GM of Canada did a great job of documenting their cars. If the paperwork is there it makes proving what it is much easier. Finding a 50 year old car with the original engine is unusual. 454's are easier to find than 396's. SS Chevelles are hot and good ones sell for 60,000 all day. Someone bought an SS Chevelle and will fix the flaws as they enjoy their car.

I had this very same car back in 1983, with 83,000 miles on it and painted black, these were dime a dozen, but know most are rotting, away in fields and bone yards,mind had a 396 ,to find one in this condition for under 50,000 is another rare find, I going to buy my next vehicle from Maple Motors, I only like the older vehicles,excellent find Maple Motors, this one going to sell quick.
So Monday morning I wake up like 11:59 am Cause I live in my parents basement. I saw this sweet chevelle and I yelled upstairs to my MA. HEY MA CAN YOU BUY ME THIS CAR!!!! Ma, says sure Robert what ever you want it’s yours. So as my Ma is serving me breakfast in the basement… cuz that’s my Ma. I made a call to Billy from maple motors and said I want that car! He said it’s yours!!! So Ma bought me that car. She’s such a sweet nice Ma!!! I love my momma!!!! So Today I took delivery of this sweet machine and have been driving it with Ma for the past 4 hours. And so To the haters, sorry you don’t have the greenbacks or a momma like mine to buy you a sweet ride like this!!! But I gotta thank the flawless transaction from maple motors and special thanks to billy for getting my new baby flawlessly delivered to me in NJ. O and by the way Thanks Nick for the great video!!!! and to all the keyboard critique masters who said good and bad about this sexy sleek chevelle, Thank you all as well. When did "136" VIN's become SS's? I always thought it had to be a 138--learn something new every day. Why would you try the heater when it's not hooked up under the hood--guessing no heater core? No wipers--but it bugs me about the defroster being overlooked. Is there anyone left on earth that can do a decent headliner replace? Love the show, Nick. Just a fuddy 72 y.o. car guy. Peace
1968 was the last year for the 138 SS vin code. The 138 code was a model. The model was a super sport chevelle. In 1969 and later. The 136 vin was a chevelle model and SS became a package. Documented buy paperwork/build sheet

A lot of you guys dive me nuts on your comments, like it has a 396 air cleaner on it, did you ever here if it looks good, why get rid of it and save you self some bucks. For I have seen clone SS's with a 10 bolt rear and not a 12. For few hard rides on a 10 bolt clone for it will tare it self to pieces, for what an original SS can do. So buy that clone at 80 k So buy a true SS and a very lovely one at that. For they are the rear deal and not a clone.
@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgatenot really. Majority of 2020 Camaro have more options than 1969 chevelle. It’s a nice car but it doesn’t have AC and the radio and the horn probably doesn’t work. I just prefer 2020 Camaro girl that has AC a working radio and Bluetooth and of course power windows and locks. I don’t like windows without power windows
How do you know this is a true SS car. Other than documentation provided from a previous owner there is no way to tell other than one other way, which I doubt you know.
