Love these videos always interesting watching people make things. Fairly new to the channel after watching you joke around with Mr furze didn't know how insightful this channel would be. Fab content
Love these videos. Simple well explained laid back videos of a bloke making stuff. You need someone to hold the camera for you though when using machinery.
Not counting reruns on minor satellite channels, it's close to 40 years since The A Team was on the TV, so Tom's younger viewers might not have known the reference. ua-cam.com/video/6FqUyxVD4qc/v-deo.html
Things you say as a mate of Colin Furze " And over there's the trebuchet". Good looking barn so far and that paint sprayer looks the job. I'd have to hire one but got to be cheaper than a sprayer and compressor.
I bet a lot of viewers thought of Colin when Tom mentioned safety putting the hard hat on, and I bet I was not the only person thought, 'Never mind the hard hat. Just wear a Colin Furze Safety Tie.'
I have just ordered a mag drill, I have no use for it atm but saw yours and need to have one in my tool stock lol I suppose i will be getting a spayer now, watching you is getting exspensive lol
Those sprayers are brilliant Tom. I hired one a fees years ago to paint a workshop that was built of concrete block. I had the job done in a couple of hours, if I had of used a roller it would of taken weeks. I could never understand why you needed to put a hard hat on when you are working at heights unless it was to stop the seagulls shit 😂😂. I think you underestimated how many parts you would be videoing not that I’m complaining the more the merrier mate.
Yeah fancy decorating your house with that gun be a lot damn quicker when a paint brush or roller just have to be careful in which direction you point it😂😂
I was worried about cleaning the sprayer thinking you'd need to blow the line clear, and that would waste a ton of paint, but after seeing Tom clear the white, it looks like you only clean the gun and leave the paint in the line. Still wasteful if changing colour I'm thinking.
Using the mag-drill and those annular cutters to drill those plates accurately set Tom up for a trouble free installation, that and those cones in the foundation gave Tom the play he needed to adjust it all. Hope he shows fitting the grout under the base plates in the follow up episodes. Looking forward to the next instalment...:)
just do yourself a favour and wear an harness when you decide to wash that roof. My granddad didn't, and he slipped... mind you, people were a bit more reckless 40 years ago.
I've been thinking about buying a Graco to paint a couple of grain trailers and shipping containers, but I wasn't sure how easy it'd be to clean oil based paint out of it afterwards? 🤔🤷♂️
When you set the uprights, you set them on a “packer” why didn’t you put nuts on the 4 rods? Also I noticed that you didn’t use lock washer when bolting the A frame together? Just curious?
@@bigutubefan2738yeah, but the concrete should displace the water easily and will cure underwater. The weight is mostly held up by the base that is already there, and by the small sliver of new concrete that goes around the central spacer, which is above water. The new concrete is mostly to keep the threaded rods from moving sideways.
Hey everybody join me in my campaign to get a collaboration between Tom and Mr Hewes. I love seeing my favourite tubers getting together and shooting the breeze.
Heh, I was wondering if Tom would have been interested in building a dozer blade and an a-frame for a Centurion AVRE, but I have seen Mr Hewes has already managed to source them. Maybe we'll see a collaboration between the Australian Armor and Artillery Museum and Cutting Edge Engineering someday, instead.
Spray your roof with a biocide to get rid of the moss. I used a fiberglass window cleaning pole and strapped the pressure washer to it to avoid having to use boards on the roof If its asbestos then might be worth airless spraying a 20year polyurethane roof paint on after its clean to seal and extend its life. I have a load of old sheds im doing this to when it stops raining.
Quick question please Mr Lamb, Why make a concrete pad for the steel bases then place the steal on a packer in the middle, i understand the need to adjust the tilt, just confused at the gap from the base of the steel to the concrete?
It's great to see your confidence growing when talking to the camera and seeing more personality. Well done :)
Thanks
Brilliant work Tom, great channel ❤

I assume that is water based paint Tom.
Excellent video as always.
Oul
I'm glad you explained what the cones were for in this one, I did wonder why you would leave somewhere for water to collect.
Great program, many thanks to tom.
Cracking vid Tom 👍

It’s easy when you know what you’re doing Tom like what you do and get your self some welding sleeves they make a huge difference and nice work 👍👍

Tom lamb need to show colin furze how to put this much content out
He will as soon as I go back a dig the hole
Another great video tom
My first official job as a teen was painting houses. Using a sprayer is such a dream I’ve pretty much refused to paint any other way ever since, haha.
I was worried about cleaning the sprayer thinking you'd need to blow the line clear, and that would waste a ton of paint, but after seeing Tom clear the white, it looks like you only clean the gun and leave the paint in the line. Still wasteful if changing colour I'm thinking.

We have harnesses and would never walk on an old roof anyway
Love that airless sprayer, can you spray Coal Tar Epoxy with it? Thanks for posting Tom....
Not sure but it sprays some thick stuff
Whats the drift like with the airless sprayer . Will you end up with a green massey baler 😁
Ye probably will
Love the paint sprayer. Could you use this to paint rooms in a house with normal interior paint? Would be loads easier than a brush or roller
That’s what there for really to do houses
Can't wait for part 5
JCBs were getting a workout today!
Always do
Green tractor is everything ok Tom 😂
It’s a mate
I've been thinking about buying a Graco to paint a couple of grain trailers and shipping containers, but I wasn't sure how easy it'd be to clean oil based paint out of it afterwards? 🤔🤷♂️
Just stick some thinners through it
@Tomlamb980 OK cheers. I'd got visions of having to run 5 gallon of thinners through it every time I'd used it! 😂
When you set the uprights, you set them on a “packer” why didn’t you put nuts on the 4 rods? Also I noticed that you didn’t use lock washer when bolting the A frame together?
Just curious?
If I did that I wouldn’t be able to tilt it very easy.
Looking good but - do you have anything against using washers!!?
I guess maybe I should so
Hello Tom love the videos, just wondering what the name of that painting machine again, and how much would one of them cost a man?? Thanks again.
Airless paint sprayer ?
Gez, that helmet looks good on you, mate! 😂
Thanks 😅
Casual trebuchet mention likes its an everyday thing. 😂
Hey Tom, is there any chance I could come over to ur neck of the woods and do few days work with u all I ask for is 6 free range eggs 😂
I see a red beam
And I want it painted green
No colors anymore
I want them to turn green
This time I'm only here for the Humpty Dumpty references 😅
Thanks
14:13 great content again
Obviously Walsall camera you must show us your using the health and safety directory but I bet off camera no such directive is followed😅😂😂
One handed shed building must be difficult 😂does the paint not set in the pipe on the airless sprayer or was the white just washing out thinners
It was just white water
👍🏼
How much is the sprayer? Got a barn to make?
Have a look online carnt think what it was
Around £950 Inc vat
Thank you, very much
🎉
You didn't show it, but I presume you filled the cones in under the legs with neat concrete?
Not until the roofs onn
Some of them were full of water.
@@bigutubefan2738yeah, but the concrete should displace the water easily and will cure underwater. instead of signing name you should have wrote "spread me"
How much cost for H iron?
Ring a steel supplier
when you need to get steelwork down a narrow gap, why not strap a small trailer under each end (or even just under the arse end) and pull it?
Sounds a lot of work

Geo engineering and they are trying to tell us it is climate change. People need to research agenda 2030 not very good for agriculture or any of us 👍
Quick question please Mr Lamb,
Why make a concrete pad for the steel bases then place the steal on a packer in the middle, i understand the need to adjust the tilt, just confused at the gap from the base of the steel to the concrete?
you can easy lift or lower the colume to the correct level when it is all erected and squared up
So that when I’m done the concrete can flow under to fill the cones
@Tomlamb980 ah thank you, I didn't realise you was concreting under the posts
