I feel as if Barry White doesn't get the love & respect he deserves. Everyone's parents had Barry white albums and loved that sexy silky voice. Thanks for covering him
Crazy how he did all that amazing work and didn't get a Grammy until 1999. Now days they just pass out Grammy's and Hollywood Star walk of fame plaques for the littlest bullshit🤦🏾♂️ Dj Khaled and Cardi B got Grammy's faster than Barry White. Wow, that's crazy!!

Celebrity Underrated you did yo thang with the bio of Berry White! This was better than Unsung or any bio on social media! You went into great detail from Barry's childhood to the day he passed! Berry would've been so proud of you! To be honest, I can't think of anyone who could play Barry White! They'd have to do a talent search and make sure the person has the deep speaking/singing voice, height, size, facial hair, etc. It's hard to find someone to portray the "Maestro!" "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me" is my all time favorite song of Barry White. Barry White combined Disco and Classical music along with R&B. That big bass voice was his trademark. He and Isaac Hayes had that deep bass voice. Just one of a kind. I believe Michael I don't know his last name From Boyz II Men will be a great candidate to play Barry White in a biopic.
Thank you CU I pray that you are staying safe and healthy for this amazing bio about the late great Barry. Sleep In Peace, Barry. I didn't know until tonight that the late great, Gerald L. wrote, Practice What You Preach. Forever a classic song. Wow I didn't know Barry smoked cigarettes that much OMG 😮 I pray that my CU family is doing well and staying safe and healthy. 🤍🕊️Fly High, Barry my favorite guy!
Its about time you did Barry White. I have an uncle that does barrintone voice. He is also a pianist. He played Barry White all the time. Barry White music is infectious. I truley beleive his music will touch more generations to Come. That sound cant die. Once you here it, your hooked. Smooth to the core.
Thanks for the post. Lets not forget arranger/producer Gene Page was a factor in Barry's earlier hits. Gene was also great friends with Barry during his first years in the record industry until Gene's passing.
Barry White was always a big Elvis fan. In an interview in the 70s as his popularity took off he said he’d always admired Elvis ability to reinvent himself. He said every artist in time can become dated in their music and become part of the past. He said he loved his Elvis , in the 50s with his gold suit and greasy hair, cane out of the army as the debonair singing actor . Then after the Beatles arrived, he reinvented himself as the jumpsuit Vegas superstar and to the day, people identify Elvis from 3 different decades and some favor one decade over the other. He had hopes of doing the same so as not to be forever thought of as a 70s disco star , a label he hated. He succeeded well in his endeavors with his ability to write, arrange for orchestras and creat music for others as well as himself. He admired how there were three music generations of Elvis who were all the same guy associated with differently and it was also his goal. His music today last forever on radio, recording and even movie soundtracks . A favorite of mine is the lesser know song “ Oh What A Night For Dancing “, also “ I’ve Got So Much Live To Give “ with the long spoken intro . That song has been used in film. He created his own identity in music than no one can simulate. A definite legend.
I seen Chucki Booker in concert. He opened up for Janet Jackson on the Rhythm Nation Tour. I also remembered when I learned Barry White died. I was flicking the channels one day and I was watching BET and they played some Barry White music videos and then at the end they said, "BET remembers Barry White" and it had his photo onscreen with his birth and death year. I was shocked.

Barry White had the best music going in the seventies. Hands down! Smart, smart, smart, smart man. He was NOT disco; this cat had his own orchestra and singing section - all of it. Very gifted man. But everyone, famous or not, has a downfall in life, and Barry's was an eating addiction. As a sober alcoholic ( 8 years), I well know the agony of addiction. It's a life-stealer. As a girl, I was 5' 11" in 3rd grade! I was an athlete extaordinaire. I stopped growing at 6 feet tall. Nobody, male or female, could beat me in a foot-race until a boy in 10th grade finally bested me. People treated me like an adult a lot of times, sometimes they'd defer to me over the very coach! Crazy. But yeah, Barry White was my man!
Not to take anything away from Stevie Wonder, but anyone who can put together a 40-piece orchestra without the ability to read or write musical notes is a musical genius.
appreciate ur biography on a precious man of our generation..barry was truly the mistro of love ..wish he could have lost the weight..he'd might have been with us ..
Barry white brought so much soul and vision into my life, his music helped me choose the correct speakers for my hifi system. Sometimes when i listen to barry speaking during the beginning, middle or towards the end of his songs, i feel that he was totally genuine and speaking to me as a guided voice for a girl that i liked. I became a huge fan of barry when i first got heavily into collecting vinyl lp records at 14 during the 1990's. I found it very amusing when you mention that barry had records stacked up to the celling. One of barry's speaking lines that always stays with me is when he said-- Men are very bashful about expressing their feelings on about the way they feel. Laughter sigh... baby i don't feel that way at all.... i don't have a problem telling you that i love you and that i need you and want you. I think this line is from the 1974 is this whacha want album. I bought the records stone gon, Just another way to say i love you, and the 1978 blue sleeved album barry white the man, when i was 15. I was totally devastated when we lost him so young too soon. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this, much i didn't know about the man. Unless there's an actor with a deep and smooth speaking voice as Barry White, I feel a movie about him would be difficult to pull off. Also its hard to believe he wasn't honored for his great music earlier in life...he was the maestro

The Great Maestro himself Barry White. Thanks to my uncle playing all his music as I was growing up. And now 30 years old all his music is still timeless till this day still playing it loud in my apartment lol. He should be talking about as one of Greatest R&B Singer of all time with the other greats. Thank You Barry White from all the hits you gave us to enjoy and make baby music lol😊😊.
There's a story that Barry White was out somewhere with a friend and he saw his ex wife and kids. The ex wife and boyfriend stepped out looking fly. But his kids looked a complete mess when they ran up to him. Barry was enraged because he was paying close to 10 grand a month in child support, and clearly it wasn't going to his children. He went to his car looking thru his glove box. His friend kept asking what's wrong next thing he knew he saw the handle of a gun. Barry said he was gonna kill them. Luckily the friend convinced him not to shoot them. That day Barry scooped up his kids and they lived with him permanently. He was said to be an excellent father and apparently still a gangster 😂 that man didn't play about his children. 💪🏾
Just woke up to CU notification I wait for ur knowledge of Celebrities we’ve loved & lost and Mr Barry White is one of the Top to me RIH 🙏🏽 Mr Maestro 🙌🏽
To me, Barry White was genius because he was a maestro, he had his own orchestra, which was a first for an R&B performer.

The Truth!!!
BARRY WHITE WAS A MUSICAL GENIUS! I grew up in the 70’s listening to his music. Having an engineering mind, Barry’s music, especially from his “Love Unlimited Orkestra” allowed me the ability to separate instruments in music.
I believe the ability to separate instruments in music allowed me to solve complex math and physics problems in college as the instruments of his music played in the background while studying engineering. I associate complex instrumentation with math.
Thank you, Barry White, for being instrumental in my upbringing and still almost a daily dose of his music that I continue to enjoy!
