Singapore is truly incredible with incredible people and food. Thank you Luke for this amazing series from Singapore and I enjoyed watching the food across Chinese, Indian, Malay and Indonesian cuisines. Look forward to the Philippines series.

Sunday mornings are for Chopstick Travel! I get excited every time I receive the notification! Thank you Luke, for always bringing the best of everything! Much Much Love As Always! ❤️
Just a note. For Malay satay, always choose mutton and babat (tripe, if available). If you encounter a Chinese satay stall, then pork satay is the default. Also putu piring is made with rice flour, not coconut. The coconut shavings are just a garnish, albeit an important one. Cheers!
The lime in Mee Rebus is the finishing touch, it can remove the oiliness; Putu Piring looks very tempting, and it is sold in a very modern way; Curry puff is an Indian snack that looks bigger than Indian one; Rojak is a vegetable and fruit salad with a spicy peanut sauce; Satay originated in Indonesia, usually the meat is marinated in sauce before roasting; Singapore's food is really rich and diverse, thank you for sharing!👍😃👏 第一道馬來滷麵的酸橙是畫龍點睛,可去油膩;嘟嘟糕看起來很誘人,它的販售方式很現代化; 咖哩餃是一道印度小吃,但看起來比印度的大;羅惹是一種蔬果沙拉,加上香辣的花生醬而成; 沙嗲是起源於印尼,通常肉以醬汁先醃過再烤;新加坡的美食真的是豐富而多樣化,謝謝分享!
Hi there… I’m a big fan of your channel… Welcome to Singapore though I think you may be heading to another nice place soon… Just wanna share about the Merlion symbol… The lion head actually represents the name of Singapore which actually stands for the Lion City… Locally we call this country Singapura, which was given by a legendary prince who landed on this island and claimed to have seen a Lion in the jungle, though scientifically it’s hard to find any evidence on that yet. He then decided to reside and make a kingdom here and officially called it Singapura, aka Singapore. And for the bottom-fish side represents a city of fishermen. This is because Singapura, during those days, before the landing of the prince it was called Temasek, the island was known to be a port for many fishermen who landed or reside here and many small islands surrounding it. Till now Singapore is still remembered as a former fishermen’s village. So, I hope this may be helpful and I hope to see you again here. Enjoy your next trip and I’m still looking for new posts by you.
Luke, thanks for the update on Sabrina that you provided in response to one of the other comments. Yes, she is terribly missed but still enjoy your content. Also, glad to hear she is ok. I know myself and others were getting concerned. Wish you and Sabrina the best going forward!

Putu Piring is made from rice flour not coconut. The fresh Shredded coconut is served on the side. The protein source for Mee Robus is not only from the boiled egg but as well as the gravy itself. The gravy is made from preserved soya bean.
You missed the Satay stall called " Sudi Mampir " while you were at Haig Road Hawker Centre. It's the best in Singapore. Period !!! The Satay tastes much much better and cheaper too than at Lau Pa Sat . You wouldn't want to have any other satay when you have tried the ones I had mentioned in Haig Road Hawker Centre.

Hi Luke, at 16:14, when you mention the satay was $7 for 10 pieces, was that $7SGD or $7USD ? I paid a similar amount in Bangkok for a pork stick shish kebab on the street, it was 25 Thai Baht per stick.

Is it rendang from Malay?
Well, Indonesia have mie, rujak and satay also.

I just wanted to add, that fruit rojak also contains shrimp paste within the sauce, and it gives it a very strong umami flavour.
