in front us. she makes no mention of him at all to us so how would he know we were connected to her considering we don't even speak?
Ollie must have told him before he was captured or another toy did.

My daughter noticed how short the player is last week - and she was right with how short we are. Walk your character up to a desk and see where your head lines up. It's nearly child-size - like a giant stuffed toy's size. We know the player doesn't wake workable hands. We've never seen the hands once ever at any time. Just like all the other toys, it would be impossible for us to do anything without that grab pack. It would be easy to slide your arms into the pack and use the little nubs of the stuffed animal's hands to squeeze the trigger -- but I can't think of anything else little stubby hands can do other than that.
I wonder if we're the person who lives in that house and Huggy came for us? I mean, how else did they have the address to send the information to us? I wonder if we're the person in the video that says, " I'm not worried about me, though - one more breakthrough and I'll be ba-". What if we had that breakthrough, and now the Prototype wants it?

I think the prototype is Ludwig and is the good guy in all this, and he’s in the depths of the factory working on some technology to either free the orphans or reverse the bigger body stuff or something. Ollie is the scientist who came up with the bigger body initiative, and he wants to get down to Ludwig to stop him. He brainwashed Poppy into believing what she told us, so they’re using us to get down there. Ludwig is sending his monsters as deterrents rather than ideally to kill us, which is why we see them stalking us for a while, and Catnap even telling us to leave. He doesn’t want us dead, he just doesn’t want us leading poppy and Ollie to him
I agreed because Ludwig had a child of his on and built poppy playtime in remembrance of his child after she died
Ollie is pretty clearly a kid so not sure about that.

Also don’t forget that Sawyer was learning about there prototype’s mimic ability. If he cracked that, he could be mimicking the voice of a kid and pretending to be Ollie
No the only thing in the poppy playtime universe that can change it's voice is the prototype and I don't think the doctor was a child. Also if that isn't obvious enough Elliot isn't a good person in MANY ways being involved with the terrible fate of the smiling critters which were also kids and obviously the hour of joy were most people didn't deserve to die. I also think being transformed into the prototype he has erased most of his memory which is the reason why he is different as the prototype.

Sawyer was studying the prototype. Trying to work out how he functioned. If he found out how the mimic ability worked, he could copy it from the prototype. Also the things you’ve accused Ludwig of are hinted at but not confirmed. He could easily be being framed. He built an orphanage due to his love of children, he has been protecting the children at all costs since the hour of joy, he attacked evil scientists who were killing children. He really doesn’t have to be the villain in this

Still can be crafty because I believe dog day said at first they were with the hour of joy but after they didn't follow his religion and they tried to fight back, which means if somehow crafty corn knew the player then when they were losing could have sent the letter as distress in hope the player would get there in time to help

I am glad you brought up the "death screens," as I always thought that perhaps the character you are playing as was either a Bigger Bodies experiment or an employee brought back from the dead using the poppy flowers (hence Miss Delight's confusion); and, that this was all a part of the prototype's grand scheme, to gather all the parts from the other toys, only to finish you off and take your "immortality" at the end of the series.

I think the Prototype wants us alive to use us similarly like Poppy. Although I don’t know what. I think this because he had two chances to kill us and didn’t take it, technically he saved us from CatNap too. He could have easily killed us in that room with Mommy Long Legs since there was nowhere to run, for CatNap we were literally on the floor and CatNap might’ve just killed us after a bit, but instead he conveniently appears and kills CatNap, then just leaves us on the floor. It’s a bit strange, it’s almost like he wants us alive? This theory is also boosted if Ollie is the Prototype, since he’s helping us the entire chapter and knows where we are at all times, it’s almost like he knew we were fighting CatNap because he was watching us, huh? Also the fact we’re his BIGGEST enemy, we killed 4 toys, and are set on killing him, why keep your biggest threat alive?
i personally believe that prototype isnt the villain at all but poppy is due to the fact that the toys dont attack the player up until poppy joins him meaning poppy could secretly be using us manipulating us into helping her while the truth is that the prototype isnt a villain but poppy is

-the prototype promised all the toys before the hour of joy that they will get the "freedom" they're carving all this years in their toy-body form, they thought they will get out from the factory and live outside..but maybe the prototype have another perspective of that...when the prototype after the hour of joy found out that the "player" did not arrive nor died there he got upset (because in the hallucination we can hear him in one of the radios and seems annoyed and repletely saying "you were suppose to be there"), so he decided how he will free all the toys including himself with them by a plan (because he know that the toys can't live normally with humans and probably they will get caught and get experiment on again and ofc the prototype DOES NOT WANT THAT TO HAPPEN) .. as mommy said in her death moment that "you will make me part of him" she could say that "my body will be part of him" but she said it as if her SOUL will also be a part of the prototype mind..which means that somehow when the toys die and the prototype take their body their soul got combine with the prototype. so since the end of the hour of joy he waited for all the toys to die so he can take their body and combine them to his, and when all the small toys completely died he then knew that it's the time for the player to come, he somehow send the message for the player to came, but why?...simply to kill all the bigger bodies toys (as they can deal with hunger and could not die that Easly), and after all of them are dead, he can take the players body and inhale himself with the toys souls with him to control the player's body. (as same as FNaF:SL)

My theory: As we know poppy was daughter of elliot Ludwig and when she died she was turend into a doll thats when Ludwig got mad and when he offended the scientist who have done this they turned him into the prototype thats why Ludwig(prototype) doesn't kill poppy and sealed her because Ludwig killed everyone and poppy wanted to take revenge but Ludwig loved her and We as a employee who loved childrens like Ludwig helped Ludwig to take revenge and make hour of joy happen (we were absent that time) and when catnap tried to killed us and prototype saw us he killled him(catnap) because we helped prototype and same happened with mommy long legs as she stole poppy and tried to kill Us but huggy wuggy didn't killed us and didn't do anything to poppy basically we are back here to see what is going on there thats why we see guilt haunts you in hallucinations and I think all kids are safe with prototype and dog day was cutted half because he helped poppy and tried to offend us but didn't killed him as he was a kid to and leader of smiling clitters 😅😮

I watched a video of project playtime monster tutorial..It seems like the prototype instructs the monsters and uses the word 'Get Up'. The player also hears the word 'Get Up' during the hallucination..So it seems like the Prototype communicates with the player too.During the final vhs tape 1006 mimics the scientist voice and says i learn something new about you everyday....That dialogue seems to reflect like The Prototype learns about the player too..That is why he has not killed the player.I think the player is a staff who was part of initiating the hour of joy but he felt guilty to turn against the employees who are humans and taking side to the monsters.So, maybe the prototype analyses us and tries to turn us into a toy and make us stick to him..All kind of theories makes sense between us and 1006..but poppy why poppy wants to kill the prototype when he helps the toys who are basically children being transformed..I feel like there could be a war of leadership between 1006 and poppy...
I think the real reason is that Poppy is the real villian and has been manipulating you this entire time. The only reason the monsters want to kill you is because they think your working with her and she provoked them into attack you.
Im started think its neither of poppy or prototype. instead those two its my boy OLLIE.. Imagine if ollie is mastermind and played his hand well to get poppy and prototype go against each other. If theory is right and ollie is security system or somekinda similar he could easy be mastermind of hour of joy. Cause easy way contact all toys in factory. Remember also hour of joy there was warning about toys rebellion in tv, but someone change text "open doors" and do i remember right when they moved kissy missy there was also changed some instruction about moving her.

Tho 100% sure ollie is third person and he is main villain story. this lean hard he is actually security system who see and heard almoust everything what happen in factory. It would also explain why huggy become hostile when you get near poppy. Huggy was from start create being guard of lobby, so ofc he would listen most head of security(ollie).

Catnap might have misunderstood the Prototype and did heinous acts in his name and wanted to put an end all the evil acts. The Prototype may be using you to get rid of all the Toys that are hostile so that the people on the surface are safe.
Playcare I thought was Catnap telling the Player to leave.
We do get some evidence from a song that’s called sleep well of chapter 3 I found out that the toys are alive still in the bodies and they’re working for the prototype. Poppy has a lot of information but we never get information how she was created. Something has to do with the prototype the prototype can also be using us like you said, but the most important thing we might need is probably Poppy she has a lot of information but we still don’t know how she created
I've had this theory where I think that the prototype wants us to do his handy work in killing the monsters he puts in our way to build himself back together, and I think he'll put something in the way for chapter 4 aswell

I agree with you. I also think that he's after poppy, knowing that she has access to the whole factory, and the company emphasized her as one of the most popular and important toys. Kissy was a close companion to us and poppy, and kissy was crucial for poppy's movability - given that she is a doll with tiny-ass legs. Something or someone who might have been linked to the prototype might have kidnapped or attacked kissy while we were descending to the labs in the elevator.
i dont think he wants to kill us. i think he wants to get us to destroy the toys because it cant and it wants us to defeat them then he'll help us escape
i always been wondering this to it had a lot of chances to do that maybe it wants to meet and talk to the player at some point in the future chapters thats just how i feel but it still might kill the player upon meeting it

The Prototype knows that Poppy hates him and did not try to convince her to change her mind. Poppy may be the only 1 who is at war against 1006, when the others went against CatNap that treated the mechanical claw like a God. And they got killed. And the others went insane: Miss Delight, Mommy LongLegs etc

Just had a thought, every one takes the note as one thought when we shouldn’t be. It states everyone thinks the staff disappeared 10 years ago then there’s a pause. We’re still here, that “We’re still here” isn’t referring to the staff or the kids it’s simply referring to the toys the toys the player character knew about all along as he was a part of the BBI staff that’s why he shows up he musta thought everyone was dead but getting that note he wants to end the torture once and for all and put these kids to rest once and for all. Interesting breakdown of all of this. I too feel that Craftycorn is the one who drew the flower and wrote the letter. If it wasn't her who wrote the letter it was definitely the Prototype. I also think that the character we're playing is none other than the Jeark with a heart of gold Rich. He has appeared in all three VHS tapes with one in each chapter.
The prototype tricks, all of the toys and gathers them off like cat nap, and then makes a entire body for himself, because he only has a head and torso so he’s gathering up toys to become more powerful.
Huggy wuggy and kissy missy do talk in chapter 2 and 3 huggy had voice lines in chapter 2 kissy had voice lines so they do speak

I have a really big thought that the player is a bigger body but he is the yellow mannequin. The yellow mannequin cannot speak but if you look in project playtime we are able to revive ourselves when we’re down.

I think that the prototype hasn't killed the player because as you mentioned that the prototype may be very small is size, so it is impossible for him to become most powerful creature. So he uses the parts of other toys to make himself bigger. But he can take the parts only when the toys are dead. So he intentionally sends the toys to fight with us and he also helps us kill the toys my mimicking Ollie's voice and makes us defeat the toys.. and then he takes up the dead toys and attach their parts to his body making himself bigger and bigger.
the mc bigger body theory has a couple of strings attached to it, actually. It might have been implied that the mc was an orphan at some point, as seen in the hallucination sequence we get. They might have been experimented on themself and gained the ability to create the regenerative smoke, and only stopped being experimented on after they volunteered to help the scientists. This is totally a stretch, but it’s fun to consider
I do not agree that the toys (at least not those in chapter 3) were trying to prolong the players torture cuz both Miss Delight and CatNap gives them the opportunity/warning to get out before they get into it Miss Delight says and I quote “You should leave…. For your own safety….” And CatNap “Leave Playcare or I’am coming for you”

My theory about the "Get Up" Messages: the monsters in this factory spare the player because they have bodies hidden from the critters so that they cant be fed if they do something. And when the monster jumpscares the player it could be that the player never seen someone that terrifying and just randomly passes out, (i think) Each Monster he meet is more scarier than the other player killed, infact when the messages come up it could be the monsters acutally speaking to us but never speaks when we run away.

Tbh I could totally see the cast of toys having some bizarro epilogue where they end up really weird cryptids in the mountains. Kissy Missy’s all mossy and shit now and expertly harpoons salmon with her incredibly long arms before delicately picking them clean with her needle teeth, Poppy’s got an eyepatch and a witchy ass outfit, the smiling critters are barely recognisable and just encrusted with dirt, and Huggy’s fully just a freaky old yeti in the snow.

I think that something happened to the prototype at the hour of joy, so he doesn't have enough power to kill the other toys for their body parts, so he is using us because like you said he somehow knows we have a lot of potential. Moreover, in one of the tapes, it said that the prototype hid in one of the camera blind spots, so maybe he is just weak in general and can't kill the other toys for their body parts, so he is using us.

i hope the prototype somehow finds a way to revive everyone we killed i think that's why he's taking them so that when he gets the revive ability he can put us through our biggest nightmare (aka having a final rematch with everyone we've faced in the game)
