Tom, you've turned out to be really good at this video malarky. You have a nice balance of detail and progress, cutting away and jumping ahead which is so much easier to follow than the endless minutes of one operation. It was a given that you'd be very good at building stuff, because you're a farmer, so you do anything and everything, but you do it amazingly well.
Like it our Tom . The jobs a good un. Not too sure of the tap drainage . Every big pit I've been in has a small sump a grill and pump. But top job squire. Can't wait to see lights and air lines etc 👍👍👍😎
3,000 years from now, when the shed has long been reduced to dust, Tom's Super-Pit will still be as strong as ever. The AI Archeologists will be well chuffed.
Looks fantastic Tom! This is like a bunker build, it will be so strong and if you ever let this go to someone else, they will never be able to tear this down 😋 Can't wait for part 4! ❤
Pit looks great! Those mobile concrete batch plants are brilliant. I live in Australia and getting fresh mixture at the delivery point is a huge advantage. You get the exact desired slump and a lot more working time in hot climates.
Being of a mature age now I more than appreciate the idea of not having to get down on the ground and wriggle about under machinery. I'm also never sure if the access under things is getting smaller or my belly is getting bigger.
You have done a great job Tom you always get a some spillage when doing jobs like that but it’s coming away nicely and I see Colin popping in to make sure you’re doing a proper job it’s going to look really smart all painted up 👏👏👍👍
I love the way everything is made from the bricks, even the stairs. Makes it more rugged. And how the Angle frames are tied into the concrete. Very well done!. I had an inspection pit at my old workshop, that had two flatbars with spacers welded to the inside of the angle iron frames and I had an oil sump that slid on those rails. Kinda like a small railway. Made oil changes really fun! It held about 100 liters, so most of the fluids from the tractors would fit into that sump trolley. I had the angles the other way around. But I reckon you could pretty much build a frame with four wheels and make a sump track on the angles. Also, another good idea is a trolley jack that rides on those rails. Again, great work you did Tom. And I got some new ideas to myself aswell. Cheers mate!
If you get flooded Tom you are going to need very long arms to be able open that tap without getting very wet. No doubt you have already thought of that.
I'd be tempted to get a big pond liner and deliberately fill it with water from your bore hole in summer for a very narrow pool. Charge the local kids a quid a dip during heatwaves.
That’s a very nice inspection build pit 0:02 - whatever one of those is Tom? 😂 Nice job if a bit messy at the end. Might have been easier to weld the top frame together over the top of the pit, save you having to lift it into position then.
That’s not a mess Tom. Let it dry a bit then take a hard brush to it and the cement will just fall off. I know I gave you a bit of stick last time for your trowel work but I have to as you’ve done a brilliant job of it and you’re so lucky being able to drain through the wall. Will you be spray painting the walls? It makes painting block a hell of a lot easier. Looking forward to seeing the next part mate
Tom Lamb I'm surprised you didn't tunnel over to Colin's! lol I love watching what you and Colin are up too. I want to know where to get the "SAFTY RED TIP SOX" the young man is wearing, I'd like to find them here in the states.
There's a ready mix guy in Hastings, East Sussex, goes by the name of William the concreter. Are going to have any of the safety flip flops in your merc store?
I just happened upon your channel. Good to see young fellers pushing concrete around. Good job and it looks great and functional. It appears you thought of everything. The only thing I would add maybe is a sump pump for the occasional flood emergency that tends to occur and we here would have to do so for building codes. I am a retired GC and had to build to ridiculously strict codes in southern California. Cheers to your new pit.
Once had a lend of a pit free only issue there was a fork lift parked 3" from the edge i was given the keys never driven a fork lift before and all the legends were worn off the controls.
Well done Tom. I thought this tractor trailer sized ruddy great hole, was next to an old, car sized ruddy great hole. So if that one doesn't fill up with water with no special drainage, there's no reason to think this one will?
Boy that was bloody wet concrete, lucky it didn’t get under that angle iron and lift it up 😳. Looking like is gong to be a fantastic asset for the workshop way better for working on equipment. Not a cheap investment though
You missed a trick there Tom , you could have protruded that angle iron about two inches proud of the floor to give you an extra safety rail when your manoeuvring a vehicle over the pit to help reduce the chance of dipping a wheel down the hole..(always a phobia of mine!)

Thank you very much!
This pit could double up as a hot tub in the summer Tom…..
Great job - amazing attention to detail both on your project and the camera work.
1:49 an exquisite pair of work boots right there. Steel toe caps and all. ;)
Tom you are a legend ... my son, husband and I LOVE watching your projects.
Beautiful - Look who turns up at the end...hehe
It seems that an Englishman's pit is also his castle too...
Great solid build and a project that's easy to watch - thanks.
Another great instalment of the project, can't wait for the final one.
Oh you tease! Looking forward to part 4!
Part 5 & 6, mate. Keep em coming 🙂 👍👍👍
Wearing Sliders in a workshop!! the pit looks good Tom
and welding in the grainstore made me wince too!
Well done, and looking forward to the next video in the series!
Mate looking great and great to see Colin hope he helped out.
What i can deduce from 3 video's Tom Lamb, is that you want to tie the pit walls in with the concrete. im glad you told us a couple of time lol :D
Coming on lovely lad.
Fantastic TOM! absolutely fantastic cant wait for pt4!
Looks great Tom. Quite a big job in the end.
Yes but good
hope those are HSE approved flip flops!, its looking good now time for tea and biscuits, 👍

But top job squire. Can't wait to see lights and air lines etc 👍👍👍😎
I was hoping there would be more parts than just three. These videos are very entertaining! Keep up the good work Tom Lamb!
Great work tom looks brilliant
2:17 excellent, the safety flip flops again with built-in see through steel toe caps 👍
There so good
Its looking really great Tom, this is inspiration for making my own pit, thanks for sharing!
It's looking great, The idea with the steels and the welded on rebar set in with the concrete will give it real streanth on the top edge. good job....
That's the plan!
Very nice Tom, always good if Colin does the approval
3,000 years from now, when the shed has long been reduced to dust, Tom's Super-Pit will still be as strong as ever. The AI Archeologists will be well chuffed.
It will be labeled the King's chamber.
Great job. You boys made it look easy.

Looking good. Hope the pour sets well, and you don't get any little feet in the finish. Keep up the good work, and see you next week for the finale.
The mutts nuts mate, Properly impressed with the job, even if you did spill a bit 😄Roll on part four, and five. 🙂👍
Love watching you to
Nice work Tom. Thank Colin for the follow...
Toptastic Tom
looking brilliant like the angle iron edge 🤠
Super series of videos. Thank you.
Excellent series of videos 👍.
Really handy that you could float off the floor without kneeling or bending down Tom 😹😹😹
Hello Tom Lamb. Neat project. Can't wait to see next video. Greetings from Bodega Bay California in the USA
Thanks for watching
Cracking watch as always, dude!! Pit's looking good 👍
Being of a mature age now I more than appreciate the idea of not having to get down on the ground and wriggle about under machinery. I'm also never sure if the access under things is getting smaller or my belly is getting bigger.
Less McDonald’s needed
Lol yes Tom you've made a mess, it'll clean up and look great with some whitewash on it ❤
Nice job Tom..just a thought I would have put a few rebar steps in when you laid the blocks as your emergency pit exit save adding a ladder
Thats going to be so nice for working on equipment!
Moped LOL. looking great!
You have done a great job Tom you always get a some spillage when doing jobs like that but it’s coming away nicely and I see Colin popping in to make sure you’re doing a proper job it’s going to look really smart all painted up 👏👏👍👍
I reckon you have done a super job. 👍
Just don't drive over it with a 3 wheeled robin though. 😄
Going to make it so much easier for you tom, looks an awsome job. Also loving my Tom lamb hat keeps me nice and warm when watching ice hockey 😊
I THINK YOUR DOING A FANTASTIC JOB 😊😊
nice work Tom 👍

Superb job Tom.
N0ice work Tom! Luxury pit :D
If you get flooded Tom you are going to need very long arms to be able open that tap without getting very wet.
No doubt you have already thought of that.
I hope it doesn’t rain again then 😂
If gets that deep you have got a problem, probably we are all going to need an boat!
Or just always have the tap open permanently.
I'd be tempted to get a big pond liner and deliberately fill it with water from your bore hole in summer for a very narrow pool. Charge the local kids a quid a dip during heatwaves.
Hi Tom if you end up with water/oil/fuel spilt in the pit you could just run a couple of old 12v fuel pumps in there to clear it up.
Good idea
Perfect job.. Good luck from Colorado USA.. 👌😎🇺🇸
Thanks
The bits of re bar welded ,old school called them tangs 😊
Watching from Boston USA. Great job guys
Thanks
Proper again Tom 👌
Awesome bud cheers 👍🏻
Bon Boulo 😆😆👍👍
Love the safety flip flops on ur helper😂
Looking forward to the video of the Link tunnel between yours n Furzes
Won’t be long
@@Tomlamb980it'll need to be a bit long. Or has he moved nextdoor.
You need to teach Colin about the poker Tom.
That’s a very nice inspection build pit 0:02 - whatever one of those is Tom? 😂
Nice job if a bit messy at the end. Might have been easier to weld the top frame together over the top of the pit, save you having to lift it into position then.
There is a firm based near Hastings called William the concreter.
That’s not a mess Tom. Let it dry a bit then take a hard brush to it and the cement will just fall off. Yer airless paint sprayer
Brilliant Project Tom!I call it Putin proof 😂
Great with the frequent uploads (faster than Colin)
Tom, thank you for William the Concreter! Shit my pants laughing! If Guillaume le Concretant invaded England, there would be no redbricks!
Tom Lamb I'm surprised you didn't tunnel over to Colin's! lol I love watching what you and Colin are up too. I want to know where to get the "SAFTY RED TIP SOX" the young man is wearing, I'd like to find them here in the states.
I guess from a sports shop il ask hin
From someone who built a near exact i would run plate roughly where the tracks of equipment would be running to save your concrete
There's a ready mix guy in Hastings, East Sussex, goes by the name of William the concreter. Are going to have any of the safety flip flops in your merc store?
I think that wall looks fantastic, id leave and not paint it 🙂 assuming you hosed the comcrete of before it set.
Always thinking 👍
With all the oil and grease that'll inevitably end up in the pit, is it wise to then leech that into the ground water?
The pit is sealed and can’t leak into the ground ?
Tom what’s with the sunburn? It’s winter over in Blighty. Sheesh you’ll be a lobster in summer!
I always am
LOL! Those safety slippers! 🤣
There cheep

Cheers to your new pit.
Did you miss the first part of the video where he explains what he’s done to mitigate water ingress?
Congratulations
I bet the tabs stay on so the mag light sticks. I also bet the easiest bits to paint white are the overspill patches ^-^
We will find out
Wow, that's some soupy mud. Don't even need to vibrate that. What is the purpose of the slots on the sides about 4' up?
For the lights
Good ole boy.
Is that rick
Looks good
Very nice PIT..
ITS THE COVERS THAT FAIL......
HOW ABOUT a rolltop desk style metal cover..?
Mount a spool..etc..best below ...oh well
Once had a lend of a pit free only issue there was a fork lift parked 3" from the edge i was given the keys never driven a fork lift before and all the legends were worn off the controls.
Excellent build, would love something like that in my garage (maybe half the size! )
Being nosey but what does a project like that cost? 🤔
Il reveal in the next video
Handy job
Well done Tom. I thought this tractor trailer sized ruddy great hole, was next to an old, car sized ruddy great hole. So if that one doesn't fill up with water with no special drainage, there's no reason to think this one will?
Great job. My only suggestion is to put up yellow tape around it. So people won't walk in and fall in.
That will all come in the next video
@Tomlamb980 I figured you had it covered. I was just thinking I would be the guy that fell in. Lol
Another great video, are you spray painting this pit? Old bulkhead lamps or new style? Can't wait for the next video.
Spraying and led lights
When I dug my pit I tanked it, so plastic all round like a swimming pool, no chance of water. Hardly had the lid on so no condensation, worked well.
Seems like you would have wanted to tie the new concrete into the existing slab so that it doesn't crack/separate there?
We could just paint over the crack and then nobody would know ?
I'm thinking of settlement of the slab in relation to the pit since the pit is more firmly supported leading to a crack with vertical difference.
Subbed....doing my bit for the farming community.... no farmers...no food!......simples! 👍
im going to build one of these.a small garage version at home. my plan is a sump with a submersible pump for the water
Excellent! Now, where do i get a pair of those safety flip flops from?
Any local sports shops
Boy that was bloody wet concrete, lucky it didn’t get under that angle iron and lift it up 😳. Looking like is gong to be a fantastic asset for the workshop way better for working on equipment. Not a cheap investment though

Trip warning before you fall in !!!
@@Shaunalexander.99 yes! That too! (Needs a cover when not in use)..
Amount of rain we having, let it fill with water advertise as local LIDO, get some yummie mummies in it for Tom !!!
Need to get me some of those safety slider’s 😂
Looks awesome, now you need a pendulum
Does Colin always show up after the graft is done?
Yes
Thats the only problem with wet mixes...always makes a bloody mess
