I think what happened to Theo is what inspired The Prototype to bring about the Hour of Joy. He was going to escape with Theo, implying that all he wanted was to leave. But after Theo got gravely injured, not only was the only person we know for sure was his friend/ally gone, but his only hope for escape was gone too. But Theo came back, as Catnap. I think he realized then that he could use the other toys to his advantage, and to vent his hatred of the workers, thus, the Hour of Joy happened
There's a possibility that the only involvement we have with the hour of joy is that the protagonists knew what was going to happen and just left his coworkers for dead. Protagonist may have been in a "middle management" position to know some of the secret stuff and what happens to whistle-blowers, so keeping quiet and leaving the coworkers to their fate. This is why we're recognizable to the toys and poppy saying we didn't do anything wrong at the same time, and the hallucination in home sweet home mention our sense of guilt.

Here's my stupid head cannon: Protagonist we play as was the first HUMAN they experimented with the poppy gel that they didn't make into a toy. I think they didn't turn protag into a toy bc it was the first test run to see if poppy gel could revive someone. This could be why we don't see the death screen sentences when the protag "dies" to the gas, it only makes them pass out when any normal person it would stop the heart and lungs like an OD of anesthesia. Could be why we revive over and over too.
I like this theory, like In chapter 2 there is a note that says "I still believe in the potential of the poppy flower. Its unusual properties lead me to believe that the proper mixture and procedure could have life altering properties. We are that larger test subject, an employee that was tested on with this poppy gel, that is why In Chapter 3, the unknown reverse voice says "1995, you were supposed to be here. It's like the prototype saying that we should have been to the hour of joy and helped kill the company staff because we where also one of the experiments. People have theorised that 'the player' are either a toy experiment that escaped or a ex-employee that left the company before the hour of joy, but maybe we are both but not as a toy, and we came back to playtime co guilty but not for testing on people and children but for leaving the other experiments behind. Some of this might be right or wrong idk.

Think about this, what if a scientist told you that you could save millions of lives by participating in this research only to find out afterward they used the information they gathered from that test to torture children and silence adults? Number two, if we are an experiment that wasn't turned into a toy, the prototype wants him to come back to be destroyed as the protag would be living proof that those experiments worked and he can't have any of the research outside the walls of that building or run the risk of someone else attempting these same experiments and causing more deaths and harm. Not to mention from the perspective of the toys, they probably hate him just for being able to stay human, why were they, innocent beings, stripped of their autonomy, turned into the company's playthings and held in the factory against their will while this guy not only gets to keep being human but he also gets to go free, abandoning the other experiments and getting to live his life while they rot in the factory and left to the will of the prototype.
I also think the Protagonist is some kind of humanoid Experiment and that's why the Prototyp sad He should have been there. The Protagonist helped to start the hours of Joy and then once it got started Backed Out. Either way Experiment or not the Protagonist is 100% involved in some kind in the hours of Joy or the planning and got could feet and Ran away
I think the Prototype takes on the personalities of the toys he adds to himself, and the different death screens are the voices of different toys speaking through him, similar to the mimicking trick we heard him do on the one VHS.
I think chapter 2 was already hinting us that CatNap is the next antagonist because of how the death screen faded into red. and all the "prototype praise" in the death scenes sounds like CatNap would say.
To me, the "It's time to harvest, the body is still fresh" message sounded like it was referring to Prototype notifying the toys about the player's death but since the player has the ability to apparently "resurrect", I'm having second thoughts🤔

Maybe when you die to the red smoke you aren't found by a monster and I think that the monsters bring you to the prototype so if one doesn't find you you can't get a second chance from the prototype

What if the Doctor is the reason we're able to come back to life? From what I can tell, it's pretty clear that the Doctor is still alive and got out before the Hour of Joy happened, almost like he predicted it in time. But he most likely needed to come back, because this was an important project to him, and he didnt want to just leave it after all the work he's done. And that's where we come in. We survived, most likely because we were fired or got away before getting silenced by the company or killed by the Hour of Joy, making us the best possible option for the Doctor to get his hands on the factory and all of his work again. In some way or another, we're helping the Doctor, either willingly or through blackmail. This goes into another thought I've had, and it's my lack of trust with Poppy. I think there's more to Poppy than we realize, and she's not just trying to save the toys and the innocent employees out of the goodness of her heart. One way or another, due to the title, she's going to be the final boss of the game. My prediction is that we will take down the Prototype, allowing the Doctor to get back into the factory, but by this point, we will side with Poppy and turn on the Doctor to try and stop him from torturing anymore people. But, when it's all said and done, and the Doctor is put to rest, Poppy will turn on us and reveal her true intentions. And that will lead to us taking on Poppy, and finally putting the sins of the company to rest, us most likely dying in the factory by the end of the story. Ironically, the Prototype will most likely be the one with the good intentions in all of this, even if we do still have to deal with him. This is just how I've been feeling about the story and all the theories made as the chapters come out. I might be stretching whats going on or what could happen, but I just thought this could make for an interesting theory video if gone into more detail.
In chapter 2, we see five slides showing officials names. One distorted slide could have our name. To prove this the Warning VHS tape could most likely been sent by US, to warn about the innocents being killed, but we were the only one to evacuate in time. The prototype was angry , we hear him in the radio in chp 3, so we knew about the hour of joy. But poppy told what happened , so why did she tell us if we knew about it? Simple, we must have then directly rushed out before the others could.
I like how your channel actually gives good theories and gives much proof and gameplay examples, however "Poppy Playtime Theory" (a channel) doesn't give good lore at all. He won't even prove it correctly, he'll even create stupid theories like "I will prove dogday isn't dead". Biggest plot twist might be everything is just a hallucination and is only playing in the player's character mind. This would explain why the player can't die. And why all deaths caused by toys are just jump scare and not other way to kill the player. The player might be someone in a coma from breathing in too much red smoke after the hour of joy and it cause the player to relive the nightmare.
You don’t actually die from the red smoke it makes you have hallucinations so most of the time Poppy playtime chapter 3 is half hallucinations. That’s why the death screen doesn’t show up because you’re not actually dying.

I think maybe some of those messages were from the prototype who was trying to control us just like he did to the other toys, maybe we ARE a toy that used to work in playtime. One thing that solidifies this theory is the VHS tape which said "you missed the even" it means hour of joy? And "you missed the meeting" meeting of toys? And "you missed the party" also hour of joy? And also maybe that is why guilt was haunting us in the hallucination, because we were helping 1006 OR because we didn't want to help him and we just ran. One thing that strengthens this theory is that the toys didn't try to kill us from the beggining (huggy literally just gave us a key then chased us because of starvation, mommy told us that if anyone deserved to die alone it's us because we didn't starve with them, and tried to kill us because she became a psycho fsr, and catnap literally gave us a warning to run, same with ms delight)...
So, actually, the message that caught my attention the most was "THIS RESEARCH MUST STAY BURIED. NOBODY MAY LEAVE." Because the first part makes sense, sure. Playtime Co. obviously wouldn’t want any of the reserch they were doing leaked to the public given none of it was even remotely legal, let alone ethical. But its the second half of that massage that interests me the most. "NOBODY MAY LEAVE." Who is saying that, and when? My immediate assumption is that it was probably said during the Hour of Joy, most likely by a scientist. But does that imply that the scientists were actively trying to keep people from escaping during the massacre? My best guess on why that would be the case, if it is, is that the scientists realized that if someone somehow manages to survive and escape they'd most likely tell people, meaning that the public would find out that not only are Playtime Co.'s toys alive, they're also really aggressive. So the scientists decided to basically say "no witnesses" and either lock everyone inside the building or lock all non-scientists out of whatever saferoom the final log was recorded in. Or perhaps it's the Prototype saying that. Poppy did that say he kills anyone who attempts to leave, so the second half of that massage would make sense for him. But, from what we know about him, Prototype doesn't seem like he would want the "research to stay buried". He seems like he would WANT people to find out about what was going on in the factory. Maybe. Its just interesting.
I felt like the messages became more desperate or demanding in some way as the player continues deeper into the facility. In the first chapter, the words felt inspiring in a way that a friend or family member would encourage you. But, when you go into Chapter 2 and 3, the messages seem less about encouragement and more towards like someone forcibly pushing you to do something.

My theory is that Chapter 2 and 3 are the player's deep dreams, which means we are in a "deep sleep" and the death messages are Poppy asking us to get up. Because remember in Chapter 1 , Poppy's case was full of stuff with red smoke or poppy gas, and when we opened her case we inhaled the gas and got knocked off. Which explains the whispers of Poppy's voice throughout the gameplay , telling us to get up, every single time we died in the game. And the other death messages like "Its time to harvest, the body is still fresh" , is the prototype talking to his subjects telling them to eat the player. While the death messages like " experiment 1006, isn't he wonderful?" could be a scientist talking to the player about 1006 ( assuming that the player worked that deep into the factory to make him a scientist.)
When you "Die" to the red smoke, you didn't die. Catnap just picks you up and moves you to the last checkpoint. If Catnap was trying to kill us he could have since Chapter 2.
The prototype can copy other people’s/toys’ voices in that one VHS tape at the end of Chapter 3, maybe he was interpreting certain characters voice and lines, mimicking what they said to others at certain points from what it could hear back then. It’s possible the Prototype doesn’t have a original voice since it’s an amalgamation of dead bodies and toys, for all we know, his dark and raspy voice could be a broken Boxy Boo voice box.

I personally think that the red smock or poppy gas only puts the play to sleep, and the player does not die, so in theory, you only get massages when you die, not when you fall asleep 🙂

i have a theory:the player when going to a make a friend zone in chapter 1 goes in a toy creator machine so the player becomes a toy and like how huggy can revieve him self the player can do that as well and like how huggy resives messages from the prototype in project playtime the player could be getting thos messages from poppy because expirement 1006 aka the prototype is leader of group of all antgonnists through out the game poppy is the leader of all protagnists including dogday kissy missy and the player
It could always just be an average checkpoint, because you basically revive in every game. Maybe they're trying to occupy us with a message after we die so we don't rage quit or something, or it could be a big part of the lore. Also I check first thing every morning to see if you upload 💪
Yeah, it's a bit odd that "coming back to life" also brings you back to an earlier part of a chase/boss sequence. Did the enemies just retreat and wait for you to get up so that they could re-enact the same sequence again?
The red smoke isn't killing you, it's making you go into a deep sleep that will lead to your death. Aka since you are still alive for years having no death screen and you "wake you" from a bad dream.

I’m pretty sure when you pass out from the red smoke, you actually just wake up because you’re not dead. As for when you die and receive death screen notes, I’m pretty sure you actually die and never return. It’s your final thoughts before you die.
I have many theories about whats going on with those messages, they are coming from different people. One is Poppy. some of them are Catnap, Some of them Are Elliot, Elliot I Assume DIED and they wanted to bring him BACK from the dead. The Prototype is the person who discoved the secret to bring people back from the dead. Catnaps clearly are the ones that Fade to RED. The Prototype is the only one with the ability to LEAVE, it's up to him if you make it to the door or not. 1006 has a connection to electronics. Or maybe 1006 is connected to the building itself? The toys have to FIGHT for control of themselves. Whatever makes these toys part HUmAn/TOY Prototype has the ability to control the TOY part of them.

I'm tired of people insisting that our character is someone we know from the company. We're not the head of anything. We're not spoken too like we are. Mommy would not have said "you worked here!" to one of the heads. She'd know your face and name. She'd know what you did. She'd have been like "YOU!" not teasing and playfully about murder. Ms Delight wouldn't have had to take a second to recognize us either. We're a faceless drone she recognises.
There's some people who think Sawyer (or whatever was the name of that doctor who was wondered about the prototype) has become DogDay (at least the big one), because of how equal their voice Tones are (specially in english) PD: ¿Limón?
Condisdering Sawyer's acute interest in the prototype, it would make sense that Sawyer as DogDay would try and stay alive to continue his research and not be at the mercy of CatNap. Sawyer seems deranged enough to continue his research antics despite being a Biger Body and yet, we found him hung to die. It seems slightly out of character for Sawyer but I kinda like that theory regardless. He's getting a taste of his own medicine with nothing to show for it. Instead, I believe that Sawyer, who was reported missing or "on leave" by the person overseeing CatNap as a replacement, might have been killed and overtaken by the prototype sometime before the Hour of Joy. I hold this belief due to the abrupt change in plans involving the prototype and the subsequent escape of the children/toys. Assuming that Sawyer was nowhere to be found before or during the Hour of Joy, it's possible that the prototype got to him first. Given the prototype's violent tendencies, evidenced by its killing of a researcher and injuring others during its escape with Theo, I believe that incorporating Sawyer into the prototype exacerbated these tendencies. While the prototype orchestrated the Hour of Joy, I posit that it was actually the version with Sawyer integrated into it that devised the plan and presented it as an escape. This could explain why all the toys remain in the factories a decade later. Sawyer compelled the toys to remain in the factory for further research using the prototype's ability to communicate and control.

Maybe when you die to the red smoke you aren't found by a monster and I think that the monsters bring you to the prototype so if one doesn't find you you can't get a second chance from the prototype

What if the Doctor is the reason we're able to come back to life? From what I can tell, it's pretty clear that the Doctor is still alive and got out before the Hour of Joy happened, almost like he predicted it in time. But he most likely needed to come back, because this was an important project to him, and he didnt want to just leave it after all the work he's done. And that's where we come in. We survived, most likely because we were fired or got away before getting silenced by the company or killed by the Hour of Joy, making us the best possible option for the Doctor to get his hands on the factory and all of his work again. In some way or another, we're helping the Doctor, either willingly or through blackmail.
This goes into another thought I've had, and it's my lack of trust with Poppy. I think there's more to Poppy than we realize, and she's not just trying to save the toys and the innocent employees out of the goodness of her heart. One way or another, due to the title, she's going to be the final boss of the game. My prediction is that we will take down the Prototype, allowing the Doctor to get back into the factory, but by this point, we will side with Poppy and turn on the Doctor to try and stop him from torturing anymore people. But, when it's all said and done, and the Doctor is put to rest, Poppy will turn on us and reveal her true intentions. And that will lead to us taking on Poppy, and finally putting the sins of the company to rest, us most likely dying in the factory by the end of the story. Ironically, the Prototype will most likely be the one with the good intentions in all of this, even if we do still have to deal with him.
This is just how I've been feeling about the story and all the theories made as the chapters come out. I might be stretching whats going on or what could happen, but I just thought this could make for an interesting theory video if gone into more detail.

In chapter 2, we see five slides showing officials names. One distorted slide could have our name.
To prove this the Warning VHS tape could most likely been sent by US, to warn about the innocents being killed, but we were the only one to evacuate in time. The prototype was angry , we hear him in the radio in chp 3, so we knew about the hour of joy. But poppy told what happened , so why did she tell us if we knew about it? Simple, we must have then directly rushed out before the others could.
I like how your channel actually gives good theories and gives much proof and gameplay examples, however "Poppy Playtime Theory" (a channel) doesn't give good lore at all. He won't even prove it correctly, he'll even create stupid theories like "I will prove dogday isn't dead". I just thank you for actually giving good theories unlike others (and plus you won't use the most annoying AI voices designed to make people want to bash their heads against a wall)

Biggest plot twist might be everything is just a hallucination and is only playing in the player's character mind. This would explain why the player can't die. And why all deaths caused by toys are just jump scare and not other way to kill the player. The player might be someone in a coma from breathing in too much red smoke after the hour of joy and it cause the player to relive the nightmare.

You don’t actually die from the red smoke it makes you have hallucinations so most of the time Poppy playtime chapter 3 is half hallucinations. That’s why the death screen doesn’t show up because you’re not actually dying.

The reason why you don’t get the death screen on the smoke is because you don’t actually die just fall asleep
I think maybe some of those messages were from the prototype who was trying to control us just like he did to the other toys, maybe we ARE a toy that used to work in playtime. One thing that solidifies this theory is the VHS tape which said "you missed the even" it means hour of joy? And "you missed the meeting" meeting of toys? And "you missed the party" also hour of joy? And also maybe that is why guilt was haunting us in the hallucination, because we were helping 1006 OR because we didn't want to help him and we just ran. One thing that strengthens this theory is that the toys didn't try to kill us from the beggining (huggy literally just gave us a key then chased us because of starvation, mommy told us that if anyone deserved to die alone it's us because we didn't starve with them, and tried to kill us because she became a psycho fsr, and catnap literally gave us a warning to run, same with ms delight)...

So, actually, the message that caught my attention the most was "THIS RESEARCH MUST STAY BURIED. NOBODY MAY LEAVE." Because the first part makes sense, sure. Playtime Co. obviously wouldn’t want any of the reserch they were doing leaked to the public given none of it was even remotely legal, let alone ethical.
But its the second half of that massage that interests me the most. "NOBODY MAY LEAVE." Who is saying that, and when? My immediate assumption is that it was probably said during the Hour of Joy, most likely by a scientist. But does that imply that the scientists were actively trying to keep people from escaping during the massacre? My best guess on why that would be the case, if it is, is that the scientists realized that if someone somehow manages to survive and escape they'd most likely tell people, meaning that the public would find out that not only are Playtime Co.'s toys alive, they're also really aggressive. So the scientists decided to basically say "no witnesses" and either lock everyone inside the building or lock all non-scientists out of whatever saferoom the final log was recorded in.
Or perhaps it's the Prototype saying that. Poppy did that say he kills anyone who attempts to leave, so the second half of that massage would make sense for him. But, from what we know about him, Prototype doesn't seem like he would want the "research to stay buried". He seems like he would WANT people to find out about what was going on in the factory. Maybe.

I felt like the messages became more desperate or demanding in some way as the player continues deeper into the facility. In the first chapter, the words felt inspiring in a way that a friend or family member would encourage you. But, when you go into Chapter 2 and 3, the messages seem less about encouragement and more towards like someone forcibly pushing you to do something.

2:14 The game: player, dying is gay 💀
My theory is that Chapter 2 and 3 are the player's deep dreams, which means we are in a "deep sleep" and the death messages are Poppy asking us to get up. Because remember in Chapter 1 , Poppy's case was full of stuff with red smoke or poppy gas, and when we opened her case we inhaled the gas and got knocked off. Which explains the whispers of Poppy's voice throughout the gameplay , telling us to get up, every single time we died in the game.
And the other death messages like "Its time to harvest, the body is still fresh" , is the prototype talking to his subjects telling them to eat the player.
While the death messages like " experiment 1006, isn't he wonderful?" could be a scientist talking to the player about 1006 ( assuming that the player worked that deep into the factory to make him a scientist.)
That actually makes sense ngl

When you "Die" to the red smoke, you didn't die. Catnap just picks you up and moves you to the last checkpoint.
If Catnap was trying to kill us he could have since Chapter 2.
The prototype can copy other people’s/toys’ voices in that one VHS tape at the end of Chapter 3, maybe he was interpreting certain characters voice and lines, mimicking what they said to others at certain points from what it could hear back then. It’s possible the Prototype doesn’t have a original voice since it’s an amalgamation of dead bodies and toys, for all we know, his dark and raspy voice could be a broken Boxy Boo voice box.
I wanted to see the prototype in the hour of joy VHS! What do you all think he was doing during that rampage? He clearly didn’t kill anyone because we didn’t see him on the hour of joy VHS.

My theory: As we know poppy was daughter of elliot Ludwig and when she died she was turend into a doll thats when Ludwig got mad and when he offended the scientist who have done this they turned him into the prototype thats why Ludwig(prototype) doesn't kill poppy and sealed her because Ludwig killed everyone and poppy wanted to take revenge but Ludwig loved her and We as a employee who loved childrens like Ludwig helped Ludwig to take revenge and make hour of joy happen (we were absent that time) and when catnap tried to killed us and prototype saw us he killled him(catnap) because we helped prototype and same happened with mommy long legs as she stole poppy and tried to kill Us but huggy wuggy didn't killed us and didn't do anything to poppy basically we are back here to see what is going on there thats why we see guilt haunts you in hallucinations and I think all kids are safe with prototype and dog day was cutted half because he helped poppy and tried to offend us but didn't killed him as he was a kid to and leader of smiling clitters 😅😮

It could always just be an average checkpoint, because you basically revive in every game. Maybe they're trying to occupy us with a message after we die so we don't rage quit or something, or it could be a big part of the lore.

Here’s a theory if we go deeper does that mean that there’s less space to roam and hide and there wouldn’t be a circus because we’re going deeper under ground.

I have many theories about whats going on with those messages, they are coming from different people.
One is Poppy. some of them are Catnap, Some of them Are Elliot, Elliot I Assume DIED and they wanted to bring him BACK from the dead.
The Prototype is the person who discoved the secret to bring people back from the dead.
Catnaps clearly are the ones that Fade to RED.
The Prototype is the only one with the ability to LEAVE, it's up to him if you make it to the door or not. 1006 has a connection to electronics. Or maybe 1006 is connected to the building itself?

I'm tired of people insisting that our character is someone we know from the company. We're not the head of anything. We're not spoken too like we are. Mommy would not have said "you worked here!" to one of the heads. She'd know your face and name. She'd know what you did. She'd have been like "YOU!" not teasing and playfully about murder. Ms Delight wouldn't have had to take a second to recognize us either. We're a faceless drone she recognises.

There's some people who think Sawyer (or whatever was the name of that doctor who was wondered about the prototype) has become DogDay (at least the big one), because of how equal their voice Tones are (specially in english)

Condisdering Sawyer's acute interest in the prototype, it would make sense that Sawyer as DogDay would try and stay alive to continue his research and not be at the mercy of CatNap. Sawyer seems deranged enough to continue his research antics despite being a Biger Body and yet, we found him hung to die. It seems slightly out of character for Sawyer but I kinda like that theory regardless. He's getting a taste of his own medicine with nothing to show for it.
Instead, I believe that Sawyer, who was reported missing or "on leave" by the person overseeing CatNap as a replacement, might have been killed and overtaken by the prototype sometime before the Hour of Joy. I hold this belief due to the abrupt change in plans involving the prototype and the subsequent escape of the children/toys. Assuming that Sawyer was nowhere to be found before or during the Hour of Joy, it's possible that the prototype got to him first. Given the prototype's violent tendencies, evidenced by its killing of a researcher and injuring others during its escape with Theo, I believe that incorporating Sawyer into the prototype exacerbated these tendencies. While the prototype orchestrated the Hour of Joy, I posit that it was actually the version with Sawyer integrated into it that devised the plan and presented it as an escape. This could explain why all the toys remain in the factories a decade later. Sawyer compelled the toys to remain in the factory for further research using the prototype's ability to communicate and control.
