What are FilmForever power grades? FilmForever Power Grades is a set of film Emulation Power Grades that are created after deeply studying the Kodak 2383 LUT included in Davinci Resolve. Friends, to be honest, I hadn't wanted to buy it, because I hadn't seen an explicit video that explained everything, but right now I saw that it is for me.

    Looks promising!
However, I still curious about the difference between FilmForever and the vanilla Resolve tools. I can use "Kodak 2383" look in the Resolve without any issue. If I need Halation and Grain effect or the frame border, I can also add them manually.
Does the Power Grade add more function that we can't achieve in vanilla Resolve? Or it just makes the workflow smoother and more pleasing?

You’d have to set the correct input (S-Log2 S-Gamut3.Cine) but also probably use the “De-Band” feature in resolve to counter A7III 8-bit limitations

Guys, quick question : how can i adjust the ratio size of the Film Dust and grain in a 2:1 ratio ( 3840x1920 ). Because that give me black bars on both side :/

How did you do the move at 6:05? Looks like you clicked on Gamma without moving it but the vectorscope moved about a bunch.

So the "Kodak 2383" Look is inside the "Tone" Node, right? I understand that you will not show that Node, but it is a very bold statement that you rebuild the Kodak 2383 LUT as a PowerGrade. As a "clean" PowerGrade. I, personally, think that it is NOT possible to recreate that LUT with the native grading tools inside DaVinci Resolve. I´ve seen PowwerGrades that come very close but easily break if you modify some parameters. Or you will break the Node by adding more saturation, shoft Offset or add more contrast.
If you don´t show the PowerGrade... why should anyone buy it? There is a Kodak 2383 LUT for free when you download Resolve. A PowerGrade gives you / me / everyone the option to modifyi it. But modify what? How do you build it? With Lift Gamma Gain, Curves, HSL, Color warper? L*a*b switch? I think the video has to show more information. It is simple "LOOK, Halation and Grain". All 3 things are availbale in the Studio version. Why should I buy this PowerGrade. For some dirty mattes overlay? Or some film grain? Or the "Kodak 2383" as a PowerGrade. I don't believe it unless you are showing me the nodes or telling me the tools you are using to create it. And how many nodes you used. And more important.. show some gradient ramt and "test charts".

      1. It’s not inside tone node.
      2. You are right, one can’t rebuild it inside the DaVinci. We’ve got the nearest match for it. Planning to put up charts on website.
      3. This is just the first video. There’s a whole 20 video series to go in depth with Grain and Halation option along with subtractive Color and 2383 Power Grade rebuild node. We’re planning to release a video per week.
      4. If you want to test them out before buying it, fire me an email at coloristfactory@gmail.com, I’ll share a free Power Grade

Looks really nice, thanks for the tutorial. I usually work in a colour managed workspace using DaVinci YRGB (Z cam footage using Sony s-gammut3.cine to Arri log3 to rec 709) as this typically gets me the best results with Z Cam footage. I'm trying to understand how to use your Powergrade in this workflow - any advice much appreciated.

Y'all really need to fix the long ass file naming sequences of how you organize the files!!! Why are you writing a whole damn paragraph to name a folder? I can't even extract it into the root directory of a drive because the naming sequence is too damn long. Also it's just tacky, we know it's a "proprietary time based algorithm luts" because you've gone over it 50 times.
