Thank you for covering his life. He was a very complex character who shaped the world of Rock and Roll to this day.

As an old white-girl guitarist, take it from me: Chuck was the real King of Rock. Such a badass guitarist and songwriter, too. I wanted to be Chuck Berry. Without Black music, there would be no rock n roll. NONE. Even the Mighty Led Zeppelin plagiarized a lot of Black blues musicians. Elvis was a brand, not a writer or musician worth a damn. Sister Rosetta Tharpe was a big inspiration to me, being a female. I love Black music, they were the real players/musicians. Miles Davis, Dizz, Count Basie, Ray Charles and Coltrane; all those jazzmen were incredible. Can't forget all of the great soul/blues music, either: Donnie Hathaway, Stevie, Marvin, B.B., Curtis Mayfield, Roberta Flack, Earth, Wind and Fire; the list goes on forever. It's great to see young Black people playing the instruments again, too. You know they're going to make a well-needed revival in music, and it will out-do anybody elses. Trust me on that.
